Three of my friends held their weddings here and I personally hosted a friends bridal shower here during the pandemic. I have to say the venue is PERFECT for all occasions. There are distinct areas that you can rent. During the pandemic, the owner went out of his way to help us set up the bridal shower, make sure the area was well ventilated, but also included heat lamps and fans so we would be comfortable. There is also an Air Conditioned tasting room that was super comfortable. I've bought cases of their wine and they make fantastic gifts. When just visiting, I love all of the activities they have and the wines. I will definitely be back and hope to host more events here.

They are doing a great job of growing varietals that do well in central Virginia, Petit Manseng, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, etc. I tasted most of their white wines, and liked ALL of them, which is quite a surprise for this California boy. They are creating some really nice variations, like Petit Manseng (2024 vintage) that does not hit you over the head with pineapple, and has great balance. Their Pinot Gris had a strong fruit component and more complexity than most, good acid without making your mouth pucker. The Viognier is less performed and drier than most, with good body and balance. They serve charcuterie that is locally prepared, and have a large cheerfully tasting room with comfortable couches and fireplaces for the winter. It's air conditioned and very comfortable right now, with great views of the vineyards. This is a family owned vineyard, and Noel and his wife and son were all charming and knowledgable. Strongly recommended! Ask them about the horse track next door, and you will learn some local history and family background that is not well known in the area.

My favorite was the 2023 Norton. My husband's favorite was the 2023 Got Everything, a blend of several varietals. At first look from the parking lot, you'd think it was a tiny place. But once inside you feel how big it is. The upstairs has a cozy area with couches. The large nearly floor to ceiling windows face west to watch the sunset. You're also facing the barn with a large field and rolling hills. The horses and cows have plenty of acreage to roam. It's mid fall, but when the sun came out the large patio was warm enough to enjoy the outdoor seating. They had live music and a small bbq tent set up. Both were great. Definitely coming back again.

I enjoyed the Governor's Flight, and from the first pour, I knew this place was special. The wines were beautifully crafted, the presentation charming and eclectic, with each tasting served in unique vintage glassware that somehow feels elegant, fun, and completely unpretentious. The standout for me was the Village Estate Reserve. The aromatics immediately pulled me in, and the palate just kept evolving -- balanced, expressive, smooth, and revealing new layers of flavor with every sip. One of those wines that makes you stop mid-conversation just to appreciate what's happening in your glass. Their dogs are sweet and roam around looking for a pet here and there. There is a refrigerator filled with meats and cheeses and some waters and juices for you to purchase. But alas, their wines are just not good. The two whites we tried today lacked any kind of flavor and the reds honestly bordered on vinegar. I could tell right away by the color and the smell of the cab franc that it was off and one sip proved that. I want to like this vineyard because they are so kind and they try so hard but they really need another winemaker.

The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. There were horses roaming around, which added such a peaceful charm. As we explored, I kept noticing thoughtful and unique touches everywhere--from a stunning wine tree to large decorative clay pots, and even buildings designed to resemble a Greek town that house classic cars. It all made the experience feel extra special. There was a wedding taking place, so part of the property was closed off, but it was easy to see how perfect this venue would be for an intimate "I do." Inside the main building, they offered a great selection of food, an impressive wine list available by the glass, bottle, or flight, and hands down the best wine slush I've ever had. My only critique is that it seemed like the AC wasn't working inside, and I really felt for the bartenders who were working so hard as it got busier throughout the day. We could not believe how good the food was- it was worth a trip in its own right! It's on the pricier side but it is clear why, the plates wouldn't be out of place at a fine dining restaurant. We also had the kindest server, Chelsie, who made our experience so special and memorable! She stopped by to chat several times, gave us great recommendations, and she could not have been nicer to me and my friends. We were lucky enough to attend our dear friends' wedding here and it was a spectacular wedding venue. The space is just beautiful and the catering was incredible- some of the best wedding food we've had by far. We liked it so much we came back to visit the tasting room the next day :) This is a perfect stop on the way to Charlottesville from the DMV and a gorgeous place to spend an afternoon.
