Dale and crew removed two trees from our back yard. One was simple the other very tricky. He was…read morehonest, fast, and did excellent work. I highly recommend him. Dale was prompt with his quote. He juggled his schedule to accommodate me. He was very personable as was his wife. The kind of old-school charm that makes you wish they were your neighbors. In addition to giving an honest and fair quote Dale offered me a significant discount if I was willing to have him leave the trees. Much appreciated and I took him up on that. Not many business will tell you how to have them charge you less. He would not accept payment until I viewed and approved of his work. In a day and age where it feels like everyone is out to "get theirs" no matter what that does to others, Dale was a breath of fresh air. His cost was well below other quotes (a lot less). His manners and courtesy could not have been better. They were prompt and cleaned up when they left.

The cost was high and the results were a disgrace. The first day the owner, Dale, worked with the…read morecrew and that section of the work was fine. After that Dale was not on-site, due to health issues with his mother and the crew made several serious errors in what and how they cut it. When discussing the sad results with Dale, his only response was "They said you were adding tasks." and "They said you told them to do it." Cutting all next spring's buds off my big camellia wouldn't really be something I would have asked anyone to do. Trimming the juniper after I had told Dale we would skip it until it could recover from a previous poorly executed trimming, isn't something I would do. (They had started on it before I noticed what was happening.) But the holly! The instructions, which had been demonstrated by means of pictures I took of the line of bushes, were to top the entire run of vegetation. The crew not only topped the holly, but entirely stripped the branches from three of the four sides of the tree! There remain what appear to be posts standing where there had been a tree. (See the picture) Again, no response from Dale. The cuttings were not all thrown to the ground to be hauled away, but remain wedged into the remaining bushes near the holly. Dale had begged me to pay him the day before the job was done so he could pay his bills and I complied, against my better judgment. Future customers, take note! The experience was not entirely negative. I had left an extra $100 bill in the envelope I gave Dale, and he returned it. Valerie did a nice job tidying up the step area around an unused door. Kind gestures, both.

I got bids from 4 different companies, but I knew right away I'd be hiring Green Triangle. Victor knows trees and showed me three of the many Douglas Fir trees that were diseased and had to come down. He walked the property taking notes. We have an acre. He and his crew also got rid of enormous patches of blackberries and scotch broom, clearing the pasture and cleaning up the front and back yards. He had a huge job to do, left the site clean, and did excellent work. He also had appropriate equipment (which was good, because enormous limbs of the overgrown trees were being chipped just about all day). The cost was very reasonable as well. To say he and his crew went above and beyond is an understatement. Green Triangle is the company to hire, hands down.
