(Bad habit, I know) I was listening to the radio while driving the Dodgers were playing game 7. So I pulled over to get my smokes, I noticed the World Series was on. The workers were watching the game. My eldest daughter called and I was talking on the phone for several minutes. The workers weren't tripping at all, that's what's up. I looked up and was watching the World Series on a TV they had. I was multitasking like no other, snapchating, Instagram, Yelp and talking Soto my daughter all at once. You got to have the skills to pay the bills, yo. I was only interested in the game because "Forgetful Lettuce" her nickname (Bae) is a hardcore LA Dodgers fan and she brings it hard on them fools, lol. Saw the conclusion of the World Series. I knew the win made her extremely happy. I got my smokes Marlboro Black. She smokes those and I got hooked. My prefer cigarette we're American spirits. I was just getting the smokes at first then they told me about a 50 cent surcharge. Anything under $10 so I bought some chips so I didn't have to pay that extra fee. Anyways, this is the best liquor store in Stockton if you're a huge "beer snob" like I am. They have a REALLY good craft beer selection. Best of all, if you're looking for something they don't have, they'll order it!! Seriously! I mentioned how much I loved the Stone Delicious IPA and they had 6-packs of it within the next couple of weeks. They have a really cool 22-oz bottle selection too. They're always super helpful when I don't know what I want and they make the best suggestions. This is THE store to go to when I am trying to chill with my beer-loving friends and have a few GOOD beers (sorry Bud Light fans). You won't be disappointed!

Ive been going here on the weekends and grabbing a couple of russian river beers. They are hard to find in Stockton and Herbst always has em fresh. Are the prices the very best... no they are not... but i dont mind paying a local small business tax and supporting the community. They also have a vast selection of liquor. Especially bourbon. Customer service is great as well. I havent gotten the gentlemans name who works the counter, but he is always super helpful and is in a forever great mood. I have shopped at J's liquor for about a year and a half the customers service has been okay…read moredepending on whos working, however they recently added two new employees and from boss to manager to employees they choose what they charge when you use your debit card sometimes it's 50 cent sometimes it's a dollar the receipts are super basic so you can't tell that they're taking your money unless you count it in your head and pay attention. They've been in trouble for serving minors and had to pay the consequences! As time goes on the customer service and integrity of this business is getting worse and worse. I never know what I'm going to get charged and have to debate with employees on a regular basis! I spoke with the manager he said he would handle it but it continues to be an argument and at times it's been aggressive. They almost refused service because we pointed out that we're being overcharged and the employee refused to contact the owner or manager. The integrity at the store has gone down and at this point is pretty much non-existent.
