On 3/3, I reached out to him and he said he forgot to schedule me and had to reschedule me for 3/5. He quoted me $175 for: Weed removal Spray weed killer Blow out the debris Haul away everything I thought it was a lot but agreed to the price and told him that I didn't want chemicals sprayed. After he said he was done, I inspected and found weed roots still in the ground and debris everywhere. I asked him about it and he said the chemicals (that he wasn't supposed to spray) would kill everything and remove the debris. I was skeptical that the chemicals would magically clear away all the debris. He said to call him in 2 days if it didn't. I still had my doubts and asked for a $50 holdback in case the debris didn't go away. He countered with $25 and I knew then that if I called him, he simply wouldn't return my call. I stuck to the $50 and he agreed. 2 days later, the debris had not magically disappeared and I texted him with pictures to come back and finish the job, but he didn't respond as expected. Now, I have to clear the remaining weed roots and debris myself.

My concern was that I felt the result was very different from what I hoped. I was disappointed. I hoped to have one of the nicest properties in the community, and instead I felt a little embarrassed. This is my fault, but I was out of the country for a couple of months while the company was doing the install, and I was too busy to give the project the careful thought that it required. After being in the house for one week, I decided that I was unhappy enough to be feel bad instead of happy about my new front and back yards. I decided to find another landscaper to totally redo the landscaping. I had seen the Desert Sage Landscaping truck several times over the past few months working on nicely landscaped properties (I rented a house in the community for 8 moths while they built my house). I liked what I saw. I talked with one of the guys and he took me to the owner, Miguel. I liked having the owner actively maintaining landscapes because that gave me confidence that he had a lot of practical, on the job experience with plants in our desert environment. I showed him my front and back yards and told him what I wanted done. I asked him about many plants that I liked and he told me what was good and what was bad. He was speaking from experience in maintaining so many properties. He gave me a plan within 24 hours and began a couple of days later. He and his crew spent about a week replacing the walkways and plants, and adding boulders, hills, irrigation, lights and many plants. The price was reasonable and the result is excellent. Someone came and trimmed my front yard so I asked if he would be willing to drop his price because only the backyard needed to be trimmed then he asked me to wait another two hours for him to show up. We had a brief exchange in texts, then he threw in a statement in spanish! SERIOUSLY????? I would never recommend this company. They have no respect for the homeowner's time.
