This is my all-time favorite store in Fresno.The manager John and his staff are the best they go beyond there work ethic and help me with all my product needs. One incident was when I was shopping for a present for my son and they show me a few items that would help me put together for his gift. The lady's name was Becky. As for the store, it is always fully stocked and they, I love all their displays to show their products. Sometimes they have their specials which I really like to 50% off to 30% off parking is plenty full. Everyone should check out the store for unique items. I recently dropped by this World Market location while walking around the River Park shopping center. Like many other reviewers, I primarily shop at World Market for their selection of reasonably priced interesting and international snacks. On this particular occasion, I purchased a Fanta "exotic tropical soda." $3 for one can of soda is a lot, but I was reallllly thirsty, and it was "exotic." It really is probably my favorite flavor of tropical soda I've ever tried. The store location was clean, well lit, and well organized. It was easy to find what I was looking for, which was the selection of international drinks on the back wall. Other than Fanta, World Market also carries all kinds of chips, cookies, crackers, candy, condiments, and small snacks from all around the world. The clearance section was much smaller than the one in Folsom. I'm not sure if this was due to timing, or due to a higher number of customers browsing the clearance in Fresno. The checkout line was unbearably long, especially since I was thirsty. Not sure if they were short staffed or something. But when I got to the register, the cashier was friendly and everything. Trips to World Market are something I look forward to! From the friendly and helpful associates to the unique and amazing products they sell, there's so much to love about shopping here. Throughout the store, they offer a wide variety of different cultural kitchen decor and cookware, home decor, gifts and stationary, snacks, alcohol, and so much more. My favorite thing about shopping here is seeing what new snacks they have in stock. This last time I went, they had SO many new things. They had new ramune flavors, boba, tons of hello kitty snacks and drinks, new candy bars from different countries, and other things I had never seen there before. They also had a chocolate bar that I had been looking for and could never find! I finally found it, bought it, and it was so delicious. The prices here are pretty exceptional for the quality and locations in which they come from. All the workers here are friendly and helpful. They greet you when walking in or throughout the store. They're super helpful in looking for products too! They didn't have what I was looking for, but it's always fun to peruse around CPWM. I like that the store set up is always the same. It makes it easier to find what I'm looking for. Nice furniture. Good selection of wines. Interesting food items from around the world. Neat kitchen gadgets. Wall decor, bath items, decorative plants and so much more. I come here somewhat often and its always a treat when I do!!! Located conveniently in river park this store has a little bit of something for everyone. They have many imported items from all around the world including home,kitchen,grocery, and even furniture you're certain to find something you fancy here. I personally love the grocery section which has many popular and rare snacks from around the world and at a fair price, its my absolute favorite place to grab snacks I can't get anywhere else. The staff is also very attentive and friendly and are always more than happy to assist you with anything you may need help with. They also have a rewards program too for frequent shoppers which is the perfect excuse to come back here as they always keep it fresh with new items rolling in and out of each of their departments. the selection here of home decor & baskets are plentiful. i found a beautiful basket that is large enough to hold toss pillows, made in the phillipines, for 30% off regular price so was lucky to have found that. they have a stationary section with gift wrapping, cards, gift bags, etc, with a variety of styles to choose from to suit your taste & who you're gifting for. their selection of snacks, teas & flavored water is great. it's like trader joe's & homegoods created a store together called world market. pretty cool. everyone here is very friendly, customer service is awesome, especially at check out. the only thing really is parking. on some days, it's really tough to find a parking spot. read more

I like the selection of items they have available as they are unique and you can't them in other stores easily and at a reasonable price. I was there for their gift baskets as they had a special price for them and it was an awesome price, $5.99 per basket with all the basket kit items included. Couldn't be happier as it would cost more at other stores. Not only do they have gift items, they also have furniture, dining utensils and a lot of food items. Why the minus one star: I had a mild allergy while at the store. Couldn't pin point what is the cause but I was sneezing, and itching throughout my face that the moment we left the store, these symptoms were gone. This store is really clean. I like how big and open it is. It also smells fresh inside. Some stores like this have a weird smell and this one doesn't. There is also a lot to choose from. She was very personable and diligent following through by locating these items for me. She called to provide inventory delay info as they were still unpacking their inventory. They have Muni teas and they are $2 less than Vons. Also all of the teas they carry are 20% off till the 13th (5/13/2018). A box of Muni tea was only $4.56 each compared to $7.99 at Vons. I got a box of Moroccan mint and White Rose tea. I only drink Muni tea because they are certified organic and practice fair trade and I like the company. Very ethical. I got a couple of sensory toys and they aren't the cheapest but I like this store because it's clean and they carry interesting stuff from around the world. Nice friendly service. read more

Life in Fresno would be impossible for this immigrant without the Cost Plus World Market! Conveniently located in the River Park shopping center area, this World Market is a pretty large location. They have a mix of furniture, kitchenware, decor, and food and drinks. I usually come here for the imported snacks and teas. It's the only place I've found in town with my precious favorite teas! If you want true imports skip the Twinings (it's the same stuff you get at the supermarket). There's usually a good selection of Taylors of Harrowgate teas including Yorkshire Tea and Yorkshire Gold, along with some loose leaf options. They also carry Barry's Tea - which I'm now allied to since they don't have my preferred Twinings Everyday. There's a good range of snacks here too - unfortunately nothing by Cadbury but you'll find plenty of Nestle snacks, Lindor chocolate, and a good selection of North-Western European specialities. I've even found some Tunnock's treats here (a Scottish snack brand from near where I grew up), including snowballs, chocolate wafers, and my beloved tea cakes. They stock everything seasonally here, so it's a great place to pick up some foreign treats around Christmastime and other holidays. I haven't browsed around the homewares much, but have bought some smaller household items like wine glasses and coasters here, and all have been reasonably priced and pretty good quality. read more

I have had so much good luck with this store. I almost kind of forget out it (SORRY!) But when I do remember and come here, it is always a good find for something unique and nice. My husband actually shops here a lot for his gift baskets at work and he will make his own and then they have even wrapped it up for him to look nice, which is awesome. I love the merchandise and selection here. And the member card program offers some pretty great options. The jewelry, scarves, lotions, greeting cards, cookware, seasonal items, and foods (yes--and wine section) are all great. What sucks about this store is it is WAY TOO CLUTTERED. If this were a home and not a store, they would be bordering on hoarding. I'm surprised the ADA or fire marshal hasn't issued a citation. For customers who are in wheelchairs or are pushing standard or narrow strollers--good luck getting more than three feet past the cashiers...the maze of pathways through the store is just too narrow to navigate anything...Even their smaller shopping carts don't fit through at least 50% of the aisles.. Cost Plus--you might really want to widen and declutter your walking paths through the store. It would make the customer experience more enjoyable and less frustrating, read more

This specialty store is not a place I find myself shopping at often, but a place I go when there is a certain Item I need. The store is very well orginized, with a layout that makes it easy to fid the item you are looking for. They have a little bit of everything and I have to say that if you catch your item at the right time it may be on sale and a steal. I usually don't buy a lot of stuff in here, but I love looking around. It's a chain, sure, but it has it's charm. The items that I have bought in here are pretty unique (sarongs, beaded coasters, etc.) and they have a huge selection of glassware and cute little things if you're hosting a party. Really frustrated with world market on Blackstone in Fresno calif. Just wanted a few items , when I get to register I am told nobody writes checks anymore. This is not true but it is just their policy. It is not posted. Then I tried my card but it is old so needs to be manually entered as their machine did not read it . Manager walked by and said no manual entry allowed . So no credit card , no checks , I left merchandise on counter will not be going back to that store. read more

Two weeks ago I spent one night in Fresno and since I had lots of time, I visited the Cost Plus World Market. I love the World Markets. They have so many different things in there, I could spend a whole day just going from isle to isle and play with stuff or read food labels. They also have a loyalty program , where you can additional discounts. The staff is usually very friendly and helpful. They have sales often on the items there & I just enjoy always coming in and finding something else that's unique to take home. I also love the candles they carry. If you've got an insatiable sweet tooth and a hankering for unusual flavors, along with a wad burning a hole in your wallet, this might be the store for you. That and flashy packaging distinguishes nearly everything carried here that isn't also found nearby, and most of what's in those pretty packages is just tarted up cheap junk. All you get for your money is image and feel-good, and I'd rather spend my money on something legitimately better. The wine department is the worst, and I have no idea why anyone would shop here when Fresno is overflowing with excellent, relatively inexpensive wine shops. Slapping $30 price tags (on sale from $40!) on something that could have come from Gallo's liquor-store line is just insulting. Then you have, as above, their emphasis on sweet flavored wines, and you have to wonder if they're actually in the wine business at all, or just want to sell dessert? The beer isn't as bad, a few good macros, a few good micros, a few local brands, and lots of really mediocre or outright terrible bottles. Any sampler they brand with their own label is a way to push bad junk with a few decent bottles; seriously, Moosehead is not one of the world's best beers, if anything it's nearly the world's _worst_ beer. The only saving grace is that they don't sell Foster's. I don't know where they come up with some of this stuff. The tea and coffee are only notable for having (sweet!) infusions you rarely find elsewhere, stuff like absinthe and ginger, along with the usual orange peel and jasmine. What's actually high quality is what you can get elsewhere for less, what's not is marked up to the same level to rip off the unwary. Naturally, none of the actual goods are made in America. Some are decent, some are so specific to a single task that you wonder if they're As-Seen-On-TV, but everything is a lot more than you'd expect unless you only shop at Williams-Sonoma. The yuppiness is palatable, focused in being trendy instead of quality or value... just like the rest of River Park, so they fit in perfectly. Unless you're looking for appliances and furniture in the same place as your booze and snacks, you would probably be better served at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I'm on their mailing list, and most of the time I find it fairly pointless; sometimes sales that barely bring things down to their competitors' prices, but mostly just markdowns on whatever they can't sell because no one wants it. read more

So cute! I only come here for the food because they sell so much international food that isn't available anywhere else but online. I'm sad that they discontinued the project 7 cotton candy gum and even more upset that they discontinued the Dalla Costa pea pasta because I LOVE IT. I suppose you can say it's a mix between Bed Bath & Beyond, Ikea, and Teazers World Tea Market. It's got a bit of everything; and a lot of items you won't find anywhere else. From incense to chopstics, candles to pasta, soda pop to jewelery; you can pretty much find it here. Not to mention a good place to check out if you're looking to refurnish your home. It pretty much looks like a giant open warehouse and they have pretty decorations all over the walls. The employees are helpful and nice. It has a clean but home-y atmosphere to it. I honestly love shopping here. I usually buy some of their soaps or incents but I also bought my desk here. My suggestion is to go in and wander around. Don't let yourself get too carried away by the ideas some of the items will give you, because I promise you will want to buy some cute but unnecessary things (I know I do.) And come in again when you really need something and you want it to look pretty and authentic. read more

I recently bought a cabinet for my home, there was a small issue with it when it was being put together, but the manager (John) quickly rectified it and I was happy.
