We went here to Antonio's quick lunch late night as it was one of the few restaurants around highway 99 open late into the night despite its name. It is situated on the 20 as it cuts across the 99. So there was plenty of traffic at 10 pm, and a decent amount of customers. The food was unexpectedly really good authentic Mexican food. We had low expectations given time of night in this area, but it was a very pleasant surprise. Very reasonable prices for the quality and quantity. Good service. First thing I noticed walking in this afternoon was how hot it was inside. (No A/C?) the second thing I noticed was it's $5 and some change for CHIPS AND SALSA. I should have walked out right then and there, but I gave them a chance and decided to get nachos. I still get chips right? lol- but I wasn't laughing for long. They charged me $2 for a tiny plastic cup of guacamole. The little meat that came on the nachos was bland and they gave me root beer instead of Dr. Pepper. AMAZING FOOD. I'm extremely picky about Mexican food. I used to have a favorite in Sacramento but they closed down due to retirement. I'd been going there since being in a high chair. After a long day of work, no one in our home wanted to cook or had the energy to prepare meals. My wife and I stopped by this place to pick up a few burritos and it was a great idea. What I appreciate most about this place is the taste of the burritos and the Attention that they give to any special orders. Sometimes we receive orders that are very spicy even though we've asked for the salsa to be put on the side or not be included at all. This place seems to get a lot of traffic so I imagine that things may be forgotten from time to time. In this particular experience, everything came out perfect! I personally had the breakfast burrito which was packed with good protein good flavor and good temperature. Aside from the burritos, the french fries or second to none. I get that other company french fries might be nostalgic or have a certain taste, but this place knows how to make french fries correctly. If you are visiting this place for the first time, you can eat in or go through the drive-through or take out. I would caution you to be mindful of how you drive through the drive-through so please be sure to pay attention when you're driving. I would also encourage you to speak up clearly through the intercom when you are making your order Because employees are taking orders from the drive-through as well as those who are eating in. This place was a popular Mexican meals spot in the little Yuba city, and I have stopped by to get tamales several times. But wanted to grab a steak salad after work at drive thru. The lines was insane considering, the tiny space they had. We waited patiently opposite until the line slowed down a big, and I ordered my steak salad with no cheese! Got home and find my salad plate with no single meat or steak, and I was really mad, called the numbers on the receipt with no response and cannot drive back. I figure I would leave them some note here, because it's unethical to serve such plate. I'm not looking for your damn refunds, just for the sake of other customers, deliver what was paid for, stop acting too busy in making a salad bowl. How on earth do you have the audacity to hand me that empty plate and took my money. Why's the office line now working, why's no one answering your phone. Me and my friends ate in at this restaurant and the experience was amazing. I got five tacos for the price of 9.40 which is crazy good to me I'm not gonna lie. Used to be my favorite place for good burritos. They have been messing up their orders a lot lately. Charges you a couple of dollars for a tiny sour cream on the side but forgets to give it to you with your order. Then my receipt clearly says "regular veggie burrito" and I got home with an all meat burrito . When called to complain instead of apologizing the lady on the phone goes "there are so many burritos I'm sure it happened by mistake. You can come pick up the correct one". It's the NOT the same Antonio's from before. Tried 5 different tacos and all of them were so cute and tiny and not seasoned, had drown them in hot sauce!!! The burrito is skinny and small and it's 90% beans, 5% meat and rice. The food quality went down. The portions size went down. The service is mediocre. The flavor went down. There is no parking as Half of the parking is roped off. The only thing that keeps going up are the prices!!! I don't mind paying high prices as long as the we get good service, quality fresh food, and most important is consistent food that tastes delicious.
