Finally! A place where I don't spit the coffee out and cry in a corner that there's nowhere out…read morehere that makes coffee ala like there is in the inner west. Not overpriced and really rather yummy brunch & lunch options. Seating inside and out. Heaps of free parking and genuinely pleasant staff mean that I dare say we will be here more often. The cafe is tucked behind Bunnings next door to the climbing gym. If you are in the area and need a caffeine or food hit. Check these guys out.

Having just opened before Christmas it's the new kid on the block at Woodville Road in Villawood. Right across from the epicentre of Bunnings, AMF Bowling, Skirmish, Indoor Rock Climbin, Cross Fit and Real Estate agency, it will be impossible for this place to not become a local favorite! So much familiarity with dishes like the old salmon and capers combo we love, and The Woods Pantry (TWP) is really clever not to rock the boat too much, addin little touches like the dill caper cream cheese topping, pickled onion and lemon preserve. Such minor changes with powerful flavour sensations overall in the dish. Much is the same with the Vanilla French Toast which combines caramel and passionfruit - genuis!!! Adding pistacchios into the mix we maintain the Mediterranean touch that seems to appear throuhout the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Again this is done with the old CLT which is jazzed up with lemon marinated grilled chicken breast smothered with a layer of hommus! For me, the definite favorite was the Breakfast Mezze with the many components to play with making every single bite different and better than the next. Your flatbread fillings include eggs, lebanese beef sausages, potato rosti, haloumi, marinated mushroom, labneh, and the fresh crunch and zest from cucumber, olive and tomato. Nice modern fitout with wide open spaces with a view into the busy centre complex, it's great casual hangout space that you'd definitely come back to regularly!

Now....the pasta...looked great when it came out and smelt good but oh boy oh boy was it salty. You may think it's fine but I found it to be way too salty, I still ate some of it but I could not finish my food. The pasta was well cooked and not overcooked at all, so I cannot falt that. As I mentioned you may all find it delicious but it wasn't for me. The place is always busy so do not expect to get table without a booking, you will be waiting a little while but the staff do try their very best to find you a table if you do not have a booking. Bookings are super easy, I did mine via Opentable app and got me 100 points just for making a booking. Plenty of parking as the cafe is inside Flower Power.

We came on a Sunday around 11:30 am and she'd made a reservation. Reservations are recommended on weekends as the cafe had a very long line when we arrived. The staff seated us immediately after arriving and were prompt in giving us waters. Menus and ordering are done with QR codes. My husband got the açaí bowl while I had the halloumi salad. Both were very delicious and servings were generous; I was only able to finish half of my dish. Would recommend coming if you're local to the area.

Damn, this place is pretty fly. I've passed by it but I'd never gone in for a meal until today…read more I've always been fascinated by the coffee brewing in all the science like glass wear. It drips and percolates and fumigates and yeah I know nothing about coffee. Even with the modern look of the cafe it still has it's homely pleasures with the solid wooden and metal tables. The menu maintains traditional cafe meals while exploring flavour combinations which sound, look and TASTE impressive. Order at the counter. Pay at the counter. Take your number and take a seat. The service is very fast. It was our waitress's first day. She had been trained very professionally and knew her stuff. Big breakfast for myself and a breakfast gnocchi for the wife. I know. Breakfast pasta? Could such a thing work? My wife being the pasta-holic that she is needed to try it out. The big breakfast was excellent. The eggs (scrambled) were perfect. Everything perfect. Even the pile of smashed avocado, sitting in the centre of my plate like a fat green blob, tasted great. Avocado usually freaks me out. The breakfast gnocchi was amazing but became overwhelming in the later half of the meal. The gnocchi itself was the creamiest clouds of potato yum-yum I'd ever had. The crispy potato skins added wisps of texture throughout the meal. The tomato chutney sauce was delicious but was also the reason why the flavours become too intense. Two coffees and two meals came to a solid $51. A bit steep but it was very tasty and well worth it. Kept us full all morning and early afternoon. We'd return here again.

In all honesty I was surprised how awesome this place actually was. In front of the Coles you would…read morenot look twice, but this would be a mistake as this little cafe is great! Now as it is in a shopping center the atmosphere is not as hipster as other cafes, but for once I think we can get over the place of a cafe, if the food and coffee are worth it. The best thing here is the food. Firstly it came out quite quickly, and I was starving at the time, this was greatly appreciated. Secondly, it was fantastic! Worth every cent that I paid for. Now, I've only come here for breakfast so no idea how good the lunch is. When the coffee came out I was slightly anxious. Would be as good as the food? It was a good cup, but not the best cup of coffee I've ever had, hence why only 4-stars. However, I think it is better than all the other cafes in the center. So if you are in the area, this cafe is definitely worth the visit.

The Smelly Cheesecake Cafe - Matcha cheesecake + iced matcha latte = the perfect "matcha"!

Smelly Cheesecake Cafe, I love you so "matcha"!…read more Sydney seems to be having a love affair with matcha as big names such as Café Cre Asion and Chanoma Cafe are topping the lists of must-visit places. Trendy, it is. Healthy, it is also! Matcha is known to be a superfood that is rich in nutrients and antioxidants, improves energy and increases energy levels to name a few benefits. Riding on this wave is The Smelly Cheesecake Cafe with some inspired matcha dishes, namely the matcha cheesecake which was absolutely phenomenal. The top layer of matcha was fluffy, added a pop of pale green color to an otherwise traditionally monochromatic dessert and the flavor was quite subtle but definitely noticeable. The bottom cheesecake was decadent, added a bit of tang and was supremely smooth and creamy. The matcha layer made up about 80% of the dessert while the actual cheesecake layer made up about 20% which may seem like a huge discrepancy but eaten together, it was the perfect concoction as it wasn't too rich, wasn't too sweet and wasn't too tangy. Portion-wise, it was a bit on the smaller side as it left me craving more. Before I talk about the iced matcha latte, I must preface this by saying that I'm a big fan of Starbucks' Green Tea frap. The one I had at the Smelly Cheesecake Cafe was much less sweet and just as creamy and refreshing. I don't have a single bone to pick when it comes to this spot. Plenty of comfortable seating, some pillows, inviting atmosphere and super friendly service! Perfect for a catch up session or even a date.

We also ordered the French Toast, two French brioche toasts, vanilla ice cream, custard, berries, compote, crushed pistachios and maple syrup 4/5. Every component had a purpose and even the rocket was dressed with vinegar to dance on my tongue of course. It was much better than the photo posted around 10 months before my visit today. Even then I was keen but now it's blown my mind- never underestimate good food. B-fast plate is $18 add on from bacon, sausage, hash browns are $2. This is now the to go brunch venue.
