I could not wait to write this review for BHC roofing. If I could it would be ten stars. I initially contacted the office two years ago to clean clogged gutters and for an estimate on replacement shingles for my home. I had the gutters done at the time and told them I would get back to them on the shingle replacement. Well as it goes it wasn't until July 24th, 2023, when I contacted them again regarding the shingle replacement and another cleaning for my gutters (I waited too long in replacing the shingles, which were now falling off and causing the gutters to clog again). First surprise was when a person answered instead of a voicemail. Ann was lovely, pulled my invoice from 2021, I told her what I needed and within 45 minutes had an email from Bob with a revised estimate. The revised estimate was essentially the same as two years ago! Same day Melissa contacted me to follow up, even offered to come to my house the next day to drop off the sample of shingles for me to select. Since I was working, we made arrangements for me to stop by the office Wednesday. Wednesday came and I was babysitting my grandchildren who were sick, Melissa told me not to worry and she would come to my son's house. She reviewed everything, was very knowledgeable and so sweet. In the meantime, Sean had contacted me set up the gutter cleaning for Tuesday and the shingle replacement for Saturday. On Friday, I contacted Ann regarding hanging new shutters which I had purchased which were not initially discussed. Again, no problem. Sean had given me the details of when the crew would arrive. As noted, Jay and his crew arrived promptly at 7:30. They were great, did a beautiful job with the shingle replacement, and cleaned everything up. From the first call to completion of the job a total of six days. Everyone at this company needs to be recognized for their professionalism, great customer service, and most importantly, honest caring individuals wanting to do right for their customers. This review is for my second experience with BHC Roofing. My first experience was fantastic and I followed up with a review with that as well. I am remodeling my downstairs half bath and once I ripped my ceiling down, I realized I had a pretty significant leak in my roof. I called BHC Roofing and Bill (the owner) came out to assess the damage as he did the first time. After the assessment we talked about family for about 20 minutes. I was about to have my 2nd daughter. He was telling me about his kids, how much he values family and what to expect as they grow. I could tell his family was where his heart was.  I told them I had to demo a bit more so I wasn't in a crazy hurry. It was the busy season and at the time we were getting a TON on rain. A few weeks went by which was unusual from my first experience with them. When I contacted them they were super apologetic and sent someone out in 1 HOUR! I was honestly just trying to remind them but they were truly disappointed and had 2 men including one of their foreman's out immediately! The men who have come to work on my home are always extremely polite and very hard workers. They had to cut out part of my roof and had the plywood and shingles down in about 2 hours. They even worked through a short rain storm without letting it get into my house! My wife even feels totally comfortable with them being there when only her and the kids are home. Which tells a lot about their character.  Im choosing to keep the details private, but they did something so kind for me and my family my wife, I almost cried. I want to truly thank Bill and his staff for not only being the best roofing company I ever dealt with but the classiest, honest, and most honorable contractor I have ever done business with. It is very rare for a business relationship to turn into one of the biggest blessing you've ever recieved and I am truly grateful for them! Thanks again BHC!! read more

Edit: I don't know why it says San Francisco, CA. We are in Bridgeport, PA The service was top notch, the workmanship was solid. They fixed the problem I had in my roof very efficiently and quickly. I had other roofing companies who did not even call me back. I called BHC on a Friday afternoon. The very next Monday morning the estimator came out and used a drone (how cool is that) to see what was needed. By that afternoon I had a proposal. We signed the proposal the next day and dropped the check off. I was told that it would be 4-6 weeks, which is understandable that they are busy. Anne told me that if I needed a quick fix that she could probably send a crew to tarp it or whatever was needed. A week later, we were looking at some rain coming up so I emailed them. By the time I had seen Anne's reply, I called my wife to tell her a small crew was coming out. She told me they were already there and gone. They also told my wife that they could probably knock our roof out on Sunday if we were ok with that. The rain came and we did not have any leaks for the first time in a while. We were thrilled to have the roof completed in in just about 2 weeks at a price that we thought was more than fair and we now have a roof that does not require any maintenance with a 15-year warranty. They did not sub-out the work to another contractor which seems to be a normal thing in this business. Their own crew came, they were all great and they knocked it out in no time. Most companies don't remember you 20 minutes after you've completed payment, let alone over 20 months. I had a roof installed by BHC in early 2017. BHC will be my first call when it is time to reside my house. The service is amazing. Since the installation I've called them 3 times with questions. The first time I called right after the installation to make a small adjustment to my skylight. They responded with kindness and no charge as one might hope for from a really good contractor. The second time was over a year later, I had water in my basement, no sign of any water damage in the ceiling of the upper floor but I wanted them to check that there was nothing wrong with the edge of the roof that was allowing water to flow inside the walls where I could not see. They responded so quickly and arranged to come out. There wasn't a problem with roof; the siding at the base of the house was the issue exacerbated by leaves in my gutter. They cleaned my gutter and down spout where the siding issue was. I called to arrange payment and was not told "no worries, call us if you have any issues. This week my township mailed me a notice, the borough claimed the roof was never inspected and the permit was not properly closed. I know it was inspected; I spoke with the borough inspector. I called BHC. Again, the staff at BHC told me not to worry, contacted the borough, and took care of everything. I can not say enough good things about this company. read more

At 70 years of age you don't get many exciting days. Well thanks to BHC Roofing I have had four. During these troubling times this company has been my family. Bob in sales came and sent a Drone all around my large three story center city row home. I was so impressed with the technology. I received pictures and an estimate one day later. Next I met the most charming customer service specialist, Anne. She did the next steps with great ease. We became kindred spirits instantly. Paper work done and date set, Tuesday July 7th at 7:00 a.m., here came an army in four trucks. They surrounded the house back and front and got right to work. I got a call from Anne saying they were wrapping up for that day and would be back tomorrow, Wednesday. They were here 6:45 a.m. They worked totally from the back. Around 2 p.m. I got a call from Anne to say meet Jay in the yard. They completely cleaned my yard. Looked better than when they started. I am over the moon about my new family. Today at 7:45 a.m. I got a surprise. Two roofers came back with a brand new 8 foot aluminum red ladder to replace the one of mine they said they broke. They brought it in the house for me and went on their merry way. I want to say all this happened on three of the hottest days of this year in the unforgiving sun. If you need roofing done, there is no other company that you should even consider. Yeah and they wear uniforms. What roofing company does that? BHC does! read more

I was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism from BHC. When I first called, a administrative assistant, Anne, answered the phone and was well orginaized and able schedule an appointment with no hassles. I bring this up because I called another roofer the day before, he told me because of the rain he wouldn't be able to look at the roof, but would call me back when he could come out. Fine. I'm still waiting for the call back. BHC on the other hand, had excellent communication through the entire process. When Bill came out to inspect the roof, he handled himself with as much professionalism as Anne. I talked about changing to a larger downspout and diverting the water a different way and Bill was on the same page and accommodated the request. The workers showed up when they were scheduled and completed the work within the timeframe I was told. Pictures were taken and emailed to me, the work looked great, including the changes to the downspouts excactly as I requested. AND they accept credit cards, which was a huge plus. I'm not having any problems with my roof , but if I did I absolutely feel confident they would be right out to fix the problem. Bill the owner apologetically replied within the same day of my initial review and sent his roofers to my home that Saturday to install my new roof. Bill also offered a significant courteous discount for the inconvenience. The job was complete with pictures, 15 year warranty-certificate, and follow-up calls/email communication to confirm my satisfaction with the job. THE SPECIFICATIONS OF THE JOB: Secure rubber base to the entire roof. * Install a complete 15-year granulated modified bitumen roofing system as per CertainTeed's specifications. * Fabricate and install all new custom aluminum edge metal counter flashing * Supply and install new custom gutter box for proper drainage. * Supply and install one new section of 3" round downspout. * Provide a full 15-year transferable warranty. Disclaimer: I cannot physically examine the job myself, see the pix, and you be the judge. I was relieved to finally get the service of this reputable roofer because a great roofing service is hard to find. I didn't want to wander down the rabbit hole again. We contacted BHC to correct some drainage issues on the low slope roof on our home, and to install new roofing and flashing. Bob came out and we had a great discussion of the situation and potential solutions. He emailed us the same day with a detailed proposal and pricing. Three weeks later Anne contacted me about the scheduling and was very helpful in moving things around to have it work for us. When Nick, Mike and the rest of the crew showed up they were great! Friendly, organized, neat, and able to deal with the inevitable surprises that occurred when they removed the existing flashing and some damaged roofing. They installed new plywood as needed, a layer of tapered foam insulation board to improve the roof pitch for better drainage, and new roofing and custom flashings. They even put up with me coming out to inspect several times! I'm a general contractor, and this was by far the best roofing experience I've had in 40 years in the business. They got the permit, took photos during the work, and and did a great job cleaning up at the end. Everyone involved was professional, easy to communicate with, and clearly proud of doing the best job. Highly recommended! read more

If I could give BHC Roofing a higher rating I would! My roof was leaking intermittently which was a huge concern considering the upcoming forecast. After reading all of BHC's wonderful reviews on Yelp, I chose to call them and I'm so glad I did. Bill responded quickly to my call and we arranged an appointment for an estimate later that week. The estimate was fair and included photos along with a detailed description of what was needed. Bill's professional demeanor and years of experience assured me my roof was in skilled hands. We scheduled the repair for that Sunday. Bill texted me on Saturday saying he was going to do the repair on Saturday instead because rain was on the way. Now that's what I call GREAT SERVICE! Upon completion, Bill provided more pictures and even an AERIAL DRONE VIDEO! The following Monday it rained hard with strong wind gusts and my home was dry! I couldn't be a more satisfied customer! I really don't do Yelp reviews, but because I found BHC on Yelp, I have to repay the favor. Most of their business comes from referrals, this website and I gotta say -- we could not be happier with the service of all people on the team. It's a smaller business, family run which is a great thing. VERY responsive (one of the hardest things to get nowadays either by phone or email) and just an overall good feeling and trustworthyness. Their quote was more than reasonable, the work was fantastic and the whole team was very professional. Bill was so honest when quoting me, telling me what could wait a year or two, what needs to be done now, etc. The quote at the beginning was the same at the end, we even had a few issues that could have raised things a bit but he stuck to his word. It means so much to us to know that we now have a really good roofer in our Rolodex, one I'm so happy to refer to all my friends, neighbors, etc. You're doing yourself a disservice if you do not call BHC Roofing first. read more

A few months ago I had reached out to BHC for some flashing and gutter repairs on my roof. Their appraiser listened to our request and thoughtfully considered the problem. We had two other companies take a look, both were very pushy and insisted on a complete reinstall of the entire roof with very minimal inspection (our roof is getting there, but still has a few good years left in it). Initially I had difficulty getting the work scheduled, until the owner personally took notice of the situation. Afterwards, they provided amazing care and service, and were incredibly helpful in scheduling and coordinating (especially since the work took place right after our new son was born). The the work crew were professional and did a great job, completing everything as described, and fixing our leak. I would highly recommend to anyone. I will definitely be reaching out to them down the road when the full roof replacement is actually needed! read more

My roof was resurfaced in July and the work came with a 5 year guarantee. (Something I couldn't get from the previous two contractors plus one quote.) When the 5 years is up, I'll be calling them again to redo the roof. Not only did they give me photos of the current roof surface at the time of the estimate, but also finished photos after the work was done. I suspect the previous contractor just patched a few spots and went home. BHC actually resurfaced the whole roof, front to back, side to side. (I have a flat roof that needs regular maintenance. Even with proper maintenance, we had leaks all the time.) If I wasn't afraid of PTSD, I'd say bring on the rain; let's see what this baby can do. But I did sleep exceptionally well, knowing the work was actually DONE and there shouldn't be any more leaks for 5 years. (And they did say they'll be here if I do report any leaks between now and 2028.) Thank you, BHC!! read more

We reached out to several roofing companies before I happened to see the BHC team at a site during my morning run. I contacted them the same day and I am so happy we did. Everyone from the office to the inspector and their roofing crew are so professional, prompt, patient and willing to answer all questions and touch base base throughout the process. The inspector, Bob spent a good amount of time with us explaining the condition of the roof and options. The office was wonderful at updating us about the permit and once it was received, we got a call from Sean to schedule an appointment. I can't stress enough at how professional they are: I have never seen work done where the crew continuously cleaned up all debris from our home as well as any that fell in the neighbors yard. BHC Roofing did an excellent job from start to finish. We needed to have a new roof and gutters installed, and BHC Roofing did a terrific job and provided excellent service. BHC came out quickly to give us an estimate, worked with us to figure out what we needed, quoted a price that is more than fair/reasonable and we were able to get the job scheduled very quickly (and also, on days that worked for us). The team came out the day of the job (on time) and were very courteous, professional, and CLEAN! They were able to take off 3 layers of shingles, replace the entire roof and install new gutters in less than a day and a half! I would definitely recommend BHC Roofing to anyone who was in need (I've already spread the word to some neighbors about how happy we are with BHC), and if ever I should need a new roof again, I will definitely call them first. read more

Excellent service, including clean-up. They replaced two porch roofs and recoated my main flat roof. Working with BHC was a pleasure, and I recommend them to anyone. They showed up when scheduled for the estimate and promptly sent a detailed estimate (at a very reasonable cost!). Anne in the main office was a pleasure to work with and provided updates on scheduling, including a one-day delay because of snow. I was pleasantly surprised that they came back the very next day, got rid of the snow, and got to work. The crew was friendly and professional, and the work looks good. Each day, a gentleman knocked on the door at the beginning and end of the work day to give me an update. Within minutes of putting in a quote on Yelp, she immediately called me, and was so patient as we played phone tag. Despite it being a particularly busy and wet week, she made time for her team to come on a day that worked for us, and also was able to assess our situation using a few photos we sent her. She was super transparent about the state of our roof, but was also really committed to getting us the best solution at the lowest cost. Her awesome team showed up exactly when she said they would, and very quickly and efficiently repaired the roof at an incredibly reasonable price. The reviews for BHC are absolutely 100% legit. I noticed a leak and contacted a few different companies. Some contacted me back saying because of the recent weather it would be a few days before they could come out. I contacted BHC via Yelp and Anne contacted me within 10mins of my initial contact. I explained my situation and Anne said that she would see what she could do. She called me back immediately and I had 2 roofers at my home within an hour of my initial contact. Paul went up on the roof to take a look, explained in detail what was wrong, what could be done, and within 30mins the issue was resolved. A few days later I contacted Anne asking for a report of Paul's findings. They got back to me ASAP! They are amazing!!! Reliable, experienced, professional, they keep their word. I hired Bill Henkel Contracting in October, 2016 to replace the front part of my roof, patch the back, and install a skylight. The work was efficiently executed and high quality. The team was professional and nice. Despite those high marks, though, what really impressed me the most was the way that Bill, Anne, and the entire team worked to ensure I understood what was included in the estimate, how the work was to be done, addressed my questions and concerned, and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a positive experience. Prior to the work starting, Bill even went around to my neighbors and provided his card in case anyone had problems or questions. I had an excellent experience getting a new roof from BHC. Bill was responsive to questions before hand, providing options without pushing for unnecessary upgrades. Everything was clearly spelled out in writing and done exactly as stated. The work was done on schedule. (after one weather delay that was well beyond anyone's control). The team took pictures of the sub roof during the replacement so I could clearly see what had to be replaced and the condition of that which they did not replace. It was a large team considering my small house. They were efficient and my yard and driveway were cleaner after they left than when they arrived.
