Blonde cashier with curly hair and glassed is the rudest person Ive had to deal with in a long time. We were charged double what the sign posted read and when we asked about it she became defensive and angry like we personally insulted her. My boyfried asked very kindly if the price was correct on the sign or if what we were being charged was right. She said "Ugh, well they can refund you over there" then she rolled her eyes smacked her lips and called another cashier to help us. Completely unecessary. Want to waste your time here? try this walk in grab a bottle of water and proceed to checkout. You will be asked for ID for a bottle of WATER. I understand they sell alcohol and maybe it's their "policy" but asking for ID for some water? What a waste of time, especially when there is a line behind you. Prices are better than most places, such as a gallon of Fireball for about 23$. Its a hit and miss with employees and their knowledge of the alcohols so that's a bit disappointing. But they usually just look it up in their computer system. Parking usually sucks but if you go later in the night it's sometimes fine. They also carry Portuguese imported alcohols which is awesome! read more

Oh beautiful BevMo you have blessed me with slightly cheaper liquor then surrounding super market since I have turned 21. You always have Goose for me and you never overprice your Cabo Wabo!! BevMo is not always the cheapest but honestly it is the most convenient and hey it is one of the few places other then the token irish pub in town that i can find Stronbow cider. That much liquor in one place means you are going to find what you need and all the mixers too oh and all the serve ware if you need it...its a one stop party shop!! oh and just make sure you have your little reward/club card with you all the time. How can you not love a place that has a buy-one-get-one-5cent wine sale and a huge beer selection!? BevMo rules. I really like that BevMo has lots of German hefeweizens that have proven incredibly difficult to find anywhere else in Fresno. I also like that they have lots of weird local beers too, so I can go pick up something new to try every time I'm there. They also have a huge wine and liquor selection, along with a cured meats/cheese section, and caviar. They even have a club member/discount card. So awesome. read more

So, I called in ahead of time to try and purchase a keg. BevMo actually does have a great menu of kegs, I found it best to call ahead to order a keg, since BevMo rarely has in stock anything on that menu. So I ask to speak to someone who can assist me with kegs. The employee tells me okay. Long pause, then employee says, "what do you want!". This was done rather rudely. I then apologize and tell him I wasn't aware he was the one that was going to assist me. I then asked if he had Summer Shandy in stock, and if not could I order it. I knew it would not be in stock. Employee then asks me which one? I wasn't aware any other company other then Leinenkugel made a Summer Shandy. Employee then told me to hold on. He came back on the phone and said they have it in a 6 pack and proceeded to give me the price. I told him I wanted a keg. Employee then tells me they don't have that in a keg and cannot get that in a keg. I tried to explain to employee that I have bought this keg from BevMo last year. I told him if he wasn't willing to even check to see if he could order it or if it was even in season for that matter, I could check with Wine and More (located in the same business complex). The employee's response was, "be my guest". I asked employee if I could speak to his manager. Employee then said, "what can I help you with?". I asked him if he was the manager and he told me he was and again asked what he could help me with. I told him he was extremely rude and he could be more helpful by being more polite to prospective patrons. He simply responded by saying Thank You for the advice. I asked him his name and he told me it was Mike. So Mike the manager at the Fresno BevMo is extremely rude and condescending. Mike at BevMo is the sole reason I will never buy another product from BevMo. There are way to many alternatives (In the same parking lot) to be treated that way. Nice work Mike. read more

On the plus side, they have a wider selection than any other store. I am impressed with their quality wines and their great prices on some of their other liquor items, especially the 5c wine sale. On the down side, not too happy about their customer service. I put in a few orders online and they got it wrong twice, luckily they had the right wines in stock and was quick to correct it. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful, but there were also a few employees who were very unfriendly and seemed frustrated when needing to help customers. If it wasn't for their great products I'd definitely not go back. read more

I used to be able to buy Dulce Vida (blanco) tequila at bev mo. They changed distributors and unable to get this product any more.

Four stars just for the selection. You will find it at a BEV MO no doubt about it. But you probably wont buy it there. A little too pricey. read more

I am a kind person, and generally avoid reviews. However I just came from BevMo. I purchased a bottle of wine for my wife to have on a little out of town trip she is taking. The experience was fine until I got to the cashier. My purchased was $33.65. I gave the cashier 45 dollars. He tried to give me 45 cents in change. I patiently told him he was incorrect and that I had given him 45 dollars. He looked confused. I told him the change should be $11.35. He got out his calculator and said "Oh the change is supposed to be $10.35." I said "No 45 minus 33 is 12". He looked more perplexed. He tried his calculator again and got, you guessed it, $10.35. By this time there were several people in line, and I could only look on this guy with pity.... I told him that he was wrong, but that it was ok (I didn't want to hold up everyone else in line and I supposed he was being embarrassed enough). Then he gave me 35 cents..... I just stared at him..... He asked "did I give you your 35 cents?". I answered that indeed he had, but not my $10 that should have been $11. He gave me the 10 dollars and I left the store flabbergasted. Remember this is a young guy, is emblematic of what will inherit the USA AND he gets to vote, just because he is over 18. This isn't really the place where I'd pick up fine wine, but it completely does the job for my "everyday" wine needs. I really wish they'd have a better selection of imported wines, but they represent the west coast pretty well. I like to hit them up during the 5cent sale to try out some wines that I want to try but can't justify their regular price. read more

My husband was ripped off on a bottle of La Crema Chardonnay. $24???? Also, several months ago I was looking for a hard-to/find liqueur. Found it online at Bevmo then found it for $10 less at an independent liquor store with a reputation for being high-priced. The La Crema will be our last purchase at Bevmo. read more

Biased review but a review none the less I actually work at a Bevmo. And to reply to Timothy's review and any other future reviewers about Bevmo and them being out of stock on a specific item before New Years etc. Tim you're an adult most adults know when to plan ahead for big events or when they know they need to get something. You sit here and complain that the shelves are empty when there are probably about 500k people in Fresno plus out of towners and do all of them buy alcohol in Fresno? No, probably not, but you have to factor in a good percentage of that number will probably buy an alcohol related product come New Years or Christmas. But please don't blame the store for your laziness. You don't help your chances of getting said item when you do last minute shopping which you should have planned ahead for.. Please call ahead next time, we can save you cost of gas, time and hassle by telling you if we have that item in stock and can hold it for you, or if we need to place an order for it. Also if you are returning alcohol to get cash or money put back on your debit/cc. It is actually ILLEGAL TO RETURN UNUSED ALCOHOL IN CALIFORNIA UNLESS YOU CAN PROVE ITS UNFIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. So if you are planning for a wedding don't be surprised if you hear the manager tell you no on that refund of stuff you have left over. At managers discretion you may exchange an item/s though, call your local Alcohol beverage control branch and they will provide you with more detail if needed, or check their website as well. Back to the main topic Most vendor orders come in once a week if that some take longer especially if it is an aged item. It also depends on the vendor as well. Some are faster than others. Yes, Bevmo does sell alcohol and flaunts it with a saying of one stop shop for alcoholic beverages etc. But it's a way of life stores do run out of product it's just a fact. And if you fail to accept that I don't know what to tell you. That's like going to the mall on Christmas eve and them being out of what you were looking for and blaming the mall, big shocker right..? As far as employee knowledge goes, we have one wine tasting class before we start, also we are given a mini book for quick alcohol related fact references that's it. There's occasionally a wine or beer tasting we can try out if we are not busy. There's no extensive twelve week course in France, where we sip wine and eat cheese and crackers and pontificate on good quality grapes from a specific region all day and the struggling economy. No, just a class and a mini pocket book... Also yes, customer service could be better. It can be better in most stores in general as well. Keep in mind we get paid $8.25 an hour (Associate Pay). And we get between six and twelve hours a week normally excluding holiday hours. Is that an excuse for bad service? Absolutely not, I just wanted to clear up any misconception of employees getting paid well, and being elitist snobs. I think we provide great service most of the time, provided usually we only get one register out maybe two if busy and a manager register. If it were up to me I'd have all registers out and ten people out on the floor but its not.. The the store is a business and has to make money as well. If you have 15 people working for you during the day including managers and your making $100 in sales an hour that is definitely an issue if the store is not making a big enough profit guess what? Less hours which means less employees which means slower lines less stuff getting stocked from replenishment from vendors. Slower everything and less of everything in general. As you can see I rated my experience 4/5 stars because I think it's a great place to shop and also to work if you like alcohol and other specialty items. But there is always room for improvement at Bevmo there is a lot in fact, the same goes for every other company on the planet. read more

This store does not rotate its stock enough, I have bought multiple wines here that were rancid, and have successfully returned some. I just took two bottles I picked up last week on the nickel sale in to return because they had clearly gone bad. One was unopened and one was open but a full bottle(I pored the wine back in and corked it after tasting). I was turned away and told I could not return without a receipt. I understand the receipt policy and usually keep them but I also know that I was sold a rotten product. Manager did not try to work with me, even though it was clearly a unique Spanish wine they sold there, and I had two of them(nickel sale obviously) and it was still on the nickel sale. If you do shop here keep your receipt you'll probably need it. Especially if you like to buy unique wines that maybe don't move as quickly like I do which is why I go there, or used to go there. I won't be back needless to say. Funny thing is I had my list of wine to buy after returning those bottles but left unhappy without doing so. They lost more money by not taking a return and will be losing a me as a customer for the future. I left the wine there too to show it really was rancid and unwanted. read more
