When we entered the house it was a wonderful remodeled farms house with every convenience you would need along with a design of impeccable detail. We spent hours by the fire out back, took a cow safari across the property and the neighboring 140 acres, cooked dinners in the gourmet kitchen,and spent quality disconnected time as a family. Fresh eggs are available every morning from the coop outside the kitchen window.The beds and high quality linens made for a great night sleep. Tonys warm spirit is the best part of the farm. After much consideration I feel compelled to leave an honest review. I feel like we were misled…read morewith false information about this property. Several of the amenities were not available, the property was run down and dirty. After we arrived at the Glade cabin we walked down the property to see what it had to offer. We noticed our cabin did not have a washer and dryer in it as described and didn'tfind the communal area laundry to use. There was no map provided and no signage to guide what areas were private and for public use. We came upon the wood burning sauna and I gasped when i opened the door. It was run down, super rustic and it honestly reminded me of a crematorium. Next to that was the cool dip pool which was not in working order and not listed as that on the rental description. Several reviews seem like the pool hasnt been in use for a few years. We then walked up to the "castle" on a narrow foot bridge and at the top were what seemed to be two drunk men who claimed they lived there. They were blocking the walkway, and to get around them was awkward. They asked us how we found this place and why we were there. Something didn't sit right with that encounter, so we continued walking instead of going inside to see the communal area. We went back to our cabin and never used the rest of the property after that. It did not seem eco friendly either. The property seems to be in a constant state of construction that other things get overlooked and unkempt. The glade cabin was just ok. It was secluded which was a plus. It seemed clean however there was a strong musty smell throughout. No cleaning supplies offered. The cabin had an ant problem inside and a bee problem outside of the entry doors. Both doors were hard to lock from inside. The main door leading to the kitchen had quite a large gap between it and the frame causing an easy way for insects to get in. The keypad was also not working properly and had a constant noise coming from it which was annoying while trying to sleep. The furniture was old and not comfortable. It did have good wifi and was able to stream on the TV. The lightning was very dim inside, and although it had a lot of lights it was still dark. Im not sure how this property keeps getting good reviews, but i did find quite a few similar to mine. On TripAdvisor there is also mention of this being a nudist camp which was not mentioned in any of the rental descriptions. That, and the non working pool and sauna alone would have made me not book in the first place. Again misleading and unsettling. It is close to the national park which is why we originally chose this place. We spent as much time away from it as possible and only returned to sleep. We did not once see any employees or property managers. I would caution anyone to rethink booking here.

There's truly something for everyone, whether you're looking to relax or explore. We loved the dry sauna and the jacuzzi tub in our room, and spent our evenings cooking, sitting by the fire, and playing records. It was the perfect mix of cozy and fun. The property also has a hot tub, a cold plunge, and dry sauna and you can books massages, cooking classes and yoga classes on the property! So many other unique touches throughout -- you can really feel how much thought has gone into creating a serene and welcoming space. You can do as much or as little as you want here, and that flexibility makes it feel like your retreat. Can't recommend it enough. I am already dreaming about our next stay later this year!

There were pumpkins here and there. They had all types. The typical orange, the specialties that were different colors, had bumps etc, and lastly they had the smaller pumpkins/gourds. They were priced reasonable at under a $1 a pound. It may have been maybe $0.90 a lb... but definitely under $1 a lb. The wagon ride was nice. I will always love a wagon ride. When walking through the pumpkin patch there maybe some prickers stuck to you. Be careful walking around the patch. This is a farm. Take in consideration of your outfit and shoes. If it's dry out the dirt is dusty and will leave dust on your shoes and everywhere else. I looked like I had used self tanner on my exposed skin from the wagon ride. Hehe. Nothing a baby wipe can't take care of. There were two food trucks. We opted for the truck that was serving hotdogs. It was the perfect set up. They were delicious! The country store was great. They had fudge, apple cider, lots of goods, and slushies. We enjoyed the sweets and treats. The cold apple cider hit the spot on the warm October Saturday. The playground area was fantastic. It was a hit with our group. Some of us adults enjoyed it, especially the slide. Overall it's a great farm, and a great place to take the family.

It's a little over an hour away from Richmond and holds the title of the largest corn maze in Virginia. They have a different theme each year for the maze, and this year's was "Into the Deep" (ocean-themed). Our group chose the hardest maze (blue) and spent at least two hours in it. We didn't get all of the hole punches, as after we got our 7th of 21, we decided to just focus on finding the exit as it was nearing closing time. We did stumble upon hole punch 21 at the end though! The price for attendance was reasonable, and the whole vibe of the farm was very chill. It's really a perfect fall activity. They have a little market too with fun candies, fudge, and ciders. I had a hot apple cider, which was great to hold in the maze. I also bought some stick candies and candy corn fudge. They also have a little fire pit and porta pots if you need the restroom.
