I'm pretty athletic and in shape but wow this class really does make me feel muscles I never new existed! During covid I have ran 5-7x a week about 5-7 miles a day but this class with Michelle is just killer. I recently attended my first pilates class with Mari at Betterbody Fitness after completing many many classes at Club Pilates. Going into my session with Mari I felt ready to take on a more in depth training to see exactly where my Pilates practice was at. And let me tellll you Mari completely excelled in giving me the full body workout I've been seeking. The hour long session with Mari felt above and beyond what I am used to. Considering that the lowest spring available on the Reformer at Club Pilates is a blue spring and the workouts are often limited because instructors play it very safe and are way too concerned about clients potentially hurting themselves. It felt great to be encouraged to try more challenging and control based pilates moves. During my session with Mari we used the yellow spring requiring more control which was new to me, but challenging in the best way. She introduced me to at least 3/4 different principle pilates moves I had never tried before. Mari was attentive and maintained dialogue throughout our session about muscle engagement. She went the extra mile in using her PT skills to evaluate my form and reminded when to lift or pivot to better maintain form. The studio was clean and the general environment felt great. I went in for a Saturday morning group session and it was so fun! It was my first Pilates class ever and I didnt know what to expect but it was perfect as all of the exercises and stretches were well explained and modifications were explained as well to make certain things harder and easier according to our ability levels. Even though it was a group class, our instructor Alexis was very attentive to each of us and made sure we all had correct form. It was just hard enough for me to feel the burn and leave me a little sore the next day, but not too difficult as to where I struggled as a beginner. Overall I highly recommend BetterBody and their group classes even if you've never done Pilates, and the workers there are very nice and welcoming! read more

I'm new to the world of Pilates but after having my baby a year and a half ago, and still carrying the pregnancy weight, I wanted to try something different than just boxing and yoga. I was hesitant, but when I drove up to Better Bodies, a woman came out that had the most amazing body I have seen that wasn't photoshopped! (I later learned she was in her 60's- are you kidding me??? I want that body at 40, let alone 60!) The women inside were all so inspiring and the welcoming atmosphere...well, I felt right at home, even as a beginner. The owner and staff here are amazing women!!! Truly, lovely human beings and it is a pleasure walking in the door. As for the workout- Wow! These ladies have moves that would bring my ringside trainer to his knees (I'd honestly love to see that ;) & I could feel the burn within minutes, under their careful instruction on correct form. My first lesson, I was sore LEAVING the studio & knew I'd had a great workout. A few days later, I could still feel that core workout, but I made it in for another lesson- I'm definitely hooked and eager to see my body a year from now. Keep up the great work ladies! read more

I am a massage therapist that does pain management, and was looking for a Pilates studio in the area that really focuses on each person as an individual, even in a group setting. And let me say... I got what I was looking for! I had Jennifer, and before we got started she asked the 2 newbies (myself and another) if we had any injuries, pain or restrictions that she should be aware of. This SHOULD be asked of every person, but most places just dont do it. So hats off to Jennifer for standing above the rest! The rest of our class went great, and she even tailored certain movements differently to us newbies, as well as the others who were more experienced. What an amazing place to go for a fantastic workout.
