I used this company for a home inspection later last year. I was told about a lot of small things like a not properly installed/mounted plug in the access area in the wall for the HVAC. So, I thought this company was no joke... Which was an about $30,000 mistake. As I paid the extra fee for the "pool/spa inspection". The inspector had zero idea what he was doing with the pool "inspection". The pool turned out to be completely compromised. The plaster lining has to be replaced because there are cracks so that are leak leaking behind the plaster. The entire filter and heater are compromised. Everything has to be replaced. read more

I'll start out by saying that our Inspector (Kenny L.) was outstanding and very deserving of 5 Stars This service is a budget inspection that covers a lot of territory, but it is only cursory. If I were purchasing a home, I would NOT choose this level of service; something much more in-depth would be necessary. For our purposes (long-term residents with no intention of selling our home), the service was fine. We did not receive our Air Quality report (a separate service for an additional fee), so I called two weeks later and they forwarded it to me immediately. A positive experience overall. read more

We purchased a house earlier this year, and the inspection was arranged by our realtor. On the day of, the inspector seemed friendly and efficient, but he also seemed more concerned about getting through his checklist as quickly as possible than performing a thorough inspection. For example, when I asked him whether the foundation had been seismically retrofitted with anchor bolts, he said there wasn't easy enough access in the crawlspace to be able to tell. And in the report he just assumed, "Anchor Bolts: None - typical for homes built prior to 1935." First, our house was built in 1938. Second, it's been renovated extensively, so it's not unreasonable to think the foundation might be retrofitted. And third, isn't it your job to confirm this? A couple months later, we got an unusually heavy week of rain, and we noticed a couple leaks coming through the ceiling--every homeowner's nightmare. We called a handful of contractors to take a look, and they all immediately identified cracks on the inside corners of the roof where it was missing flashing. We filed a claim with Elite Inspection, and initially they argued that the inspection could not attest to the maintenance of the roof. Fair, but this had nothing to do with the maintenance; it was a case of improper installation, something that every contractor noticed immediately. Finally they agreed to send their own contractor (who identified the same issue). They provided a quote to have the flashing installed, which we were OK with. But when when we asked to just have the amount reimbursed to us, so that we could choose a contractor we liked, Elite Inspection refused. Instead, they told us that we had to go with the contractor that they chose, even though other people had bad experiences with them based on the reviews we read. If it's the same amount, it's bewildering why Elite Inspection couldn't give us the reimbursement. Maybe they have a special arrangement with that specific contractor, which would be disconcerting. Shortly after, they sent us another message saying that they would actually only refund the inspection fee--as a "gesture of goodwill," but only if we signed an indemnification agreement (which we decided not to). All of this points to hasty work and questionable business practices. On the surface, they seem like an efficient and professional company--they have nice uniforms, professional business cards, and a flashy-looking report. But their inspection is only cursory and fails to identify any issues of which you should actually be aware. I wouldn't trust them again, especially with something as important as this. read more

After calling three times today I promised I would write a yelp review if the manager did not get back to me. They have been writing my business name incorrectly throughout their marketing and 3rd party affiliate marketing without my permission. When I called to get it corrected no one is able to call back. This is the 5th year in a row where I notice my company name is completely wrong on reports and 3rd party company branding (unauthorized) and the customer service person assures it has corrected (again), but I am sure it is not. Said that my garbage disposal was operational and also tested however it is not working and I had someone else take a better look at it and he saw that it is cracked and leaking I can see the leak too that is dried from previous tenants. Garbage disposal is not very expensive however this is very disappointing that they lied and now I will have to foot the bill and the time. Also very inconvenient as it cannot be used during time of cooking and dishes very inconvenient have to be very careful not to wash anything down the drain and that is a challenge when having to have get stains off dishes. If they cannot correctly check something as simple as a garbage disposal how about more complex and more expensive things? Very disappointing!! read more

It's been three years since we bought our home in summer 2021, and Cory Hett of Elite Group did our inspection. He worked for several hours, went down into both dusty crawl spaces, and up into both of the sweltering attics, where there were signs of termites, rodent infestation, and all that fun stuff-- but he remained cheerful and energetic, and did his job thoroughly. The house had tons of issues, and he explained to us in person what he was seeing, and also documented everything, with copious photos, in a 56-page report that was very understandable. Many issues were minor, but we were glad to know about them all. In the three years since, we have been slowly fixing the place up, and we haven't had any nasty surprises, thanks to that detailed report. Incompetent, unprofessional, rude and callous - overall bad work, and it was frustrating working with them. We purchased a home, for which Elite did 2 general inspections for. Given that these inspections were done twice, we had relative confidence in them. Fast forward a couple months after we moved in, our AC stopped working. It turns out that our HVAC system was missing an entire part (a water pump) that caused the furnace to flood. We had to replace the entire furnace and some other parts of our system, which cost us upwards of $4.5k. There were a couple core issues with my experience: 1. Lack of professional quality and expertise. Elite completely missed the *lack of water pump* which was required for the HVAC system to work properly (and not flood our furnace) 2. Frustrating customer service. After the claim was submitted, it took over a month to get resolved. There was little communication from their end, and they would *never* call back when they said they would - I had to call them multiple times a week (and multiple times a day sometimes to get ahold of a claims representative) to get the issue resolved I want to mention that this is especially a terrible experience because some of the customer service people are so rude - constantly cutting me off, refusing to transfer the call for no reason, and talking over me defensively the entire time. At the end of it, Elite refused to take ownership over their miss, and provided a rejection reason that the HVAC contractor labeled as "incorrect". I would never refer them to anyone given this experience. read more
