If i could give this place zero stars i would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. The servers are very unprofessional and did not serve the people when they asked for more food even tho it was supposed to be an "all you can eat and all you can drink". As you can see they do not keep their word. Aside from that the place gives dirty dishes. One of the guests got a cup with lipstick on it. Betty's is a one stop shop which is perfect for a stress free experience. My husband and I held our wedding there and were blown away by the service, food, flowers and decorations. I didn't have many ideas on what I wanted but Betty was able to create an experience that satisfied the both of us - From the linen options to the amazing flower arrangements. My flowers were so gorgeous! I can't get over them! And the food - Our guests kept telling us how great the food was and loved the buffet option since there was so much variety. The dessert table included Dominican treats and well as a chocolate fountain. The Pina colada was a favorite of adults and kids alike. We had approximately 26 in our wedding party and were accommodated in the bridal suite. They were able to eat and destress before the party started. Be sure to attend their open house so you can taste the food. You won't be disappointed! Lastly, Betty is the most positive, hard working woman I have ever met. I run a senior program in Queens, and was looking for a local caterer for a Thanksgiving luncheon, and hoping to find one that meets the State's minority/women-owned business certification. Betty's was one of the very few in our area. Betty came through for us. She brought everything possible with her - tablecloths, dinnerware, even extra trash bags! And the food was delicious! Everything was perfect - the turkey was flavorful, the steamed vegetables were perfect, and pasta side was beautifully seasoned. (It's really hard to keep white turkey meat moist - and steamed vegetables from getting mushy, especially when using chafing dishes!)I also want to add that the tossed salad was amazing - fresh, with sliced apples, and the seniors couldn't get enough of it. Her staff was also really great - they helped some of the more frail seniors with their plates, they never rushed anyone through the line, and they kept the buffet area clean of spills. I will definitely be using Betty's again, and recommend them to others. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a florist. I didn't know such a thing existed. I ordered flowers that were displayed on their online site. I was called twice to be informed that one, they did not have the same tropical flowers that were on the site, but had similar and equally as attractive flowers to substitute. And two, that they did not have fresh bamboo, but dry ones that will complement the arrangement. Both times I made sure to ask if they think the arrangement would be equally as exquisite as my original request, she assured me yes. When I arrived at the shop, the flowers were whithering, drying, and browning. The bamboo was spray-painted an artificial green and cut without care. The vase was not even the one I ordered. I was quite upset (this was supposed to be a gift for my mother's 60th birthday), and asked her to make a few changes to try to salvage the piece. In the end, I agreed to purchase it even though I was unhappy with the product. Simultaneously an associate said to me, "Well, no one is forcing you to take it. No one is putting a gun to your head." I thought, wow, first, you try to sell me something that is egregiously not the same quality that I paid for, and then you are rude to me after I agreed to purchase it anyway. I agreed with the associate and walked out. Conclusively, if you are looking for flowers, don't look here. read more

I went to the recent open house and I have also been to this venue for a holiday event. Both times I experienced a very unpleasant waitress. She has taken my drinks when i'm not looking and constantly avoids all eye contact. She seems completely miserable working there and does not give good customer service at all. I asked a second waitress who passed our table for a drink since she the first one took ours away. The second waitress went to make the drinks and handed it to the first waitress to bring to us. Instead of bringing the drinks to our table she gives it to the table next to us. The guests in the table looked surprise and made a comment to each other that they didn't even order drinks. So we tried to get her attention and she blatantly ignored us! The second waitress noticed and made another set of drinks and brought it to us. On the buffet line the same waitress had such a sour face. Throughout the night she was chit chatting with the vendors and one particular guest. She walked around slowly and would avoid guests. She definitely has to be related to management somehow because I have never seen such behavior by an employee of a venue! It is especially noticeable since there were only two waitress at this event. One working and the other not working! Therefore it seems like all the work is done by one waitress. The bathrooms were sooooooo narrow and small! It was crowded and uncomfortable with the guests waiting in front of the stalls. I really wouldn't want my 90+ guests to be in that crowded bathroom. Considering how many stairs and how long the hall way is that leads to the bathroom you would think it would be a bigger and more comfortable. Also, there are gum stains in the stairs leading to the lower level with should be removed. Unfortunately, the cake was stale for the open house but it was not for the holiday event we attended. The music was great both times. The food was also good at both events including the cocktail hour buffet and the entree buffet. Customer service can be a whole lot better as whole besides just the waitress. It seemed pretty unorganized in the beginning of the event. read more

Pros:This place receives 4 stars simply because of how beautiful the main room is! (I think it was called skylight room or moon light room) It was a beautiful sunny day, and the sun was shining in to the room. I fell in love on that alone. It was a buffet style wedding, which i'm not against at all. I love buffets! It was spanish food and it was pretty good. However, they needed more than one person serving it. While the line moved pretty quickly, it would have been more efficient with a 2nd or 3rd person serving it up. The bar was very small and in the corner, but perfect for this venue. I was unsure if this was a byob kind of place where you supply your own alcohol, or if they provide open bar packages. Either way, I was glad to have an open bar, and valet, they have valet. Cons: it is in a very congested area. YOu may even miss it if you're not actively on the look out. You wouldn't think it's as nice if you were judging by its outside look. Don't try to park yourself, use the valet. However, it was only 2 guys for valet, so you may want to leave before the crowds. Bathrooms - bathrooms are so far (and downstairs) it feels like you're traveling across the world to get to them. They're also really small. The first stall was tiny, I could barely open the door to get out. Totally not wedding dress friendly. Downstairs (basement) area pretty outdated looking, not a fan of it. What saves this place is that main room ... it's beautiful. When I get married I would love a room like that. Wish I had taken pictures to post. read more

Incredibly unprofessional my family has paid thousands for an event that due to the pandemic cannot happen and is totally understandable. That being said we have not heard from anyone on the team or management from bettys catering or total events whatever name they choose to use no return email no reply on social media and no call back to voicemails. The Quality of the food or service at this point is irrelevant we don't know if its good or not yet so I cannot speak on that this is a poor way to run a business and i hope as many people as possible read this and choose to take their business elsewhere. Terrible customer service and zero fundamental business ability posting on social media and deliberately disregarding customers attempts to resolve issues that they have created. Sad I hope places that operate this way do not survive this pandemic. They're using the pandemic to deny refunds and keep their poorly operated business going. As a guest at a graduation party I must say I was very impressed with this venue. The room was very clean and spacious and decorated very beautifully. The food was very good and the wait staff was excellent. They were constantly asking us if we need a drink, filled up our water and cleared out plates fairly quickly once we were done eating. The only convenience of setting up an event at Betty's is that it's an all in one venue- transportation, flowers, attire/dress, decor, catering, etc. Not sure if the service has improved at all by the looks of the reviews. I originally scheduled an appt. with Betty's a few years ago when in search of venues for a baptism. I was given a tour by a nice elderly lady who explained that the venue was ideal for weddings, baptism, parties, birthdays, etc. And, that it was extremely convenient given the fact that it's all in one. She scheduled an appointment for the next day to come in around 5pm. I was actually pretty excited since the venue allowed enough space for hosting the occasion. And, I did not have to worry about contacting different vendors to work with for the event. The day of the appointment, I had called and spoke to one of the staff at the office. I let her know that I was in the area but was running a few mins. late to park the car. Unfortunately, their venue did not have a guest parking zone. Unless an event was already reserved at their premise. Street parking was obviously hard to find esp in a residential area. She told me it was not going to be a problem. They normally hold an appt up to 15 mins. I'm not sure if that was the same person that I spoke with, when I arrived, the office was filled with several people that were waiting. And, that was not the worst part. I approach one of their staff member who already had a customer at her desk! She had a scowled look on her face and seem rather annoyed. I figured, maybe there were other staff or a manager on hand to take my appointment. She looked at her watch and told me, "Your appointment was at 5, it is now 5:15pm." I told her that I had just confirmed my appointment with someone over the phone. She flatly told me, "Well, I have another customer right now." She then point to a whole row of customers waiting. And, she had no difficulty implying that it was best that I reschedule. "It would take over another hour since there are 4 other ppl. You can walk around in the neighborhood and come back later". Wow, really?!! So within a few mins, you just happen to take in another appointment. It seem like the customer was already in the middle of finalizing few of their services. I told her, that was fine. I would take my business elsewhere. And their staff should double check to make sure someone is actually available when they confirm an appointment. Honestly, it was a waste of my time. They are def way understaffed since only 1 person attends to all of the appointments. The attitude was just a complete turn-off! I understand that Corona caters predominantly to a Latino community. And, it personally felt like she paid more attention to the fact that I was neither Latina nor fluent in Spanish so she decided to wave past me. It's a shame b/c I honestly would had love to had host an event there. I guess they don't really need business b/c they can afford to turn away appointments. I would not recommend this place at all to friends or family- even my friends who are Latinos/Latinas. read more

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Betty's Catering on May 15, 2010 and were amazed at the tremendous job Betty and her staff did to make our wedding day remarkable! Right from the start we knew that Betty's Catering was the venue to host our special day. Betty and her staff were so warm and inviting, and are experts at knowing how to cater an event. Betty shared with us all the options but was also very accommodating to create the atmosphere we were looking for. Betty and her staff were easy to work with and a whole lot of fun too through out the planning process. The best part was that Betty made our wedding day the way we wanted it, and not just fit us into a mold. Betty's staff, especially Modesto, were wonderful, professional and very attentive to every detail. The whole place looked absolutely beautiful, and Betty even went out of her way to create an ambiance that drew us and our guests into another world; a world of love, peace and joy that made our wedding day a special day to remember for many years to come. We felt welcomed, loved and the center of attention, like a King and Queen! Our guests also expressed that the service from Betty's catering and staff was exceptional; the cocktails and buffet food were very delicious and the venue fabulous and beautifully decorated with elegance. We absolutely loved all the flower arrangements for the table centerpieces and chapel, which were all included in our package. Our wedding cake, included in the package, was very delicious and moist. Went to a wedding at Betty's Catering and my first impression was chaos. The hall is located on a very busy street and it was very hectic getting to the valet, which takes your car to some unknown location away from the hall. Once in the building, it was a search for the ceremony area, there was no employees letting guests know where they should go. A few guests walked into the reception area and the employees setting up didn't even acknowledge them or tell them they should go downstairs. The ceremony room is a cute intimate space, you can fit much people in the room but the set up was done very nicely. The hall provided the flowers and they did a good job. Due to the size of the room, it was a little difficult to see everything that was going on because the photographer/videographer had to stand right in front of everyone in order to get their shots. The bathrooms are small, it was very difficult trying to get into a stall in a dress and not touch anything. It was odd that the toilets would only flush if you closed the lid, and not many people figured that out so the bathrooms were a little gross and dark. No bathroom attendants. The reception room is a good size, I thought the tables were going to be a little cramped but it was comfortable seating. The AC was blasting so it was very cold in the room. The food was good, it had flavor unlike some other halls. The bar is really a mini bar in the corner of the room; where they pour pina colada's out of plastic containers and set glasses of soda on the bar for guests to take. I didn't get to try the cake; while I was dancing someone ate my slice but I heard it was good. I did think it was a little weird that the maitre' d cut the cake for the bride and groom, rather than allowing them to take photos cutting the cake. My overall review is that Betty's catering is a nice small hall for a small intimate party/wedding. You don't get all the extras that cost a lot of money but you do get a place that will take care of your flowers, which is great. read more

So, after an exhausting search for Brooklyn catering halls for our small 70-person wedding, we decided to venture out into queens. Betty's was one of the first places I contacted and I am very happy with how things turned out. I read the reviews on here before booking for our wedding and I went into the situation knowing that they may not always be as responsive as I needed them to be, but that they will do a great job on our day. Venue: Betty's is an all-inclusive space. They do everything there, except transportation services. We made an appointment to do a walk through as see the space. The main floor (upstairs) has a beautiful open reception space. It was too big for our group, but great! The downstairs space is simpler but very pretty. They the downstairs area as a ceremony space as well. Downstairs is decorated in a simple cream decor...you can add your own colors through linens and florals. The bathrooms are small. I used the handicap stall...it was the only one I could fit into with my wedding dress. I would like to see larger bathrooms and maybe an attendant for events, but that may up the cost of the space. Food: Betty's has a mix of italian/caribbean/spanish food. Unlike most halls, everything is seasoned, hot, and very tasty. My Jamaican family and friends were very happy with the cocktail hour and dinner foods. The bar was nice, it was a simple mini bar in the corner of the room, but everyone was happy with the quality of the wines and cocktails. My boss is very fancy when it comes to her wines and she gave their wine 4 stars! I would have likes more options for the cake. We went to an open house and sampled the four cake choices. We went with a guava flavor. Everyone loved it but it wouldn't have been my 1st or 2nd choice. Our cake was decorated beautifully. Again, this is arranged by Betty's. Customer Service: When we first met Betty she assured us that she takes care of her employees and it shows. Everyone loved the attention to detail, customer services, and quality of service at our reception. The staff was attentive, warm, and smiled all day. As a Bride, I felt taken care of...you have someone assigned to you for the reception and she took care of us. I did have a friend working as as my day-of-coordinator, so I didn't have to deal with too many details during our reception. Overall: Overall, I am very happy with how things turned out @ Betty's catering. Its not the fanciest place, but I'm not a fancy person. We wanted someplace small and warm, with great food! We got that. The only negative thing I can say, was our flowers weren't as purple as I had requested, but the room looked beautiful and my guests had a GREAT time!! I recently celebrated my birthday party at Betty's catering. The price was excellent but the food was not. I was very disappointed with the food. It was bad, it seemed it was not recently cooked and it didn't taste good at all. I also dislike the fact that workers started cleaning with my guests still there!!! I never seen such a thing in any other venue. Maybe the workers need to learn until the party is completely over before cleaning. I attended a wedding at Betty's Catering and let me tell you the Manager who runs that place is soooo arrogant. She was telling everyone to check their coats downstairs in the coat check. If you were cold and you wanted to hold it, she would harass you until you had no choice but to take it downstairs. I guess they like making money charge $2 per coat. It's a catering hall so there should not be a fee? Also not really what she says but the way she says things which such arrogance. The place is lovely but keep in mind that the bathrooms are downstairs and it's a pain to be going up and down especially with heels. The bathrooms are very crappy! You hardly have space to close the door. I'm glad I was a guest. I would never do anything there. The food was blah...Also the Manager is in and out checking to make sure all is running on time but she is not dressed in jeans and t-shirt for a wedding, black-tie event does not go hand in hand. read more

My wedding was on October 4, 2008. We had looked at least at 7 wedding Venues in queens and I was not happy. I hate those places with fake plants in the backgroundsand rugs that smell like beer from 10 years ago. Betty's Catering was a place we had checked out on line but i thought it may be too expensive - from the beautiful pictures on-line. My patient Fiance told me, "Honey, why don't you call that place with the skylight ceiling and see if they have our date and book an appointment." and i did. When we went to see the place, I knew this was where i wanted to be married. Just a beautiful place!!! Real flowers, a new floor, scones on the walls and ohhh that sky light window...WOW!! We sat down with Betty herself and created a budget and she took care of the rest. Did i mention that this place even included decorating my Church which had more than $2000 worth of flowers in it!! Included in my budget were all the arrangements for the reception tables, all the decorations at the reception including the the wedding party flowers and my bouquet (which was heavy because Betty has pristine taste and doesn't do anything small). The following were included in our budget: Reception for 5 hours. Table linen, menus, and beautiful arrangement of flower everywhere even in the bathrooms! assembled my favors,a bridal bouquet to my house the morning of the wedding, all top shelf liquor, a cocktail hour and buffet in a separate room and a sit-down dinner, cake I selected, my own maittre'd - that was with me the whole night, approximately 5-7 waiters and bartenders, ballet parking, a bridal suite with food and cocktails galore! Did i mention I even had a roasted pig for the cocktail hour!!! I am sure i forgot to mention more but you get the idea... I have to say that when you look for the person who puts all of this together you are looking for a giant! Betty is no giant but her desire and passion to make your day a dream makes up for her height. She is very gentle and just a wonderful person. I can't say enough about this place. The location is always very beautifully decorated and I know I can rely on my events turning out well with no worries. Had placed an order on Sunday 08/18/13 for a delivery on 08/21/13 a day before my girlfriends birthday. Delivery was scheduled after 0630 pm and I receive a couple of voice messages stating non-availabilty of some flowers. Fine, I call them the next i.e. today as to they calling me instead at 1000 am , its 1125 am now and am still waiting for delivery. Called again a little while ago and was told the arrangement was yet to be made. This was my first order with them as I am used to Dana's Flower Shop, the only reason being the proximity to my girlfriends house. Needless to say, I will never ever use them again. For now I have been told it would be delivered in half hour........lets see ! read more

Unreliable. Did not deliver at the requested date (Mother's Day 2013). When asked for explanation they said they thought nobody would be at home on mother's day ???? Apparently they did not had such worries about the day before mother's day. They did not offer any solution or compensation to me as a disappointed customer. Don't buy from them if you need your flowers delivered on a specific day. They will agree to that day and then deliver whenever they feel like it. The flowers were pretty though and reasonably priced. However, not being able to rely upon the agreed delivery times is a a big problem. read more

On July 18th 2014, Betty's Catering made my dream Sweet 16 come true. The color scheme made everything fall into pieces. The food was home-made and got plenty of great reviews from everyone. The decorations were breath taking, the center pieces consisted of exotic beautiful flowers and the cake was made to my desire. Everything was absolutely perfect ! Betty's Catering also suggested DJ's, Photographers, Limousine Services that they had previously used for my party and overall I use most of them and they were amazing ! I tried on numerous occasions to set up an appointment to view this venue but it became a mission impossible. I was told that they were "very busy, but that they would call me back to see if they could squeeze me in on a certain day"...this happened twice, and no one called me...how busy can they possibly be??? Other venues give you a window of time to show the space with no appointment. With time being of the essence, I decided to head over to Betty's without an appt. Once there, I spoke to a young girl and told her that I was there to view the venue if possible. She disappeared for 10 minutes, came back and told me that I couldn't view the space. I explained that I had already corresponded via email and all I needed was a few minutes to see the venue and that I would then contact them again. She disappeared again, only this time she never returned. As I waited, a man wheeling a dolly asked if he could help and I explained again. He said "of course you can view the space" and he started to ask a woman to show me the space and she answered back in spanish that I couldn't see it, he asked why not and she said that they were setting up for a party and that if he wanted to he could do it. She was incredibly rude...I wonder how they can turn away new business that way? I followed the man, who was very nice and explained that I had received emails from Jahaidy and that my daughter loved the place and highly considered it. He said that she was in the "flower shop" next door that I could go see her. Once there, I again faced resistance and to make matters worse the girl who had left me waiting was in the flower shop taking care of other duties...I thanked her for letting me wait like an idiot next door. After that, I ruled out the place completely. As far as them being too busy...yeah, they're too busy being rude to clients. The venue is nice, but the people running it need a lesson on manners and professionalism. I can only imagine what happens once you book the place and they have your money.
