It's unrealistic to think that every company you apply for will love you, but Betts does a good job in giving you useful feedback if a company isn't a match for you. Several of my interviews were on Skype, etc and if you've never participated in an interview of that sort before it can be a little strange. Brooke did a great job of reaching out and making sure I was prepared for every avenue of interview I dealt with (offered to do mock Skype interview with me, etc). What I really appreciated was how quickly Brooke responded to me questions, even via text if it was a last minute question on an interview i had scheduled. Overall a great experience. I am a student who will graduate soon and I have been looking around for a while to secure a job once I graduate. I actually have 6 years of experience in Marketing and as a Customer Success Manager on my belt before I decided to go back to school. I submitted my resume and Emily called me today asked me what kind of industry I want to work at and what kind of role, I told her I want to do something similar like I did last time and then the next second she told me that I don't have the experience for the job that I want. She said usually you need to have 1-7 years of experience. Apparently, she thought that I only had internship experiences (who is doing an internship for 6 years?). Clearly, She didn't even read my resume beforehand because once I told her that I HAVE some experiences, she paused and asked me to wait. She also asked my origin(I am an immigrant), which is also very unprofessional. Pretty much sure that it is illegal to ask that. I understand about work permit, but origin has nothing to do with my permit. As much as I don't want to blame her, It is clear that she needs training. The company should train her properly before letting her call any potential customers. read more

At first they seems professional. I had a quick call from JB. He asked me what I am looking for and where. Then nothing during the few next weeks... 5 weeks later, another email from Jen to apologize because it was long,... She proposed me a call and she also told me to be 'a resource for me'. Good surprise! Since I was on vacation out of the country I replied few hours later and offer her a timing for the call for the week after. Since then, no news...again. I think, as pro recruiter they obviously know job hunting is a really frustrating and painful process, mostly because of the nonexistent communication between the seeker and the employer. As a job seeker I would expected a bit more communication with a specialist. But, when even the recruiting agency doesn't reply to you, it makes the experience even more painful than ever. This review is for Jen Seatris: I had worked in the real estate finance industry for over four years. After deciding that I wanted to make a career change and get a fresh start in tech software sales, my roommate (tech salesperson) referred me to Betts Recruiting. I was paired with Jen Seatris in early April. Jen and I instantly built rapport with each other and I instantly felt after my initial on-site consultative interview that she had my best interests in mind. She explained in detail what to look for when changing careers, and assured me that my move was common. She also assured me that she believed that I could be a successful salesperson judging by my personality traits and business-focused demeanor. After the pleasantries were exchanged between Jen and I, we collectively embarked on a challenging job search. We peppered somewhere between 10-15 tech companies in San Francisco, all of which she was able to set up 15-30 minute phone interviews. Some phone interviews didn't go as well as hoped due to my lack of sales experience, but Jen was able to schedule me for several on-site interviews with companies that I really yearned for in which I was very pleased about. Throughout the entire interview process, Jen and I had a very open communication line where we would speak over the phone or via email at least 3-5 times during the week. We were always very open and honest with each other about prospective companies, and she always gave me candid feedback on why a certain company liked me and why another would not. As a straight shooter, I genuinely appreciated that. After over 20 to 30 phone and on-site interviews, I received a really good job offer for a cool, yet established software startup in Silicon Valley. I accepted the position after consulting with Jen's expertise regarding offers and benefits. Overall, I was very pleased with Betts service. I wasn't impressed with this agency despite all the 5 star reviews. When I met with them their focus seemed very narrow and mostly concentrated on tech positions. All the positions were inside sales and most didn't have great comp plans. I suppose if you are under 30 and looking for a tech sales career, Betts might be a decent option.
