My first play of the year and my first time visiting Baltimore Center Stage. It certainly won't be my last. I'm not sure if there's a parking lot of this space, but plenty of street parking with no issues on a Saturday afternoon. clean bathrooms, nice mocktails and coffee at the concession stand. We were in a somewhat small theater, which worked out because every seat was a good one. I'll gladly return!

Customer service was wonderful from the box office, to the concessions, to the ushers. I was also easily able to find parking on the street a short walk away. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for other shows at this theater.

He's a guitarist from Italy and plays a three neck guitar, look him up on You Tube! His fingers are almost alien like how he hits those cords! I'm not sure where Owning Mills is but I have a car with navigation so I'll figure it out. I always have a little push back, the security guard checking everyone's vaccination status (who has a gun on his belt??) says my NY state Vaccine card on my cell isn't recognized. I tell him to get his boss to come up front. The theater director approached the main doors. I explain I'm from New York and.. "this is how we do it.." (dance break) He says not a problem Bill S. Enjoy the show. Once inside, what a beautiful theater! I purchases the first aisle seat (for guy spreading) second row and I have a great view of the stage. The acoustics were spot on and the lighting for the performance was also professional. Nice job Gordon Center crew! I don't live in the state but it was a pleasure to see a great performance at The Gordon Center for the performing arts.

This 1 (wo)man play was highly entertaining and inspiring. It's a story of self-discovery at a time when racial tension & ignorance were at an all time high. We sat front and center but there is no bad seat in the house. Everyman Theatre has been delivering high quality performances over 30 seasons. They have a professional cadre of actors who perform on a regular basis throughout the season. Additionally, community access & engagement are also cornerstones of this theatre. Each play has "pay what you choose" tickets available so finances won't be a problem. Sad, I'm really late to the party. However, Go! Check out a play, take a class, become a sponsor, and donate!!! You will thank me later.

There is a box office for will call and small bar. The theater is smallish of course but intimate. We sat in the front and realized that it is "tight" up there with little leg room and you are looking right u at the actors on the stage. it was still nice, but for those looking for more room or space from the stage, make a note. We plan to return for the next play!

My child has been doing shows here since 2016, and wow, has it improved. From Matilda, to The…read moreLittle Mermaid, to SpongeBob The Musical, it has been so much fun. Although it can be a little bit pricey, it is 100% worth it. To see my kid on stage doing the thing they love makes me have such joy. The staff here is wonderful, respectful, and kind (all words my daughter used) to the kids and adults. The props, costumes and sets are all hand made by other people, so there is no stage-crew, focusing mainly on acting. However, there are also voice lessons that have been splendid. DLC, keep doing you thing!

I visited Eubie Blake to see an exhibit of Megan Lewis's paintings (on view October 9-November 20,…read more2021) with a friend, and we were really blown away by the work in the gallery. I'll definitely return for another gallery visit (the exhibits/shows change all the time)! But Eubie Blake is more than a gallery, even during COVID times! It offers live music (Eubie Live!), classes, and events. It's not very clear to me what they're doing right now during COVID, and their website isn't great at providing information about their hours or how to visit (I wasn't sure, for example, if you needed to have a pre-selected time to visit the galleries during COVID or not - the answer is no). If you happen by and they're open, stop in! There's some really great art in those galleries! I hope to return for some jazz sometime soon!

My understanding is they rotate and if they are anything like the one that was on display the night of the gala it is worth the visit. I not only got to take in an amazing event with some wonderful ballet dancers I also got to see some great art and take in some Baltimore history. Can't wait to come back for more things.

Hairspray the musical based on the movie by John Waters was performed at Essex Community College as…read morepart of their summer season. It was excellent. Shouts out to Tracy, Edna, Penny and the rest of the crew. They could sing and dance with the best of them. It almost felt like a Broadway production. The choreography was excellent and the little cute gimmicks during the singing and dancing were entertaining. A lot of bottles of hairspray was used in the show. Motormouth Maybelle hit some notes that received a huge applause from the audience. The closing song, YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT was full of energy and some of the dancers came out into the audience. It brought the house down and received a standing ovation. I know the theatre has been putting out shows for many years. I always enjoy the musicals the best. Even the scenery is well done. It was a joy to sit there and watch these performers doing what they love. Check out their schedule for 2011-12. I don't think you will be disappointed for the $20 ticket price.

We've been to several shows recently at The Hippodrome. In April (2026), we saw Kimberly Akimbo, a…read moremultiple-Tony-award-winning 2.5-hour musical. It's about teenage angst, and about aging, too, "akimbo" referring somewhat to an awkward posture. It's not easy to explain the story without giving a lot away. It's funny and also personal. This performance was quite good, by a national troupe on a nation-wide tour. The staging is casual-looking, the acting perfectly real, the dance and singing quite good. We came in large part for the wonderful music: a variety of jazz, folk, and rock, plus more, in a cabaret style. The Hippodrome was easy to drive to on a weekday evening, coming as we did a few blocks east of MLK on Baltimore Ave, or you could drive west from Light Street on Fayette. We love the classic vertical sign and broadway-like marquee, especially when it's glowing at night! The attached garage was super convenient, with elevators direct to the theater lobby, but note: cash isn't accepted for parking. The inside 1914 theater-space is gorgeous! Ornate walls and ceiling, and plush seats. Our seats were pretty comfortable with enough legroom. The Hippodrome presents broadway shows performed by national companies, right here in a lovely theater. In fact, we've seen three so far this year! Who needs New York :-)

I was back to see another production for Wicked. The show was overall well done and entertaining…read more I arrived without issue, got in quickly and was seated. I contemplated snacks, but decided against in when the line was too long during intermission. I had to choose between snacks and bathroom. GLOWS: The bathroom line is extremely long during intermission. I do feel like it was attempted to solve with making the restrooms unisex, but most ladies still gathered to use the bathroom labeled "women."
