The level of professionalism, acute attention to the smallest of details, daily communication was such a breath of fresh air in a world of build fast, but 'maybe' right. Every single one of the tradesman were beyond amazing. Absolute professionals at what they do. I would watch (without trying to pry) every day and was just blown away with the level of craftsmanship. Value - the ol' "If it's too good to be true...." does NOT apply here. I felt like we were left with an end product that far outshined our modest budget. However even with that modest budget we were treated absolutely no different than someone spending 10x. The same care was applied. It's just who they naturally are as people. We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). I called him back about a week later to get a whole yard clean-up quote. Again the price was very fair. We arranged to have the crew arrive several days later. The crew showed up on schedule and worked quickly, efficiently, and were very professional. The truck and trailer was set up well and had a meat and tidy appearance. The debris were loaded onto the trailer and hauled away, no mess no fuss, I couldn't be more pleased! Romero also turned me on to venmo to process payment. Super easy!! Note** I'm new to venmo, didn't fully understand how to verify the payment went thru. I accidentally paid him twice, he called me asked how the job looked and said btw you paid me twice, then promptly refunded the overage. Honest, hardworking, and very reasonable! Victoria and Ricardo came to measure our backyard and later provided us with a detailed quote. Victory construction even created a rendering of our backyard. They were incredibly patient with us as we occasionally changed our minds and revised the quotes accordingly. A portion of the backyard has already been completed, including a pergola constructed from pavers, a paver pad for a potential outdoor sauna, a paver walkway, grass, an irrigation system, a couple dozen + of hopseseed plants, and some other plants. We are still awaiting the HOA's approval for our pergola to be placed and paver steps from the front yard to the rear area. The backyard has transformed into a visually stunning landscape.

We talked with Sal, who is friendly and responsive, about helping us with extending our travertine from our pool here in Ahwatukee. Not only did he exactly match our existing travertine, he was extremely knowledgable about what should be done with it. Had a great experience working with Sal on my landscaping project, which consisted of installing a plot of artificial grass, paver walkways and stepping stones, and a concrete foundation for a small shed. Sal was very communicative throughout the entire process. He was able to provide a quote within a few minutes of assessing the job, and was quick with revising the quote when I made a modification to the dimensions of the turf. Sal's quote came in slightly under that of a much larger company that services the Phoenix area. The work started within 5 days of me approving the quote and was finished after 1 week. I had Isaiahs come over and clean up weeds maybe three times but the last time his worker hacked…read moreand broke with a shovel my irrigation line. But I didn't find out till later when the planter box was all flooded like a lake and overflowing like a river to the street. I found the broken PVC right where I instructed his worker to plant an agave fior me. When I told Isaiah's TFH Landscaping that his worker broke the sprinkler line, ISAIAHs said he would send the worker over to do the repair in a couple days which Isaias said was Tuesday, the worker never showed up. When I called him to say the worker never showed up he said he would come in a couple days and he personally will come and be there. Well Isaias never showed up. What's worse is he used to answer the phone on the first ring and was "always there for me" and even said "You know I am always here for you and I answer the phone". But after he didn't show up two times he wasn't answering the phone anymore .... ever. I left many, many messages telling Isaias I was disappointed that not only does he not show up to do the repair that his worker broke, but he deliberately is ghosting me for weeks. He sees from caller ID it is me calling for him to repair something he damaged (I sent pictures of the hacked irrigation pipe in the hole where the agave got blown outta there from the broken line), so he deliberately does not answer the phone ever again to BE THERE FOR MEEEEE, like he told me previously. That deserves 1 Yelp star. So you think I'm going to do business with him if he doesn't even answer the phone ever? Someone told me "because they don't get paid to repair their mistakes and have to take time out from already paying jobs to go to a job that doesn't pay. I never spoke to Isaias again because he didn't care to come back ad fix the broken pipe his worker hacked to pieces. That deserves 1 Yelp star don't you think? I have a new landscaper who has many solid 5 Yelp stars, and so far he has shown up every time I needed him, right on time, even when he squeezed me in. But I have no experience if he will show up to fix something he didn't do right, because nothing like that has happened so far.

Zero Stars - Nightmare Experience with Rock-N-Block Landscape…read more After meeting with the project manager from the Phoenix, Arizona location, we decided to move forward and hire Rock-N-Block Landscape to install new artificial turf and gravel rock landscaping at our home. During our consultation, I specifically explained the problems we experienced with a previous contractor. The prior turf installation had developed a large indentation within five years because the area had not been properly filled and graded, resulting in drainage issues. The Rock-N-Block project manager acknowledged these concerns and explained that the previous installation had been done incorrectly. Unfortunately, when the work began, it became clear that the two-man crew sent to our property had not been informed about the drainage concerns or the corrective measures that had been discussed during the consultation. There also appeared to be little to no supervision or project oversight from the beginning. What followed was one of the worst contractor experiences we have ever had. There was no apparent effort to protect our property while the work was being performed. As the crew removed the existing gravel, rocks were thrown into our swimming pool. Dust and substrate were kicked into our sliding door tracks, pool equipment, and other areas around the property. Instead of seeing professional workmanship, we watched our property become damaged and contaminated during the process. When I expressed my concerns about the condition of the job site and the damage being caused, the crew abruptly stopped working, packed up, and left the project incomplete. We were left with a mess, an unfinished yard, and the stress of having to find another contractor to complete the work. To make matters worse, the following day the crew returned to the property and removed all project materials and equipment without notifying us that they were on-site. We have photos documenting the removal of the materials. Communication throughout this ordeal was equally unprofessional. The project manager repeatedly ignored my text messages and refused to answer my phone calls. Ironically, while he would not respond to me, he was clearly communicating with the crew members regarding the project. A company that advertises itself as a five-star operation should be accountable, responsive, and committed to customer satisfaction. Based on our experience, Rock-N-Block failed in every one of those areas. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to do extensive research before hiring them. The lack of communication, poor project management, property damage, and abandonment of the project created an extremely frustrating and stressful experience for our family. Hire at your own risk. My rating is 0 out of 5 stars.

The team demolished our old, deteriorating concrete walkway and replaced it with stunning limestone pavers that truly elevated the look of our home. They also did a full overhaul of our drip irrigation system and removed the front yard grass, replacing it with a beautiful, natural desert landscape that fits the area perfectly. Landscape lighting was also installed and makes the front yard look incredible at night. Hector was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. He was always quick to respond to our questions and incredibly accommodating, especially since we were on vacation for part of the project. Even when we added more requests later on -- like additional plants and extra lighting -- he handled everything seamlessly. Highly recommend Nevarez Landscaping!

Buyer beware! Our…read moreyard service, Francysco's Landscaping, just quit when the pavers that they were repairing from our tree that fell over a few weeks ago were not leveled and left with large gaps between pavers. We told him this was unacceptable and he quit on the spot. Pavers are a service that they advertise on their truck that they provide. Apparently that is to their satisfaction and not the paying customer. He charges an outrageous amount and then wonders why you expect quality. We also asked him to fix a valve that was constantly running and over watering our palo verde and he fixed the wrong one. We told him it was still running (which he should have verified before leaving), so he said he must have fixed the wrong valve. His solution was to come back and remove valves that I didn't want removed only to have to come back and undo that work, that was neither needed or approved. Then he has the audacity to try to charge me for that work! Stay away from anyone that charges a fortune by overestimating the cost to do a job and then does not stand behind their work.

They always communicated with us and told us what steps they were taking and when they'd be here. We had new turf installed and retaining walls put in. Took about 3-4 days and very happy with how it turned out. When we had a small miscommunication, everything got fixed quickly and they reinstalled the turf in one section. We recommend them to our family and they had projects at their homes too. Great work and very thorough and you can tell they want to make sure they do a good job.

He said he could come next day at 6:30 am. He spent a lot of time figuring out where leak was. Charged extremely reasonable fee. Would definitely recommend. I'll refer friends and family to him for sure!
