Nickie has a very enchanting personality that immediately put us all at ease. She took us back to her office which is quiet, cozy, and very relaxing. She handed my son a mind attentive building toy that he thoroughly enjoyed as she read me a questionnaire designed to diagnosis ADD. We talked for hours and it was obvious the this was her area of expertise. Nickie is so intelligent and informative about Mental Health Disorders. She is very understanding, supportive, and encouraging in her counseling sessions. Her therapy provides me with skill-building techniques to promote better organization, time management, and self-regulation that helps sooth my anxiety on a daily basis. Before she designed me a treatment plan, I was always late, mixing up dates and times for my sons scheduled appointments, and had piles of clothes stacked on our kitchen table. We feel her methods are very effective and have been life changing for my family. Her love for children is apparent as she shows deep compassion for my son that was diagnosis with ASD recently. By her counseling me, I am a more well-rounded responsible parent and wife. She always includes my son's and husband's feelings in conversation to help us as a team to deal with the symptoms of ADD. We as a family owe tremendous gratitude to Miss Nickie, as my son would call her, for putting us on the right track for a happier, healthier, and easier life style. We recommend Nickie to anyone seeking help for troubling mental health issues. Also for difficult legal situations. She volunteered her time to help us through a heartbreaking ordeal with my son at his school. To say that she was unprofessional and rude would be a massive understatement. We had two appointments booked and received an email in the morning that both had been cancelled. Calling the office is pointless, as it just leads to a voicemail that goes unanswered. Same thing with their chat function. So after booking new ones for next week, I receive notifications that they are back on for today. Once I arrived, Gina took it upon herself to rudely inform me that she knows nothing about each of my kids since I didn't submit an intake form and that's why she cancelled us, even though both were submitted. She then rudely told me that she was unhappy with me for not answering her call this morning. I have five outbound calls and zero inbound. When I let her know that I was unhappy about the confusion around the cancellations and not being able to reach the office, she said that none of these things were her problem and she can only take care of her own issues, whatever that is supposed to mean. To make things worse after all of this, she decided to openly discuss my 16 year old son and his "diagnosis" (which seems completely unlikely but that's a whole other issue) in front of his 13 year old sister, with no regard for his privacy. I let her know that she is rude and has no sense of customer service. I also told her that she acted unethically by discussing my son's "diagnosis" with other members of the family, without even considering whether he would want that. She repeatedly stated that no one has ever had a problem with her or her service, which from reading these reviews is obviously false. I will never do business with this practice again, and if this quack stays employed there, I'd highly recommend no else does either.

She has helped me through some of my past/present traumatic life events and intrusive thoughts through A.R.T. and chatting. To start, this facility was closed down for a month earlier this year when a new parent company…read moretook over. As a result, nearly all of the staff are new and no one knows exactly what their roles are yet. Some of the staff think this may be back to being a premier facility in 6 months, and perhaps it will, but that doesn't help anyone seeking treatment right now. The website is outdated and for the old facility. They no longer have most of the care options that are listed on the website (that was for the old facility) so there is no art therapy (unless you consider making friendship bracelets therapy), horse therapy, animal therapy or offsite visits. They had vans that would take groups to and from some offsite activities, but they got rid of them and now the entire program is nearly all classroom based. If you have unresolved trauma that you need help finally dealing with, the classroom setting actually may be of value for you. If you are seeking a tranquil setting simply for anxiety where you can reset your mind and body, this is definitely not the place for you. I will say all of the patients seemed extremely open and honest, which makes you feel comfortable speaking about anything so even if you have a severe trauma and haven't dealt with it, the positive is that here you will likely feel safe talking about it. However, it is anything but relaxing. Even the mediation is interrupted by employees going in and out and walking right through activities that are sound-based. Also, if you are thinking of going here, I would make a list of everything on the website that is attracting you to the facility and ask pointedly if they currently have that treatment/activity available. My suggestion would be to do this via email and get the responses in writing. Also ensure that you understand phone and visitation privileges if this is of importance to you. My advice is to get this in specific detail before providing any insurance information. There is also little to do during free times as there is only one TV with Netflix (no cable) and one TV with 4 news stations on it for all patients. If you are an avid reader, you might be fine with this. There is presently only one case worker for all patients so, in her defense, I feel she has far too much on her plate but that doesn't alleviate the issues. Currently they have no chef so if you have dietary issues, this could pose a problem as well. The only saving grace were Neil and Tony, who are both outstanding. I won't get into further specifics but the only way I would recommend this facility is if you have truly unresolved trauma that might be addressed with a classroom setting and homework to truly get past the issue.

I was asked to accompany my relative to a session and I was very happy that my loved one found someone they could relate to about their emotions. It is not an overnight fix to years of problems but it is a great start and we both have continued to do what we can to improve our family dynamic. I can say this is a safe and welcoming space and a caring counselor trying to find solutions to improve all of our quality of life. We have a long way to go but moving forward into positive results feels good.
