From the top down, I believe the business reflects a disturbing lack of integrity and moral compass. I echo the concerns shared by other reviewers about their employee Oscar. In my personal experience, he behaved in an extremely sleazy and inappropriate manner inside my home and as an elderly woman, I found his presence disturbing and entirely unprofessional. In my opinion, no household with vulnerable individuals--especially children, women, or the elderly--should ever consider hiring Mold Masters. I was not at all surprised to read other allegations about theft and misconduct. What I personally witnessed and experienced by Oscar made me deeply uncomfortable and fearful for my safety and those in my home. The business owner, Austin, is another reason I would never recommend this company. In my opinion, he has a frightening temper and is incredibly difficult to communicate with. Each time I had to speak with him, I felt a genuine sense of anxiety due to his explosive attitude. That's no way to run a service-oriented business. And if you needed further evidence of this company's lack of transparency--take a look at the photo "Austin" uses to represent himself on yelp's webpage. In my opinion, it's shockingly deceptive. The man in that photo looks nothing like him--completely different race, hair color, and overall appearance. If you're hiding behind someone else's image, what else are you willing to lie about? In my experience, Mold Masters dramatically overcharged for work that was questionable at best. I believe they take advantage of consumers like myself in stressful situations and exploit their vulnerability. California law (B&P Code §7159) limits contractor deposits to no more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. If a contractor ever demands more than $1000 upfront deposit -- that's a red flag. If you value honesty, professionalism, and basic decency--in my personal opinion--AVOID Mold Masters at all costs. I truly regret ever letting them through my door. Response to Owner comments: Even your response here, unfortunately, reflects the same disingenuous behavior I experienced while dealing with your company. You write that the court "found this person liable for damages," which is misleading and deceptive. Many people may choose to settle an unpleasant situation--not because the claims were legitimate or the conduct acceptable. As far as I'm concerned, I refuse to and have not voluntarily given an additional dime to a business that tried to take advantage of an elderly person. Also, your use of the word "found" falsely implies that there was a trial where the court acted as a fact finder--evaluating evidence, hearing testimony, and reaching conclusions about the quality of your work. That never happened. What you should be addressing in your response "Austin" or whoever you are in that photo- are the real consumer concerns raised in this review: * Are you demanding more than $1,000 in deposits in violation of California law (B&P Code §7159)? * Is Oscar, your employee, engaging in inappropriate behavior with vulnerable consumers in their homes? * And most bizarre of all--why are you using a photo on Yelp that is clearly not you? Consumers deserve transparency, especially from someone entering their home. This review is not "revenge" or "retribution." It took time to write precisely because I was navigating legal threats during the dispute. Once the dust settled, I felt it was my responsibility to warn others. The first crew zipped up the bathroom area and laid paper to protect the floor. The removal took a day. Then, Manny came over, installed a new drywall ceiling. They painted it the next day. Then, they went to work on the tiles. That process took another day or so to clean and properly seal them. The shower stall looks brand new. I'm not kidding. I'm kind of amazed. These guys were really nice, and they were very clean. They put paper down from the bathroom all the way to the front door.

They found water damage in 2 bedrooms, the hallway, the walls, the ceiling & flooring. They set up fans and air cleaners to dry things out. They were so professional, thorough, efficient and especially important, during this upsetting crisis, they were very patient and kind. They came out promptly once every day to check the equipment and how it was performing. PROS: 1) Mitigation was phenomenal. The pack out team was…read moreextremely efficient and professional and paid extra care to our belongings. 2) Demo was fine, however they broke a few things (cabinet riser, damage to walls that weren't there before) and did not address it to the restoration team = lack of good communication between teams 3) Customer service was great and friendly via text and over the phone CONS: 1) DO NOT USE THEM FOR RESTORATION!!! We really wanted to hire another professional restoration company that only does restoration/painting etc but ServPro assured us they had a great, qualified and highly experienced team and we trusted them (I mean the rest of the work was excellent, so why wouldn't we trust them?). However, that was clearly not the case for our home. One "painter" even started painting the walls the incorrect color when I stopped him halfway through to get it corrected. The finishes, especially in our bathroom were really bad. So bad that we regretted hiring them for that part of the job. The bathroom looked rushed (as I believe it was the last part) and they ended the painting that day and quickly got out of there. So they had cut a baseboard the wrong length and used putty to "complete the look". That was absolutely unacceptable!! They left paint splatter all over our cabinet and - well lots of little issues here and there. The trim was replaced incorrectly and there was a gap. There was also a huge gap between the baseboard and the tiles with no grout. We were so unhappy with the project manager, Luis, signing off on the "complete project" and he acted as though nothing was wrong when he came back or didn't seem to see the imperfections all over the bathroom. After discussing our disappointment with Tabi the owner (who is very friendly and understanding), we decided to part ways. Tabi did give us a nice allowance off our original estimate and we used that $ to hire a true handyman / carpenter professional who fixed what Servpro ruined. I would recommend ServPro GG MITIGATION but only stick with the mitigation work. They also got paint dust over a few of our belongings that we later realized.
