I did my research on our area preschools (9+ schools) and ultimately decided to have Hosanna! as our preschool for many reasons. The school classrooms are large, filled with fun toys, treehouses, and interactive play. The teachers are the most loving and caring and truly know my daughter and let her personality shine. The director makes sure you know everything that is going on and the communication between parents and teachers is comforting. The preschool offers many activities for parents to join throughout the year, which have been very special moments. The outside playground is well kept and continues to grow with new activities added, like this year's Mud Kitchen! There is also a large indoor gym for when it's raining or too cold. The cost is average for the Elgin area and worth every penny! Our (almost) two years of preschool have been so enjoyable and my daughter has grown academically as well as socially/emotionally. She has made close friends and families have become close as well. Highly recommend you check out Hosanna! Preschool for your kiddos, you won't regret it!

Doing things like calling my daughters father when somebody I approve to pick her up, literally just to inform him that I didn't pick her up from school on my scheduled time- but would allow her father and his approved list pick her up whenever they wanted including my parenting time early from school with no information to me. Allowed ex, and girlfriend to sign up for Parent teacher conference and did not inform me. Multiple conversations with the school telling them what was happening and asking them to give me communication about my daughters schooling and refusing to. I understand that it's not a preschool job to deal with parents, not getting along, but when they go out of their way to inform one parent about everything, the other parent is doing it seems very sketchy and untrustworthy. Not to mention they are aware that my ex was in serious Rehab for serious drug problem had had multiple order protections taken out on him, so I might be a difficult person, but I'm dealing with a lot from here at the preschool than nothing but make his abuse worse and enable him. As mentioned, the person who did all the shady things, was Mandy, the Director of the preschool

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Goddard and the impact they have made on not only my life, but my son's as well. The entire staff are caring, compassionate, and true educators/nurturers. The program they have in place to assist with developing learning and language is unmatched in our opinion! Our Son continues to learn so much daily and frequently does not want to leave when we come to pick him up as there are so many fun things for the kids to experience (crafts, various toys, activities, etc). The Teachers are wonderful and genuinely excited to see the kids each day! Also, Ms. Deb, the chef, is wonderful and it always smells delicious when she is cooking for the children! Thank you to everyone at The Goddard School St. Charles you're doing a wonderful job and have made many families immensely comfortable and happy.

I strongly and unequivocally disagree with the statement provided by the school. As a parent, my…read moreconcern is not only valid but supported by the seriousness of what occurred. This matter was significant enough to warrant involvement from DCFS, and a formal case was opened and documented as a violation. That alone directly contradicts any attempt to minimize or dismiss the situation. The claim that there is a "zero-tolerance policy" and that all children are consistently kept in a safe and nurturing environment does not align with my child's experience or the outcome of the investigation. Policies are only meaningful when they are properly enforced, and in this instance, there was a clear failure to uphold the standards that are being publicly promoted. I find it deeply concerning that the response avoids accountability and instead attempts to deflect by not addressing key details. As a parent, I trusted this facility with my child's safety, and that trust was compromised. The fact that this resulted in a documented DCFS violation speaks for itself. I am sharing this not to engage in conflict, but to ensure transparency and to emphasize that this situation was real, serious, and formally recognized by the appropriate authorities. Parents deserve full honesty when it comes to the safety and well-being of their children. CITATION- 407100A3 & 407100A10

    Primrose School of South Elgin

Oh Primrose- where to even begin? I will start with my biggest regret- not having my children…read moreenrolled here sooner. This is a school. This is not a glorified daycare. This is absolutely an environment that fosters learning, growth, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Our oldest child went through the private Kindergarten at Primrose and the impact this singular decision will have on his future far exceeds anything we could have hoped for. He got more than a foundation at Primrose- he got a solid education and a skillset that will have a lifelong influence. Upon graduating from the Primrose private kindergarten program, he went on to public school where he is in their kindergarten (we didn't want to push him ahead to 1st grade as we wanted the transition to elementary school to be easier on him). We have learned that he is not at a kindergarten reading level- he is at a SECOND GRADE reading level! Not only that, but we have been informed that of the 10 children that graduated from Primrose last year (either from the pre-K or Kindergarten program) and then went on to attend our same public elementary school, ALL TEN children are above grade level for reading. They are advanced enough that they are having to be pulled from their regular classroom reading time to work with a teacher that can teach them phonics/reading at the level these children are already at. There are only 2 non-Primrose children in their elementary school that are also being pulled for advanced phonics/reading skills. Furthermore, we have been informed that our son is also advanced in his math skills, and he will be pulled from his regular kindergarten math coursework to focus on more challenging math curriculum that more closely meet him where his skills lie. Now I would LOVE to take credit for his achievements. I would love to tell you that mom and dad taught him all that he knows. But that would be dishonest of me. We owe all of this development to Primrose- to the curriculum that they employ, to the safe and nurturing environment that they provide, and especially to the teachers and staff that work day and night to give these children a head start in life. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience at Primrose- they go above and beyond for their students and the community in everyway possible. THANK YOU PRIMROSE!
