Montessori Children's Garden (MCG) is a truly amazing place. My husband and I are so grateful to have chosen MCG for our son's education! He was there from 2.5 to 6 years old. Not only was he incredibly well prepared to start school in IPSD 204 from an academic standpoint, but also socially and emotionally. The school is very well run - with top notch communication and a staff of talented, caring teachers. The staff put on regular education nights for parents, and with no judgment, really helped me identify how to be the best mom I can be. While in the Kindergarten program, our son was asked to be a leader in the classroom and take on more responsibilities. It was so wonderful to watch him thrive and be cared for by an entire staff of smart, devoted, and empathetic women. Thank you so much, MCG, for giving our son the best start! All 3 of my children attended MCG. When we started visiting schools there was something about each place that just didn't sit right with me. As soon as we toured MCG I knew this was the place for us and it is honestly one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our kids grew their love of learning in a supportive and loving environment. Each and every teacher and staff member was amazing. Our children were given opportunities to grow and develop academically and social-emotionally. When they started attending public school, each of my children was ahead academically. One of our boys can be a bit rigid and challenging, and his teacher Ms. Jennie worked with him so well that he soared academically and behaviorally. Our son has attended MCG since he was 2 and we will be forever grateful for having found this gem of a school and teachers. We had searched extensively for a school and knew we had found it when we walked in. Montessori Children's Garden offers an excellent learning environment and a wide range of summer camp activities. The teachers are truly Montessori trained, they are very attentive and caring to their students and really make the time to get to know each child and family. Our son is now in Kindergarten, he's had an amazing and fulfilling experience there, he's thrived in every area in his development. The administrative staff is very supportive, understanding and always jumps in for special needs. My son has been going to MCG for the last two years. I don't have enough words to describe what a wonderful experience it has been. I am constantly surprised by all the variety of things they teach him at MCG. I will admit that while I knew of Montessori, I did not know what a Montessori education entailed, and I was a bit apprehensive. Like the other reviewer, I toured several Montessori Schools in my area and other pre-schools as well, but MCG stole my heart. I love that the teachers have been there for a long time (I have seen very little turnover in the last two years) and one of the teachers is a former student. I love the fun opportunities they have for parents to meet and share (Santa's Breakfast, Culture Night, Holiday Party, etc.), but most importantly, is how happy my little one is going to school. read more

My husband and I both work full-time, and I stressed over where my daughter was going to go to pre-school and how to make it work as most pre-schools are only a few hours a day, a few days a week. I can't tell you how great it feels to know your child is well taken care of, and that you can go on with your day knowing your child is not only in good hands, but thriving. That's what you'll get with MCG. My daughter started attending MCG over a year ago when she was just over 2 years old. She entered the toddler room and had a great transition and fit right in. The process to apply was great because we got to meet with the teachers, observe the class, and then brought our daughter to visit. The teachers care so much about each individual child and truly follow the Montessori Philosophy of following the child, and that includes any major transitions. Since then, my daughter transitioned into one of the 3-5 rooms, and when deciding which class to be placed in, took into consideration some of her sensory sensitivities and placed her with a teacher that would be the best fit for those issues. It's those types of considerations that always impress me with MCG. I love that my daughter has made new friends, has great relationships with each teacher, is challenged at her level, and the open communication I have with the staff. I'm the mom that couldn't bear the thought of putting my child into daycare. I toured at least 12 different daycares and preschools in the Naperville/Plainfield area over the course of a year. Out of all the centers, I liked the director and staff of Montessori Children's Garden the most. I could tell right away that the staff were gentle, compassionate, and really cared about their careers in childcare. The school is small and has a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I finally decided to start my daughter at Montessori Children's Garden right after her 3rd birthday. I am still amazed at how well the transition has gone. She has been happy and excited about preschool from the first day and is even asking if she can extend her day there. I am even happier with my decision after having the chance to get to know the teachers better. I like the Montessori aspect of the school but even more than that I love that the staff truly practices respectful communication with the children. read more

My daughter is 2.5 and went to MCG for about 7 months. We relocated and had to change schools. But she had such a wonderful experience during the time she attended MCG. The teachers, especially Ms. Ricaphel and Ms. Theresa are awesome. Very caring and nurturing. My daughter was always happy to go to school in the morning and happy when we picked her up in the evening. She learnt a lot and was always singing new songs and talking about her friends in school. My daughter started at MCG when she turned 3. I saw a tremendous amount of growth in the first 30 days after she started. I have continued to be thrilled with her development.
