I'm struggling with how to rate this one. On the one hand, this building's chipping paint and failing roof and a bad location could make it a two star review. On the other hand, as a thrift store, what really matters is whether they have great deals. But if they do, then you don't want a ton of people to know about the spot with good deals, so they get to them before you do. So, at the end of all that deliberation, I chose 3 stars. It's a huge warehouse style building with lots of selection. It's fairly organized. It's absolutely not a curated selection or the type of thrift store tourists would visit for fun like they have on Hawthorne. They do 25% off on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and have additional promotions at other times. You can get a credit if you donate stuff. There's a lot of stuff that's not worth much, but you can find diamonds in the rough, especially with the extra discounts.

This place is...something else! An absolute warren of well worn furniture, clothing, antiques, ctotchkies, knick-knacks and, well...mostly junk. I'm sure there are treasures lurking and hidden within, but there's just too much crap to sort through, so unless you're very bored, very patient, or very dedicated, it's probably not worth the effort to try.

We haven't been in much but this is a real thrift store and not homogenized like the Goodwill stores.

They have used and new books for sale at an exceptional price. They have stationary, puzzles, games, and cute accessories for your bibliophile in your life. We visited to purchase books for my bookshelf, as I am finishing my first book while we are on vacation. I found the second volume of a used edition book for 7 dollars off the full price. I also found a used edition of a book I've been searching for in California! Could I have bought it online? Yes, but I enjoy using my time to support mom and pop book shops instead. Each floor of books is categorized and labeled, so you know where you're headed. For example, one room is called the "gold room" had all the manga and romance books. Dependent on what you're looking for in genre, they've got it! If you are looking for a specific book, they have kiosks on every floor for you to type and look for your book. We used their computer, and our book was labeled by aisle and directed into the blue room. We bought two books, magnets, a patch, and a tote. It is a wonderful store and absolutely matched my expectations. We spent a great time walking through each room and checking out what they had to offer. Truly a magnificent collection of books!

Many used books are in great condition and a good price. It is great for souvenirs and gifts if you are visiting Portland from out of town. I love how organized and efficient it is when you're looking for a book and many staff recommendations if you're just there to browse and pick up a book. Staff are everywhere and available. Crowd wise, it seems to be busy all the time but there is plenty of space to maneuver around people if needed. Always a great way place to stop by when traveling to Portland!
