February 2011 - Post near garage begins to heave. 6/17/11 - Gate hinges fall out of a different post which is stripped/split & needs to be replaced. 6/18/11 - Initial call to Beverly Fence -- I'm told by girl who answered the phone that I have a 25 year warranty and that someone will call me back or come out to fix it. 6/22/11 - Follow up call. Told by Dan (the owner) that he'll be out to take a look. Around 7/11/11 - After multiple calls made (no answer) & messages left between 6/22-7/11, Complaint filed with BBB, online reviews initiated. 7/15/11 - Email rec'd from Patrick (new employee in the sales division at Beverly fence) after finding my online review telling me he'd like to be of assistance in resolving the matter. 7/16/11 - Visit from Patrick where he took photos & made assurances he'd do his best to help resolve the matter while commenting that he didn't recognize the (5 year old) hardware as theirs. He's been with the company 3 months. 7/18/11 - Sent an email to Patrick asking if there is any news which was answered with an email from Patrick that I would need to provide paperwork from 2006 proving that they did the fence installation. 7/22/11 - Dan (owner) has a consultation with my mom where she lets him know she has gotten better quotes & expresses concern over using their company because of how my problem is being handled. Dan sends Chris (his brother) over to my house to screw the gate back into the split wood. Gate is screwed in & left with a large gaping area at the bottom. Chris confirms it is, in fact, a Beverly fence & that the posts do need to be replaced. I express my unhappiness to Chris. He apologizes on behalf of the company but says he can only do what Dan tells him to do. Dan drives by after telling my mom he was on his way to my house to "make sure it's been taken care of" ( I was sitting in my car in my driveway & watched him drive by twice), but does not stop or get out of the car because he "does not want to deal with it" (his words to my mom). WRETCHED customer service! Have called three times in the past few months for an estimate and have gotten the runaround each time. (I am a glutton for punishment). They said they would show up at an appointed time to give us an estimate and blew us off completely, every time. I called once to complain and the girl that answered the phone replied "Well, they're really busy." And she gets away with that??? Forget these clowns. read more

My mom had a horrible experience with Beverly fence! I'm going to save you the drama and just cut to the chase, we took them to court a few times, not really too sure what happened with that. But I do know that Dan Simmons (the owner) filed for bankruptcy. He has also been known under other names and other companies. He's a total scam artist! read more

They made an appointment 2 weeks in advanced and then on the day of the appointment about 30 minutes before they were supposed to get here called and cancelled. they rescheduled for the following week and just didn't show up. No call no nothing. They do a lot of business in the Beverly neighborhood but I believe if you treat potential customers badly then you have no intention of treating existing customers right. Unfortunately Dan Simmons is quite a character and I fell for his kindness and consideration. I had his company install a beautiful white vinyl fence. Granted, they did a very nice job of installing, but there was so much rock and left over concrete from previous fences that was not cleaned up. I asked him about the gap at the bottom of the fence ( I have a dog) and he said that was the only way to do it. On the side where my fence attaches to my neighbor's there is a 6" gap at the bottom as well as in the gate. I didn't think to ask at the time about how that can be fixed so my dog doesn't get out or other creatures can get in. In about a month of cleaning up the mess and the dirt under the fence I called both phone numbers to an answering machine. I kept calling every few days for at least 2 weeks, left messages ( I would have paid them to resolve the problem) but no answer. When I was deciding who to give the $7500 job to, Dan would quickly return my call and even called me to see if I had made a decision. I read previous poor views and didn't want to believe that Dan who was so nice would do a poor job. Anyway, don't be fooled by Dan's nice demeanor. When the job is done, he wants no part of you, even to make more money to fix a slight problem. It's really too bad as I've had 3 people over the months ask me about my fence and would I recommend them! read more

I am Katie R. neighbor and what a joke Beverly Fencing Company is. Her fence was installed by Beverly Fence and should be repaired by Beverly Fence. The first guy, Chris, initially tried to cut corners and drill hardware back into warped post. If myself and Katie were not out there to tell Chris, which he already knew, he would of left without a whisper about needing new post. Chris leaves. Moments later a white truck stops in front of my house, I am asssuming it was the person Katie spoke with. Stopped for a minute and then drove off. Fences are expensive, Katie paid her bill with warranty. The owner Dan will not fix her fence. BEVERLY FENCE does not care about the relationship. They care about their money and once they get the money they no longer care about client. BEVERLY FENCE needs to do what is right and make it right. After 3 years the gates didn't close properly. Repeated attempts to get someone to even reply to our inquiries went unanswered. The only way they would call back was if I pretended to be a new customer. I was promised a response and nothing. Fast forward 2 1/2 more years and I need 3 new posts on a 6 year old fence. I was promised an estimate. Nothing. I had to replace them myself. Their customer service matches their poor quality of their product. I still need my gates fixed. read more

This company is awful. DO NOT USE THEM. My boyfriend's parents bought us a fence as a housewarming present. It was paid for a month ago and we have no idea when/if we will ever get it. Their customer service is terrible - they either don't answer the phone or have no answers for us. Dan just completed the fencing in our back yard and the railing on our back porch. The fencing is white vinyl and the rails are wrought iron. My wife and I could not be happier. We have received several compliments from our neighbors as well. Dan showed up with his crew as scheduled and worked diligently to finish on time and on budget. I would recommend Dan and his crew to anyone seeking to improve their home and landscape. Additionally, Dan and his crew removed troublesome mulberry bushes that were growing in the line of the fence. He and his crew were careful not to damage planters located along the fence line. OMG!!! I don't even know where to start!! I wish I would've seen these reviews before my husand and I decided to go with Beverly Fence Company (owner, Dan). First off, our contract clearly stated that after fence was put up all dirt around the posts would be removed and cleaned from yard. That was not the case. They left huge dirt piles around every post and on the lawn for which my husband had to spend a whole day cleaning. He was not happy about that. Then, after close inspection of the fence my husband noticed many (over 30) screws missing throughout the whole entire fence. There have been SEVERAL attemps made to Dan and his Wife to get somebody out to put the screws in and finish the job. It's like playing a cat and mouse game with this guy. He tells us he's coming out then he'll text my husband and rescedule. This has been going on for WEEKS! Dan has been told he will get final pymt when job is done to completion. So, today we get a call from his wife that someone will be out to remove the gate from the fence for nonpymt. Low and behold, I come home from work and the someone was out to remove the gate. Now, doesn't it make sense that if your going to send someone out to take the gate....HAVE THAT PERSON PUT THE DAMN SCREWS IN THE FENCE! EXREMELY POOR BUSINESS ETIQUITTE...Buyers Beware!!!! In the summer of 2011 I decided to replace my chain-link fence with a new white vinyl privacy fence. I called around to several places to get estimates including, Beverly Fence Co. Dan (THE OWNER, which he will tell you every three minutes) came out and gave me a great estimate. Dan insisted a permit wouldn't be necessary, despite my proof that it was. I paid him half the estimate a day later and he gave me a date for installation a month from that day. A month rolled around and I got no call from Dan nor Beverly Fence Co. Eventually, I called to check in on the project. I got no response for two days. I called again and got no response for over four days. Eventually a guy named Chris (Dan's brother?) called me and said they were behind. He said he would be out the following week to install the fence. A week passed, and no call. I called and Chris said they would be out the following week again. This same process repeated itself, another 2 times. At this point, I began researching other reviews to see if this is a common occurrence at Beverly Fence Co. I found several other reviews that confirmed that it was. I worked with them, despite their extremely poor business practices. Beverly Fence has been around a long time and is a family owned business. Unfortunately, Dan cannot manage the business. Eventually, two men came to my house to install the fence. I went over the plan with them and then I left for work. The men worked a few hours until they accidentally clipped an underground wire carrying the electric to my garage. Chris (Dan's brother) called me at work to explain the situation. I called my cousin, who is an electrician to come check out the situation. My cousin met me at my house that evening, only to find that the installers buried the wire and cemented over it. I called Chris to explain and he assured me they patched the wire. I flipped the circuit breaker and everything worked out well. After fixing this problem, I went out to see the work they completed that day. They did a completely lousy job. They placed the posts in the wrong locations to save them from having to remove the old posts, of which I paid an additional four hundred dollars for them to remove. I called Chris again and informed him of this. Dan agreed to take all the cement post footings out and moved the posts to a better location. The next day the men removed the posts and installed the fence correctly. The fence is uneven throughout the yard, which I do understand, given the lay of the land. The following day, my neighbor came and banged on my do to complain about how messy they left his yard, including the base of each post. IT WAS A MESS! I agreed with my neighbor and spent the next 8 hours laying sod and cleaning up their mess. A month later my garage lost power. I assumed it had to be their patch job. I dug up the wire, only to find out THEY NEVER PATCHED IT! I then had to fix the problem and splice it myself. I am upset with Dan and Chris, not only for completely making this a miserable experience, but more-so for representing the Beverly area with such a poor business with no dignity. Dan, give it up! Chris, give it up! You suck! If I had your work ethic, I'd be fired! I wish I would have trusted my instincts and gone with another company! I had a fence installed about five years ago. I had some problems with the fence and called about someone coming out. After calling the company more than 10 times and leaving a message to take my business else where, i finally received a call back. Pat came out, took, pictures, stated that the work didn't look like their work, i had to pull out an invoice showing i paid over $6000 for the fence. Pat assured me that he would resolve the issue and i asked for a follow up call, to no avail. I was willing to pay for the work and the company still refuses to contact me back. I have called the company everyday sense August and still no return call. i don't know what kind of business they are running but i will never give them thumbs up. this company is horrible. read more

Extremely poor customer service. Phone calls are never returned. The owner Danny Simmons is very unprofessional and just down right ignorant. In January 2009, I signed a contract with Beverly Fence to have a cedar fence installed with all posts in concrete. In March 2012, the post for the front gate broke in two causing the gate to collapse. Further inspection revealed multiple posts were rotting at ground level and the remaining fence was loose. Danny Simmons, the owner, came out and told me the fence is loose because on one side of the yard there is mulch and the other side there is rock. I told Dan he was wrong, that the concrete is not above ground level and therefore the posts are sitting in dirt causing them to rot. Danny also told me the support for the front gate should have been mounted to the house. When I asked why wasn't this done, he said "people don't like things attached to their house." I told him no one asked me about attaching anything to the house and if they did, I would have said okay. I asked Danny what he was going to do to fix the problem at which time he gave me an estimate of $2,270 to have the posts replaced with steel ones. A few weeks later my husband went to repair the front gate and discovered only the corner post was in concrete. We dug up several other posts and discovered they too were not in concrete. Danny violated the contract and did not set all posts in concrete as stated in the contract. Danny was re-contacted, told of our discovery and informed him he violated the contract. He then had the nerve to ask, "who installed the fence?" He was told he did. Again he was asked what are you going to do to fix this problem? He responded that he gave a new estimate to have the posts replaced with steel ones. Again he was told he violated the contract and that a new estimate was not acceptable. He then said to take him to court. I have filed a Fraud Complaint with the Attorney Generals Office and waiting for some type of resolution. When all this came about In March I checked the Better Business Bureau's web site and learned Beverly Fence was given an "F" rating. I wish I would have checked back in January 2009. read more

Dan, met with us, and told us, how the whole process worked; it would be 4-6 weeks to order, cut, and fashion the fence, just the way we wanted it; it was 7 weeks, mostly due to heavy rains, and flooding; they were done in less than a day, and the fence is BEAUTIFUL!! We were concerned after seeing and hearing the negative reviews, but, our experience with Dan, and Beverly Fence, was a very positive one, and we would whole-heartedly reccomend them to anyone, looking for good quality, and good workmanship! I had a vinyl two-tone fence installed by Dan at Beverly Fence in the summer of 2010. They removed an existing chain-link fence and trees and installed the new fence extremely promptly. The service was fantastic and Dan was easy to get ahold of throughout the entire process. Last month I had an accident on my property and part of the fence was damaged. I contacted Beverly Fence and left a message, Kristen called me back the very next day and scheduled to have Dan (the owner) come back out and get my fence looking like new again. This is a great company and has been for years. I was referred to them by my father, who has a 6ft tall wooden privacy fence that Dan installed over 10 years ago and it is still holding strong (and looks beautiful). My father had a minor problem with the gate handle and Dan sent a crew out to fix it. Literally couldn't be happier with my decision to buy locally and get a quality product over the nonsense that is sold at the "big box stores". This fence will be here forever, without any maintenance at all. Make the right decision. read more
