Super cute store with a little bit of everything in a fancy little Plaza, hidden in the middle of nowhere, far away from the freeways, in Richardson. We come to this plaza for Feng Cha (Bubble Tea), and every time we do Barbie ends up shopping here if it's open. She always finds a few things she wants. Actually no - she finds about 57 things she wants and then buys at least five of them... After I veto most of it because I don't want her spending her entire life savings in one trip to a random store. read more

We weee so excited to spend a day at our neighborhood area for a wonderful haircut at Lombardo's and the best burger in Richardson at Shady's. We were shocked at the treatments that we received at Beyond the Door, who highlight the opportunity to go back into the past for a fun shopping experience. I think they moved too far into the past because we sat at the payment line with zero acknowledgment from an older lady, who treated the blond lady in front of us with the best hospitality. After five minutes of waiting right in front of the lady, we put the over $200 of Mother's Day and birthday gifts back on the shelf. A simple "Good morning" or "I will right with you" would have been the right thing to do. Ignoring us left the worst impression for this neighborhood store. read more

Great little store the ladies that work there are the nicest and they gift wrap everything you purchase

this store is super cute and has the most adorable things but the employees are super snobbish and not willing to help you and they often close way earlier than their store hours claim too. it's just annoying when you're trying to get a birthday gift and they're never open when you want them to be . despite them having their schedule on the door it is not accurate. read more

Apparently this is not a place to bring your children. My son is 16 months old and a group of us came in to shop. Collectively over $400 was spent. The ladies working (while they weren't brave enough to say anything to me) were very concerned I allowed my son to walk around and touch things (of course if he ruined or broke anything we would have paid for it). Not only that, but made several comments about where the tissue was placed that I used to wipe his nose. I put it back in my purse because I'm not a slob, but to be so rude and lacking of basic customer service skills is truly appalling. I will never spend a penny at this store. read more

This is a neat little shop nestled in the neighborhood. Everything from clothing to trinkets galore can be found housed in this shop. My wife apparently loves this place because of the unique clothing, but when we need to get a gift for someone, we come here because the stuff they have is not typically found anywhere else. read more

I really do love this store. It has lots of cute little things that are perfect for gifts. With that being said, do not expect great customer service. I remember when this boutique first opened, everyone else's greeted and thanked. Now, you may be lucky if they acknowledge you if you're just the average person. The last few times I have visited Beyond the Door I was not greeted and barely acknowledged as I checked out. At times there was only one or two other people in the store, while the other times it was a little busier. It seems as though unless you pull up in a luxury car, a mani, your Louis Vuitton bag, and so on, you get ignored. It seems that if you appear to be rich you get attention. If you appear to be middle class or lower, you don't. The women who work there, with the exception of one, care more about talking to each other when most people walk in. The second they see someone "made of money" walk in it's "hello" and "how are you?" and so on. Everyone who steps inside this boutique should be treated fairly and with respect because we are all paying customers, however, a paying customer can quickly decide to go to another store and get the same item, or something similar and probably for cheaper, if they have a bad experience. I think by now you all get my point. I hope they get my point and start to change how they treat people. read more

Love this local store over in Richardson- great place to stop to pick up a gift for a friend or family member. They have really cute stuff like: house decor, stationary, jewelry, candles - everything is really nice quality. The owner is really sweet - and you can sign up on their email list for upcoming sales. Also, the first time I went in, it was after work one evening- I asked what time they closed- and she said there was no set time- she then offered me a glass of wine while I shopped! I have always loved this cute shop but the last 2 times in 2 weeks I have been there none of the employees even acknowledged I was there. Not a welcome, hello or goodbye. Very disappointing. The most adorable boutique I've been to on this side of town. They often have sales and discounts on little trinkets, accessories, clothes, you name it. I often go in there after eating at Frankie's next door just to browse around. The ladies in there are the sweetest too. Great place to go if you're looking for a unique gift for a girlfriend! They even have guys gifts too. There's also a nice variety of different candles and it always smells amazing when you walk in! Definitely worth checking out. read more

Super cute boutique in the hard to find Canyon Creek shopping center which is unique in itself. Beyond the Door offers nothing that you won't find in everyother "boutique". The one star is primarily for the poor, snobbish customer service. The shop wasn't that busy when I visited on a Tues. afternoon. Not a single employee spoke to me. I can say that I saw "Beyond the Door" but it certainly isn't worth a second viewing. read more

I just visited this store about an hour & a half ago and my experience compelled me to write my first ever review of a store. I walked in & was not greeted by both women talking loudly inside. Not wanting to think much of it I continued to shop until I made eye contact with a worker & still did not get any greeting or offering of help (I was the only customer by the way). As I headed out a woman was sweeping leaves and I stood looking at her thinking she would move...she only kept talking to the woman loudly at the front desk. I continued to wait and as she finished she made eye contact and did not say 'thank you' or 'goodbye.' I've never had an experience like that & I strongly hope it wasn't because my skin is brown...but this is America. I will not be visiting this store again...& they should evaluate how they treat customers. read more
