Definitely left a bad feeling about this place regardless of a few of the good teachers that do work here my son met in the teen summer program. As a non profit based accredited establishment it just still doesn't sit well with me..The way everything was handled after my written complaint against the teacher was atrocious. It's a lot to process in ones heart and mind when something like this happens and the situation was It's a long story but In short.A glass blowing teacher who was working with the school reached out to me by telephone because my 16year old sons mild stimming (he is autistic) was making the 4 adult members of the class uncomfortable and they as well as the teacher seemed to conclude that the place was not for him because the other students and herself thought he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol... He has a mild fluttering of his hands and occasionally giggles subconsciously.. A common trait in folks with ADHD and on the autism spectrum. The teacher added insult to injury by claiming to "know how to work with autistic children and wanted to work with him 1 on 1" and she didn't think he was a good fit because he "could get hurt" Like I should trust a person like that 1 on one.Made it through the call and just let her rattle on then started up a email to Barbra the president of the SWAC at the time. FYI he has taken 2 welding classes prior from another company and been in metal jewelry making classes and worked with furnaces before. He is quite mature and intelligent. To Infantilize people on the spectrum IS discriminatory.To assume they are on drugs IS discrimination and gross. The arts community should be more accepting. This info I held back because the president elected of the school Barbra at was experiencing illness and I had sympathy for the situation but everything about this situation was mishandled.The theme was to try and prove my son was incompetent of being in a class without a appointed attendant by the school to watch over him only there wasn't any available and they didn't allow him to take any other classes he was signed up for because they concluded by the advice of the glass blower woman he was unfit and a danger to the class.This was untrue. Offered me most of my money back with the exception of a $900 credit they never honored.Still get mail and emails asking for contributions but when they redid their website my credit and history of purchases just disappeared... What happened was disability discrimination and injustice. Ran off with my credit for a $900 class too.Disappeared completely and I am not about to call them to have some bureaucrat mamm me and tell me how they won't return my money because I'm sure they have no record of it now.. Try and do what you can to ensure a good life for your kids and when you are met with this kind of thing it's not only discouraging but heartbreaking too. Made sure my son didn't know a thing about the awful things the teacher said but he was disappointed the classes got canceled and just didn't feel like a safe space for him anymore so never used my $900 credit of what they didn't refund me.

This is a school/store that works with glass cutting, stained glass making, and kilning flat glass works. They sell all the glass and glass supplies. They even have books and newsletters where you can copy someone's design. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They took us around and showed us all the workshops, kilns, and supplies that they offer. We were stunned to see the colorful displays of the students' works shining in the windows. The staff is so friendly, and obviously passionate about their art! They're happy to help and answer any questions. It's a wonderful community resource! I can't wait to take a class here!

We took the Introduction to Stained Glass class. It was a small class, about 7 or 8 to a class. Seating can be limited per class so I suggest you sign up sooner rather than later for your desired craft. They provided all the equipment for the workshop. The only thing is you pay extra (outside of the initial class cost) for the glass pieces. We had 2 selections and I think it was either $12 and $15 each. This is a great beginners class that will help you get comfortable using the hot equipment and give you some knowledge on the Tiffany foil method. Our instructor was the owner and she was very patient and encouraging. They have been running this family business since 2001. They are passionate and have a lot of classes and equipment to offer. I know during Christmas time you can create a glass blown ornament. They offer a lot of classes for stained glass, fused glass, mosaics, and glass painting. Great place if you want to relax, hang out, and create!

There's 3D printers, wood, clay, tin, and fabric arts and it's just a cozy space. I live kind of far so I haven't signed up as a member yet but I've dropped in for one of their "clay play" days. A few times a month they host different events that non-members can pay a fee to drop in and try something out (I believe there's no fee for non-members but I also haven't studied their FAQs) For this particular one, it was $20 per person, they supply the clay and you can make whatever by hand or give the pottery wheel a spin and they'll take your info and text you to pickup once they've fired whatever pieces you leave behind. They do have people versed in the crafts they offer these classes in so you will have someone to offer some tips or support. I like trying different crafts but this is a really cool way to throw yourself into something new without just walking into a craft store and grabbing everything you'd need to get into a project on your own.

They also do other facial treatments with laser machines; hair and tattoo removal; cosmetic beauty treatments like makeup tattoos, microblading, lash extensions... and many other medical spa services. All of it is pretty new to me, I just signed up for a basic facial. Anyhow, I think it's really cool there is an aesthetics vocational institute like this in San Antonio. They are fairly new in San Antonio, established in 2019. Everyone I met was super nice and seemed knowledgeable. Say Si is a creative space for middle and high school students. My daughter is enrolled in the…read moremiddle school program that is held on Saturdays. Going into her second year she never hesitates to go despite having to wake up early on a weekend. She is in art and theater where they are always brainstorming ideas for new projects and plays. The staff delves into topics that are relevant to their age group. Last year they tackled the subject of death. It was a sensitive topic but handled with much care and reverence by teachers. They keep parents informed about upcoming themes and events. Students are required to maintain good grades in school and must have good attendance. There is an application process and students are selected in order to attend. Some of their artwork goes on display in the galleries and is also for sale. This is a great way for students to learn about the business side of art. I'm proud to have my kid enrolled here. She has made friends from other parts of town, diverse backgrounds and lifestyles. They are an inclusive institution and make sure everyone feels accepted and welcome. If your child is creative I highly Recommend Say Sí.

If you're looking for great art pieces that don't beat your wallet up or just to tour a gallery on first Friday, go to say si. During first Friday they also have wine for free and cheese Cubes and fruit. Their art is usually thematic and that instructors also have a section of art. This place also has clean restrooms and usually a pop up will appear outside with food during first Friday such as panifco bake shop with cheesecakes, coffee and pan dulce(sweet bread).
