I waited some time before approaching the saleswoman, as I didn't want to interrupt what I assumed was a transaction. But I noticed there were no shoes out, and the three were simply chatting. That's when I realized they were friends, not customers. When I expressed interest in trying on shoes, the saleswoman seemed reluctant but retrieved a pair and left them on the counter. When I brought up a second pair, she went to the back again. It was during this time--while trying on shoes and waiting--that I noticed the tone of the radio, which surprised me. I clearly recall the man smiling and saying, "We enjoy it," when I reacted. The saleswoman's back was to me throughout. Her reaction as I describe it is true to my memory. 2. About my reviewing style: I'm not someone who writes critical reviews lightly. In fact, you can check my profile--until this experience, I had only ever written 5-star reviews. I genuinely enjoy supporting local businesses and was simply looking for a pleasant afternoon and a new pair of shoes. 3. Why I'm responding: This will be my final word on the matter.
