After Googling "crystal shops near me" I found several shops, but this one seemed to have a bigger variety of what we were looking for. It was early, around 10am when we arrived, and we were warmly greeted by Heather who showed us all around the shop (which was perfectly filled with everything we had hoped for and more). Heather showed us how we could pour out the stones to find the one right for us, how the tarot decks had open samples so you could see exactly what you were buying, let us know the herbs were on sale and where the recipe cards were if we wanted some ideas. She offered coffee, tea, and water as she told us about their services with readers, classes, and a little about the shop and owner. There was so much to see, so much to do, they even have a corner you can sit and read in, get comfy. The reader of the day was Samantha who not only is a 5th generation tarot reader, but was very friendly and full of very helpful information and suggestions for purchasing tarot cards /oracle cards. My daughter and I quickly started filling shopping baskets with stones and crystals, both in tumbled and raw form, as well as candles, and multiple other gifts. My favorite thing about the stones /crystals is that they come with a piece of paper that tells you all about them, so it's easy to keep track of. When it came time to check out I realized I had mixed all my papers and stones and lost track of which belonged to which. Vialet, David, and Heather were all so helpful in assisting me to match them all back up and then individually packaging them so that I would not mix them again on my trip back home. When all was said and done and we looked at the time... 4pm... 6 hours... Yes SIX HOURS had gone by. My daughter and I could've spent another six hours in there with out even realizing it because there are so many things to look at, touch, experience. We came back the next day to purchase more oracle cards, and the next day to get readings. I've never had a reading or done anything of the sorts, it's more my daughter's thing. But there were 3 of us that received readings from Heather and It was an incredible experience. So much information and guidance. We will be back! And this will be our new go to spot for sure each time we visit. It's wonderful how welcoming everyone is, how knowledgeable, insightful, and the array of services offered by quality people! Just because a person comes from a "highly attuned spiritual family" doesn't mean they're also highly spiritually attuned -- that's like saying "she comes from a highly musical family" but she can't carry a tune or keep the beat. (I myself come from an *extremely* Christian family -- Bible Belt! -- but I have since learned the truth about that religion and am no longer the slightest bit Christian nor will I ever be again.) As I said, both my husband and I are *extremely* intuitive and can sense people's energy, and the energy we get from this man is "used car salesman" with not a shred of spirituality. In any case, his pushy car-salesman attitude was the real issue. That said, my husband and I did stop by the Youngfield store a couple days ago, and although we didn't encounter "Mr Mask" (and mask or not, the attitude was the problem) the lady at the register was also very "car-lot sales-y", listing off all the things on sale, the readings going on that day, etc. While some might find that helpful, we found it rather off-putting, as we had come in for a specific purpose, not a 3-minute sales pitch. There is nothing wrong with welcoming customers in and saying, "If you need any help just let us know." (Ashley at the 44th Ave location got this right, every time!) But the pushy attitude we've repeatedly encountered makes us reluctant to shop here.

One thing that stood out to me after the reading is there is a lot of 5 star reviews on Google and only a handful of 1 star review and under each of the 1 star review there is a really mean comments from someone in Cosmic Tea Holistic Shop. I have a feeling there is probably some form of threats coming from them if you give them a bad review. Not saying places can' have high reviews but after my experience I don't think this place is it. The reading itself was on the more pricy side of things so I expected this to be good from the shop owner, Elizabeth. For context I usually like to do yearly tarot readings in some form to have answers to my questions and also to see how accurate tarot readings are in general. I notice when I came in I felt the room she read in was dark, I was just ready for the reading itself and what comes up to my questions. She asked me if I was nervous and put on some music and saying she felt she I was nervous but in reality I was just ready for what came out. In each reading I do, I never like to give out too much information because if the tarot reader/ psychic doing the reading is good, you don't need to provide too much information. I think it started off with her saying I can record the reading and then she went into her cards and see what I cam here for. With her card reading it was accurate with what category I was asking about but this was a very common category. She asked a few more question, more so these questions are to see who the person is in front of her and how they react. Talked about her experience with other reading and a little bit about some related personal experience. She was respectful initially but through the answer and reactions I gave as she continued reading she became more blunt and off putting because she thinks she can get away with it. It didn't help it was towards the end of the day but it's not an excuse. The other thing is I paid for a full 1hr reading and between waiting for her to be ready at the beginning the actual reading started when I presses record on my phone but towards the end I basically felt she was like the reading is done and you can go when there was somewhere around 5-6 mins till an hour. A couple things she mentioned towards the end of the reading is already confirmed not true and I felt more like she was just giving her opinion at the point then tapping into psychic. I think there is a few things she mentioned could be but we will see how things play out. I can't say if she is fake or this shop is fake but there is something wrong in how she acted professionally. When someone thinks she has won it or on top of a high hill long enough they will start to pretty much act like that and that's pretty much most people. I think she needs to land back onto the ground and try to understand, is this really how she wants to run her business. I energy I got from the store and the reading was not particularly good, I surely would not be returning.

We came during the week so it was quiet but also thrilled to know they have a weekend storytime option. Storytime itself was great - mix of books and crafts with ample toys for the little ones of varying ages to play with and a huge children's room. Comfy places to sit and read or work abound in Bookies. They even have a coffee machine in one corner that looked like it was open to whomever. Being a bookstore there were of course... Books! I found everything I was looking for and then some (i.e. a fun hat and some puzzles) and bonus points for them having a good amount of bilingual books for the kiddos. So happy to have found this spot and I can't wait to become a regular - both for myself for some "me" time as well as for a fun, safe indoor space for my little one.
