I will say the food is good, however, as a frequent customer including catering very dissapointed to NOT get what you pay for. Paid for a large plate only to be told when picking up that the large plate is now their medium but the price is the same. Was told that, they are no longer able to purchase the large trays so they are now serving it in a medium tray and price stayed the same. I get it, prices change based on the market(inflation) but at the very least let your customers know. Definitely won't be back, that's bad service especially for your frequent customers. read more

This may be no benihanas but they serve damn good teppanyaki cooked food. So obviously since they are a food stand, you dont sit with a chef or cook and they dont do tricks for you. But they decided lets cut that part out and just serve freaking good food that comes at the end of those rituals. And they did a damn good job, resulting in scrumpalicious fried rice and meat. I tried the full order of new york steak and it was good enough that I keep getting new york steak whenever I am here. I also tried filet mignon last time I stopped by, which is totally worth it too. The filet mignon was obviously more tender but not more flavorful than the new york steak. If you are like me and appreciate the sensation of chewing on flavorful beef, then go for the new york steak instead. The fried rice (which I could never finish) is wonderful. They use copious amounts of what I think is garlic herb butter, and they throw in a bunch of diced veggies and on the same hot plate as the meats, they chop chop chop the whole thing together and they give you the results. Good flavor and the rice is properly cooked for once. They consistently get this right, the rice is supple, chewy, and firm, I bet they were properly Japanese trained before they opened this restaurant. I saw them do it, they use a humble oldshool cooker and throw the water in with those huge heavy watercooler containers and they are EXPERT at this. You should see them work, they have this down to a science and they're unstoppable. You got to check this out. Apart from that, they dont seem too willing to talk to a loner asian guy waiting for is food so I couldnt ask about how they started and where their expertise was honed etc. I just know they make bomb teppanyaki food without the teppanyaki wait. read more

It's a food stand right next to the food for less gas station. It is so good! The female worker was really nice and patient with us as we navigated through the menu. We ordered three different plates: the New York steak, ribs, and shrimp. It was so good!! They give a lot of food that fed us for two meals. It was $62 total at the end, which is on the higher end of street food, but it is basically a Benihana that gives more for your buck. I recommend this spot! read more

Hibachi is my favorite food so ive been to a lot of places. If u read my reviews, none have been able to come up to 405s level as they've been the gold standard of LA/the valley for years. However, I believe ive finally discovered the only serious challenger to 405 Teps reign. This place is bomb. And I mean really bomb. Portions are great, prices are better, not as far, and have a good vibe to it. Finally, it tastes amazing. The flavors are great and they offer fried rice for free! I've started to come to this place regularly as it really is the up and coming place that will eventually takeover the top spot. However, I love how lowkey they are and how the quality is so good. I had the opportunity to try Beto's at the 818 Night Market and I'm so glad this is the option I chose for dinner. My husband and I split a combo plate with shrimp and steak. From the seasoning to them cooking it medium like we asked, it was all perfect. It's hard to find a meal that you feel is worth the price these days but I can 100% say this food is worth it. They also offer a variety of sauces (yum yum, spicy mayo, garlic butter, chili sauce) and my personal fav was the garlic butter. We loved the food so much we are already thinking of our next visit and what day we want to drive to Sylmar. Give them a try, you won't regret it! read more
