Not good at all. Ordered a chicken quesadilla that said it came with 2 quesadillas. Asked, what's on it? " A side of guacamole and sour cream." Inside it? " Ur choice of meat and cheese." What did i get? One quesadilla with taco sauce on it. EW. Sent it back and got i think probably the same one with just a new tortilla because she came back in 2 seconds. The chicken was not good. The quesadilla had peppers and potatoes in it? Uhm.. I'm Mexican and I don't think this is authentic. Girl didn't even know Spanish and how to pronounce horchata. Don't recommend. Ok, when you ask "what's on your fajita salad?" And our lettuce tomato and whatever meat you want on the salad you say OK that sounds great. when your salad arrives and it has cheese, sautéed vegetables which I'm not opposed to, and you look at the waitress and say it has cheese on it she shrugged her shoulders. You kind of wonder. The lettuce is shredded iceberg. I don't think there were any tomatoes on it and I got shrimp as my protein. The salad all in all was good however, the waitress should know what's on the salad that's on the menu that they bring to your table. Not sure I'll be going back. read more

The only thing that I would improve on at Betty's is their salsa. Their salsa is pretty good, but not amazing. Their chips are excellent!Their food is good quality, well prepared and nicely priced with pretty good portions. Wait staff is friendly and efficient. I love Bettys. I've been coming here since I was a teenager.many years ago ! lol the food and service has always been superb. My only complaint would be obviously the parking lot. Sometimes you have to park down the street and it's a pain to get in and out. I wish they would expand. They would make a lot more revenue a lot of times I'll drive by and if it's too crowded, I just keep going I imagine many others do the same thing. Family owned an operated. Great food read more

Delicious! My favorite is the chile relleno, but their chile verde and chicken soup are also very good. We have always been seated right away and had great service there. Their prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. We are so happy to have this gem in Live Oak! read more

Betty's has been my man's favourite Mexican restaurant for 10 years now. The Pandemic shut-down created some problems, but they are still in business and the cooks are doing great. We were there last Wednesday. We had their great salsa & chips ( I added guacamole since the salsa was a little too spicy for me ) We shared the Combo (Chicken & Steak ) Fajitas with added Shrimp. It was delicious. And we even had leftovers! And don't ask us about Desserts because we are always too full to even think about that. read more

This place is so good! Mexican is always our go to and have tried LOTS of places. To make our 5 star list it must have good salsa, chips, margaritas and fajitas and this place had all of theses! All the meat was super tender and yummy! Plus the staff was super nice and attentive. We live in Oroville and will now be driving to Live oak for Betty's! Prices are reasonable and portions are huge. They are not that great at all, their chili rellano was dry no sauce, beef burrito was very dry and only dry meat put in it. Taco shell was hard and over cooked meat was dry.. will not waste my money here too many other good Mexican restaurants out there and worse taco salad have ever had beans were soupy and made every thing soggy was gross meat was soooo dry and over cooked or old? A friend recommended this restaurant to me and my boyfriend while we were in town. Words can't express how disappointed me and my boyfriend were. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which came with rice and beans. The chicken quesadilla was lacking cheese and chicken. The tortilla was over cooked and I also found it odd that the quesadilla had potatoes and peppers inside. The beans had no flavor and the rice was crunchy. I also ordered a side of guacamole and it didn't taste fresh, it had a ton of lime in it. I took a few bites of my dinner and that's all I could stomach. My boyfriend ordered a tamales and his tasted like it was out of a can. He also had an enchilada which was basically just chunks of dried pork. They are supposed to open at 10:30am. Maybe they partied too much last night. It's 10:38am. I come from out of town. They have really good menudo. Now I know to call first to make sure they are open. Now I have to find somewhere else to eat. I was about to leave but noticed them opening. I went in and was seated. I ordered the menudo but they said they wouldn't have any until 4pm. What happened to Betty's?! It was always my go-to place for Mexican food. Went there with a friend and ordered Chile Colorado and got something that didn't resemble it at all. Saw Betty's on my garmin and decided to stop. My first thought was when I saw the outside sign. It looked as if it had beeen there for years, which to me is always a good sign. Upon entering, I was greeted with a very nice, smiling lady. I looked over the menu and decided to try yet another variation of Chili Colorado. It is very hard to find one that suites my taste. She told me it would take about 20 minutes and that was fine because I needed to hit up the local store before going back to Gridley. I picked up a box that had mine and my son's giant burrito. She also gave me a cup free of chili verdi, which I don't normally eat, but this stuff has converted me. Back to my dinner. It was off the hook good and a very generous amount. Bettys is my favorite stop when I travel between yuba city and up north. They always give plenty of food and it is delicious. I really enjoy their crispy tacos and green sauce enchiladas. Just be careful when backing out of parking lot as that is a main highway behind you. read more

Not the worst mexican I've ever had, but I wouldn't use the word "authentic" in the title either, my grandmother would slap me if I did. Its dark, I prefer much more light when I'm dinning. Their building doesn't allow for natural sunlight to come in either which kind of bothers me. It makes me feel like I'm in a mexican bomb shelter. The food isn't bad, but it always tastes like it could be better, as if its missing something and I can't put my finger on what it is. The rice needs more flavor and the beans seem watered down. I can't really complain about the salsa. I like it, and they have a spicier one too, but you have to ask for it. They have a ridiculous extra fee for guacamole. On some meals, my feeling is that it should just be standard. read more

We're vegan, and some places look at you like you're aliens when asked if they can change it up a bit. Not here. I moved to Gridley nearly two years ago and drive by Betty's on a regular basis, always saying to myself that I should try it out one of these days. The day finally came. I was headed home but craving chile rellenos so I pulled into Bettys to give them a try. It was mid-week and a bit late so there were just a few other diners in the place. I was quickly seated and received the complementary chips and salsa fresca. I ordered a combo plate including the rellenos I wanted so badly. Within minutes my server returned to tell me that they were out of rellenos. Just my luck! I selected a taco instead of the rellenos, along with a tamale and enchilada. While waiting for my food I was approached several times to make sure I had enough chips, salsa and soda. Every time an employee passed by they looked to be sure I was okay. The staff didn't disturb me but I certainly felt well attended to. My dinner was delivered quickly and was well presented. The enchilada sauce is 'different' and took some getting used to for me. The other items were quite good although the taco got a bit soggy by the time I got to it. For me the biggest draw to Betty's will be the service. It didn't matter who my server was or whose area I was sitting in. Everyone working here seemed to really care about me as a customer. They took good care of me without being pushy or disruptive.
