The selection of beer is awesome for Stockton standards. I found a bunch of IPA's that were awesome.

I always like coming in here from time to time to see what new craft beers they have in stock. They always have a great assortment and i always seem to find a hidden gem. Ok first of all if you're just writing a bad review based on your sucky experience with lotto tickets, you're lame. Anyways, this is the best liquor store in Stockton if you're a huge "beer snob" like I am. They have a REALLY good craft beer selection. Best of all, if you're looking for something they don't have, they'll order it!! Seriously! I mentioned how much I loved the Stone Delicious IPA and they had 6-packs of it within the next couple of weeks. They have a really cool 22-oz bottle selection too. They're always super helpful when I don't know what I want and they make the best suggestions. This is THE store to go to when I am trying to chill with my beer-loving friends and have a few GOOD beers (sorry Bud Light fans). You won't be disappointed! read more

This is really weird because I used to live a few blocks from Herbst DL. Used to go to the Laundry place just a couple of doors from here. They have just about every thing you could possibly want and probably a few things you don't want or need. If it's the odd bottle of something or other you can't find anywhere else then this is the place to go. If it is not in stock they will order it for you. They have gallons, half gallons, pints, half pints and even the little one shot bottles like they used to have on airplanes. They also have a great selection of wines. read more

I have never felt more "un-welcome" in a business like I was here!! Their claim of "luckiest lotto" "most winners" is just a "catch" I have a feeling that they have this "click" with certain customers, and others are just wasting their time. I spend A LOT on lotto when I purchase it, and the 3 times I've been there, the cashier couldn't even smirk a smile, much less a "good luck" or "Thank You" Too make it even worse, that LAST time I went in, the cashier shorted me $10 - I didn't notice until I was in my car, and when I returned to have him double check it, he had the nerve to accuse me of doing it to him before...... I was like..... I have $10 - I don't need it. He didn't even give me a receipt, because he had to dig it out of the garbage to find it, and then tried telling me that the Fantasy 5 tickets were $ 10 per/slip and that's where the missing $$ went. I've ALWAYS played only 2 slips, at $5/slip = $10 NOT $20 - He said, whatever and slammed a 10 on the counter, I told him I didn't want the money.... =( He made me feel like I was trying to rip him for $10.... I spend more than that on lotto per day! I don't need your ten bucks! I guess it was eaiser to accuse their paying customer than to check his lotto machine to find out he was incorrect! I guess he has a problem with admitting that he messed up and was wrong, and blamming customers was easier than apologizing. HERBST Liquors.... I CAME.... I TRIED...... ( 3 TIMES ) AND WAS DISSAPOINTED EVERYTIME !!!! THAT LAST TIME SHOWED ME THE OTHER LOTTO STORE 100 feet away ( with better luck too =) Don't waste your time or money.... they might keep it and then blame you in front of other customers..... I don't frequent this spot only bc I'm never really nearby otherwise I would be here a lot more since we don't have a Total Wine and Bevmo is trash. They have a great selection of beer including special/seasonal releases. The workers are always friendly and cool to talk to. I'll try and make it in here more often. read more

The Craft Beer Store in Stockton! On the outside it looks like just another liquor store... but let me tell you this place is a hidden gem for Craft Beer drinkers. WAY cheaper than BevMo and they have a great beer selection. They have recently been adding to their Craft Beers. Staff are super friendly and pumped up about Craft Beer. They are even willing to take suggestions on what beers to stock. They have hard to find bottles of Excellent beers at extremely good prices. I just moved into the area and after going to a few liquor stores around I really like this place. I know it's weird, but the first thing I noticed is that they have the history channel playing on the television which is just odd but also pretty interesting for a liquor store. I've met two cashiers so far. One man and one woman and they were both extremely welcoming and very kind. They have a great selection of craft beers and little odds and ends you wouldn't think you would need. All in all, I would highly recommend this place. read more

This place is your regular, middle-sized, neighborhood liquor store, nothing too unusual. What is unusual is the owner. I think his name is Mike. I searched all over town (including BevMo) for Lemonhart Rum to no avail. I happened to swing by this place on a whim and of course they didn't have it either, BUT the owner said he'd order some for me if I wanted it, which he did! He called me in a couple of days to say they were in, and when I came to pick up the bottle, he told me that if there was any unusual or hard to get liquor, to give him a call and he'd be glad to make a special order for me. No extra charge. What a guy! I tried the same with BevMo and the manager told me that the brand was unavailable in the area -LIAR! read more

Honestly, every time I shop here, I make a beeline straight towards the back fridge section where all the craft beer is kept. I appreciate the selection here considering the location, and that it's not some big box store. If you're in the mood to branch out and drink REAL beer (not just a sorry, watered-down excuse for one), come here & check out the microbrews. One of the guys here (name escapes me) is pretty knowledgeable and does most of the craft buying from what I understand. No matter your level of beer nerdiness, from novice to ultra-snob, he'll help you find something to fit your palate, so you don't wind up joining some pretentious drain-pouring posse. I shopped here to find a gift for my boyfriend, & found a nice Deschutes number that fit the bill. Make sure you ask if he's got anything special in the back, as that's where the rarer finds are kept. Awesome spot for beer shopping in Stockton. Looks like a regular liquor store but it really is some what not like other liquor stores. Not like others in Stockton, this place ain't hella hood with hella fool posted outside intimidating u to go in. Also no it's not because this place is away from the ghetto the hood is down the street. Anyway you can find anything hear, from margarita mix, any 40 oz, wine? But the thing that won me over besides their good, friendly, and helpful service, YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF BUYING YOUR BOTTLES OF HENNESSY COLD!!! That's all it took to be a winner in my book. Went there today and my heart sank seeing that Mike sold the store to someone. Didn't get a chance to ask who the new owners but know the Mike was an outstanding Customer guy and will be missed. 17 years going there he's always catered to his customers first.
