Review of Golf Course Only:…read more I was lucky enough to be invited as a guest to play this private club this past week 1 day after a week of torrential rains. Arrive to a very organized bag drop area for guests as most private clubs are mostly members playing. Very helpful in welcoming us, and on the carts and off to the range we go. Range mats only today with max distance 190 yards. Carts are dated no GPS. With young college kid fore caddie assigned. Of we go to an absolutely magnificent golf course from layout to conditions, to maintained bunkers etc. Really top shelf as a private club of this nature should be. Only knock which could be from the weather greens looked much faster than they were though if you get them rolling properly this course would be unreal. Pace of play was ok as busy for a Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately the 1st year fore caddie with absolutely no experience was pretty much a waste of time but being a guest I certainly can't say anything negative. In short Course itself really top shelf - didn't even visit the inside facilities so I can't comment, and being a guest I'm not going to be overly critical of staff etc as I certainly have no right to voice my opinion of a private equity club. Course a 9 out of 10 and some knock offs for the aforementioned above. 4.5* course wise! Hope for a return invite.

That will only leave the pine Links course which is the worst of the 3. So now you play the pines links first (19-27) and finish on 10-18. Looks like they have given up maintaining the course. Tee boxes were bad, greens, traps all sucked. I should have known getting a great weekday afternoon rate of $57 with cart this course used to be 90+ but was worth it. Haven't been here in years and was shocked how they have let it go, including the clubhouse-restaurant building which looks worn and dilapidated. My parents used to live in the adjacent community so we used to go there all the time and it was nice. They have let it go to shit. I won't be back at any price.

My pal and I started with a couple of cocktails, I picked the sangria and she went with the espresso martini. Both were really good and well prepared. Next came a bread basket with the most exceptional bread. It was an Italian sesame loaf, but the interior was yellow, almost like an egg bagel and it was 100%. It was so good, that I asked for some extra to take home and made epic french otast with it the next day. It was THAT good! After that we both got french onion soup, which was also 1975 fantastic and just the way I like it, with tons of gruyere baked on top. For my main, I went with the Chicken Don Pepe- Which was a breaded chicken cutlet served with roasted tomatoes and red onions over basil risotto-truly fantastic and a VERY generous portion, enough to take home for lunch the next day. I'm not too familiar with the Spring Lake area, but the golf club has a lovely location. Not sure if they have valet service as we usually park our own cars. Love the Christmas decorations throughout the lobby and club itself. There's a coat check by the lobby, though I always forget! Bar has nice views and decent selection of wines and beers. It's a good place to have a cocktail reception or small gathering. We were in a larger banquet room with many windows and a big Christmas tree. Food was served buffet style. My favorite was the pasta and the pumpkin pie dessert. Pretty tasty! Servers are nice and friendly too which I appreciate. The bathrooms are clean, fancy, and good for taking a selfie (; Not sure about costs, but I'm sure the staff can help you with membership or planning a special event.

Each hole I waited 20 minutes before tee off because it was so backed up and the Marshall wasn't doing their job for pace of play. Went to the clubhouse and they would not give me a refund or rain check to play the remaining holes another day: the clubhouse employee was unprofessional and rude when I requested some sort of compensation since I paid in full and only got 10 holes in.
