After doing some online research and talking with a few photographers I decided to work with Stacey. We met in Old Town Alexandria one Saturday afternoon in October. I was nervous at first but shortly into our photo session I felt at ease as Stacey is friendly, professional and fun, not to mention amazing at what she does! She was also great with our greyhound and got some adorable shots of him. Stacey has a wonderful eye for light and color and found a lot of unique backgrounds for our photos. Our online gallery was available after about a week and a half and the results were fantastic! Soon after, Stacey scheduled a free consultation with us to view all our photos on the large computer screen that she has and to help us pick out which prints and framing options we wanted to put up in our home. She even helped us decide how best to place the photos on the wall. We received all our prints last week and have gotten our framed prints up on the wall, we couldn't be happier! If we were staying in the area I would absolutely work with Stacey again in the future.

It's wonderful to get these beautiful shots of our children growing up -- and have some shots with me that I love that aren't selfies! Years ago Stacey took an iconic (among our family and friends) photo of my son sulking off to the left of the Washington monument when my husband and I were were standing to the right smiling while pregnant with our daughter. We had an outdoor portrait session this fall in Washington D.C. I met with both Sharon Macorol (Bobbi Brown makeup artist) who did my makeup for that day, and Havar and was filled with both excitement and nerves. The duo were able to ease my nerves and were very welcoming and friendly. Sharon did a great job with my makeup and choose very flattering colors. I even ended up purchasing the lipstick she chose on me. Havar was able to direct me on how to pose, but also gave me the freedom to pose however I wanted to as well. He made the shoot very fun and comfortable even despite my initial awkwardness and lack of modeling ability. He was also very patient and did not rush the shoot, which I very much appreciated. This really showed me that he aims for, and values client satisfaction. What I was amazed by most was how quick Havar was in sending me the thumbnails of the shots. I believe he was able to send me all two hundred something of the thumbnails by the end of that night so that I could choose my top 10. After I chose my top 10, he had them edited and sent to my email the next day. I would definitely recommend Princeps Studio Photography to all of my friends for any type of photography that needs to be done. I have never met a more unprofessional wedding photographer, and I have years of experience of…read morebeing an assistant to a wedding photographer. This woman showed up in a t-shirt style jumper and sneakers to start. Comfort and mobility are important working, but so is blending in with a formal environment of a wedding. She was frazzled and didn't provide any direction and didn't have a plan, even though she was supposedly familiar with the venue and should know what photos she planned on taking. While, we, the bridal party was getting hair and makeup done for the wedding, she was snapping stills of the brides accessories for close to an hour. Where did she take these photos of the accessories? On the floor in the bathroom. This caused her to break my 1890s diamond and pearl pendant that I was loaning the bride into multiple pieces. I have no idea if she stepped on it or knelt on it moving crap around, but when confronted she insisted it was in pieces when she was taking photos already. It wasn't, I had check it that morning before she touched it and the chain was found on the floor in the bathroom. The rare, baroque nature pearl was never found. I had no recourse because she deleted any photos that would have shown the whole necklace. She didn't even try to find the missing pieces or apologize. When she did finally get around to taking photos of the bridal party, well behind schedule, there were zero instructions. No one knew what photos were being taken, no one knew where to go for the photos. The bride had a surprise for the groom that she knew about, but was no where to be found when it showed up. She kept directing us to walk through the grass in heels and then would change her mind once we got there so we had to keep going back and forth in muddy grass getting our dresses and shoes dirty. She didn't do any photography basics of staging and posing the bridal party, flooding the dress or giving any direction on how to stand, turn and face her for good photos. There is some actual skill in taking a good photo, not just relying on photoshop to do it all for you. It is also not the bridal parties responsibility to set up the photo. I have never had to do so much work being the subject of the photo. The other wedding aids who have worked with her in the past confirmed that she is always behind schedule and less than professional. During the reception she was in the way of everyone dancing trying to get photos. Wedding guests were having to constantly move around her. Even without her destroying an heirloom necklace, she is not someone I would ever hire. I will say the bride and groom turned out beautiful, they are beautiful people and it's not hard to capture that. Following this review, they were contacted and begging to have it removed, so I did edited it. Once again they failed to take accountability for their mistakes and use a negative review to do better. Everyone deserves a chance to improve, but if they aren't willing to listen to criticism they never will. I wait to give reviews until I am no longer livid with the experience and can give a fair and accurate review. You don't have to be a paying customer to have a horrible experience with a business. Do better.
