Okay, I know I had a review up just recently but I had had had HAD to update this asap. I went back again because the stockings I got tore. Yes, tore. Apparently they're rather pricey (7.95, pffft) and of great quality, which I believe. The tearing was all my stupid fault. ANYWAYS So I go back there to buy a replacement as well as more hosiery and the customer service infinitely was improved upon, mainly because it came from the owner himself, Steven (I think that's his name). ANYWAYS So I'm shopping, trying to frantically find the same exact thing I got on a whim several days ago, and he notices my quandry. We strike up a conversation on hosiery and I tell him what I like, as well as several brands like Worthington I admired (I think they're only stocked at JC Penny's?) and then we talked a bit about shapewear. It was all very professional, and for once I could talk to someone about my love affair with hosiery and lingerie and shapewear without coming off as a pervert or a weirdo or a miscreant. He said several things that I think should catch your attention yelpers: 1. He is barely aware of this website; anytime that someone tells him they found him on Yelp, he's surprised and very grateful to all of our "loyalty" and simply tries to "give the best prices he can." Admirable. 2. He really knows his stuff. Like really. He stocks Rago, which is a "vintage"-y brand of shapewear/lingerie, and knows the difference between that and the cheap corset-y overseas manufactured stuff. I can tell he prefers US made products even though he tries to feature everything from everywhere in his store -- but in his eyes, US made = guarantee to last long. 3. He's genuinely trying to keep things as cheap as he can. The fishnet stockings you gals (and guys) get at Hot Topic for 8 bucks a pop? He sells those for half, and you can get 3 of 'em for 10. For what it is, it's great. You may expect some old style department store with shop girls pulling your stockings out of glass cabinets with a store name like "Beverly Hills Hosiery," but not really. It's more like one of those stores on Hollywood Blvd., but slightly nicer. Oh, and the owner Steve is a great guy and will help you find sizes and styles you may like. If it's not out on the floor he may have it in the back. Then again, lots of stuff only comes S-L, and not even a "real" L, it's like a made-in-China large, i.e. for a person weighing less than 150 lbs. Yeah. But there is a decent selection of plus sized stockings for those of us over 150 lbs, so that made me happy. The stockings are super cheap, and they're the usual costume brands like Leg Avenue and Be Wicked and the like. He also has some costume corsets and booty shorts and shoes. Parking is pretty lame, par for the course for going downtown. Cheapest parking if you're not staying long is the $3 meter spots for 45 minutes. read more

Literally a dancer's dream palace! So in a couple weeks I will be performing as "Nicki Minaj" live in a show and I needed a Fake Butt! A costume designer told me about this place so I decided to give them a call. Steve was extremely helpful and nice over the phone and he let me know that he had exactly what I was looking for. So I decided to take a field trip downtown LA to take a look and make a purchase. The parking is TERRIBLE Downtown LA so be prepared to either pay (starting at) $3.00 per hour (I got away with metered parking for 15 minutes!) or pay for parking in a lot. After about 10 minutes of searching for parking, I finally found a meter pretty close to the store. I walked in and couldn't believe how much variety this place had. I felt like a kid in a toy store! Steve was actually working today when I went so he was able to help me. I found my fake butt (it's basically a panty with a molded butt lol) and was on my way. You get a 10 percent discount on your purchase for checking in on Yelp too! I will definitely come back here again to shop for more dancer stuff. The prices are great, the customer service was amazing, and there are so many choices of any and everything here. Definitely worth the parking and the trip. I love that old-world-bygone-days-women-languishing-in-luxury air that permeates the store. This place is awesome. I found a quality corset that usually goes for around 200-300 bucks for just 54 dollars. Sequenced bra? 18 bucks. Gold gloves? 4 bucks. I mean, c'mon. The folks were very helpful and nice. I even found great accessories for my steampunk theme. Great prices, lovely and knowledgeable people. You can't go wrong with this place. Love this place. Located downtown, it can be a little bit of a trek for some to get to (and parking is pay, no matter how hard you try), but it's totally worth it. They have a large variety: hosiery of all textures and colors including tights, stockings, thigh highs and fishnets, lingerie (like corsets, bustiers, ruffle panties and garter belts), costume items like tutus and leg avenue outfits, bodystockings, gloves, robes, and shoes. If you have lingerie needs, this place is a good option. I buy quite a few of my necessities for performing here, including dance quality fishnets for less than the average price. My lovely assistant introduced me to this great store, she has been shopping here for costumes for her dancers for many years, in fact the store was at the other location for 80 years and at this new location for a few years. I went for a stroll downtown and came across this store. With the displays outside I didn't know what to expect inside, however was pleasantly greeted by the staff and guided through the store. The only thing stopping me from giving this place 5 stars is their prices. Compared to stores in the same area, they are off the charts expensive, compared to other lingerie stores they are off the charts expensive (but only slightly more expensive than boutique lingerie in West LA, and they are definitely more expensive than any online rave clothing store. But, their stuff is just awesome. My favorite outfits have always happened to come from individually picked out items purchased from them. They have all the coolest and most individualistic little things that add all the appeal to your outfit. It makes a big difference and so I continue to visit this store despite their prices. read more

LOVE! THIS! STORE! I am pretty conservative on where I shop when it comes to lingerie as some stores are not as classy and have adult themed items everywhere. But Beverly Hills Hosiery? PERFECT! A wall full of pantyhose and thigh highs? YES! A wall of corsets and bustiers! YES! I went in trying to find classic looking stockings and came out with that and a lot more. I felt like I was shopping with my girlfriends as the staff were so friendly and helpful and we began crafting an outfit. Instead of being scared and self-conscience about the outfit, I felt confident and love it as I know my husband will too. Stockings, gloves, hat, and the works! They helped me with every bit. And the prices were so good. I was going to buy the shoes, but they didn't have my size in stock. But they did offer to order them and ship them to my home since I live out of the area. Steve, the owner was so sweet and nice. I complemented him on the classiness of the store which he replied, "My father didn't sell adult themed items and out of respect for him I won't either." What a find! Beverly Hills Hosiery is the store I didn't know I needed, just a convenient DASH-D bus ride from my work! The selection of Leg Avenue hosiery by itself is impressive: a wall of choices. Plus, they have a few fun play items (corsets, petticoats, garter belts, limited brassieres, gloves). The only disadvantage is if you are, like me, on the extremely small side. Much of the merchandise is stocked for a more voluptuous lady. But the gentleman who owns the shop is a true gem, and he truly is proud of his shop. I imagine that a visit to Beverly Hills Hosiery is what Alice felt like when she entered the rabbit hole and discovered a whole new world. This place may not look like much on the outside, but once you enter it, you will find everything you could imagine, as well as items you didn't even know existed. During my most recent visit with a friend who was looking for an outfit to wear for her boyfriend, we were able to find a very nice piece of lingerie, including stockings, for less than $30. Although a lot of gals may stop by BH for sexy/slutty Halloween costumes (which they have an abundance of) I would recommend this place over other mainstream lingerie shops due to the awesome selection and great service that you receive. read more
