I love a good Grocery Outlet. The cashiers that work here have been making me want to stop shopping at this one. - Most are annoyingly talkative, making it challenging to leave after my transaction is complete or, it means that those of us in line are stuck waiting for them to finish a conversation with a customer who looks like they want to leave and carry on with their day. I will now pick a longer line if I know that cashier isn't annoyingly chatty. What brought me here today: -Can you provide training to cashiers on what we should do with baskets, and just leave a sign for customers? After putting my contents on the belt and the basket on the floor under the belt, like I feel most stores ask, I was told by the cashier to put it away by the front door or hand it to him. I've never been told to put a basket by the front door, but okay? He then said I should just but the basket on the belt like the person in front of me. Again, okay, that's just not what other stores want. I don't use a basket often, but I will remember for the future. Put the basket on the belt today with a different cashier and she made a show of dumping the contents of my basket onto the belt while glaring at me. I did have to check my products after as there were some more fragile items that I was worried were damaged. I'm sorry. I promise I'm not trying to be difficult, I just don't know what I'm supposed to do here. I want to shop here but the folks who work here are making it miserable. I don't want to hear the cashier's conspiracy theories, I don't want to be chastised anytime I use a basket, I don't want to explain why Im not celebrating Christmas. read more

Lady working there said "we can't give the bathroom code out too many do drugs and steal in the bathroom" Grocery outlet, your "judgement" is off on this call. I bought a large bag of cheese Monday. I thought it tasted funny. I found mold in it. I called about returning it. They asked if I had my receipt. I don't. I was informed that some managers are more lenient than others. Mind you this is a brand of cheese I have never seen anywhere else. I can't believe one needs a receipt to return bad food. It's a good thing that pre-pandemic, I rarely shopped here - the selection is too random and unpredictable. But I stopped in today and noticed, besides not having what I was looking for, a couple of entirely unmasked patrons and quite a few poorly masked employees. I see from another Yelper's review that the owner (manager?) of the store doesn't believe in masks and even thinks the governor's mandate "isn't the law," which is ignorant and moronic. The grocery outlet is a fantastic place to treasure hunt for great deals on quality products. I always find lots of "better for you" brands like: Canadian Farms, Sir Kensington, KIND among others. Plan to stock your pantry here and expect to go elsewhere for your produce. The selection of products is different from day to day, so stock up if you find something you like. It's not a place to do all of your shopping, so if you walk in here expecting a selection like you would find at Safeway you will be disappointed. read more

I can't do all of my grocery shopping at Grocery Outlet, but I find products there that I can't find at any other grocery store in central Oregon. Their frozen food choices are excellent and their frozen vegetarian selections are better than I've seen anywhere else in the area. Their produce selection is pretty good, but not great. You have to really check the produce to make sure that it is fresh and selection is limited. The prices on the "gourmet" cheeses in the wine section are unbelievable. Their kitchenware section is impressive. I bought a huge Rubbermaid pitcher for $2.49 and they have so many unique kitchen products that are hard to find elsewhere. The condiment section is also impressive, with a very nice selection of olives, sun dried tomatoes, truffled mayo and truffled hot sauce. Grocery Outlet is a VERY strange store to me. I love it because they stock so many odd and amazing products, but they don't stock a lot of standard products. The cashiers have always been wonderfully sweet and helpful. I love them! They are definitely a reason to visit this store. I paid around $120 on groceries today and I saved around $101. I believe that is true because I had about 6 large bags of groceries that I was expecting to cost over $200. read more

Went today to get a few groceries. Put them on the coveyer belt in the order I wanted them bagged {refridgerated, non-refridgerated, bread}. CHELSEA, being a seated cashier, was unable to bag my groceries as she rang them up, so just shoved them down to the end as she rang them up, so everything just got shoved into one large pile. I ended up having to bag my own groceries because she had already moved on to the next customer. read more

I love grocery outlet. We primarily eat organic whole food and with the prices of food these days that is hard on the budget. GO has amazing natural/organic choices that are at a much more reasonable price. I always hit grocery outlet before the health food store and it saves me about $75 a week in groceries. Plus the people who work here are always super nice/funny. Don't expect it to always have the same items, don't expect them to bag your groceries, and don't expect to find everything you need (because it's always changing). If you go in knowing this you will be super happy. read more

I went there yesterday and as usual greeted when I arrived. That is one thing I appreciated at the outlet store. Great prices and products and lots of room to shop. Then when I went to check out got Derek I think that was the cashiers name and he was disconnected and did not appear to want to be there. He was short and rude so I left him a tip. I hope he or the company reads these reviews as I will not return to the Bend location. read more

I have never been so impressed with a Grocery Outlet as I am with this one. First of all, it's the most organized and clean one I've ever been to. I called Blake the manager and asked if he could donate pumpkins for an assisted living facility. Right away he said yes. I was so happy that he did this and gave us like 15 pumpkins. I've talked to the owner on the phone personally and he doesn't think there's anything wrong with ignoring the mask mandate as it's " not a law, but the governor's order." Update: the owner of the store contacted me and shared his concern for my experience. I appreciate the concern and interest in addressing the problem by inviting me to give them a second chance. I was offered a gift card to compensate for the money lost in my return. Buyer Beware! Horrible return policy. Bought Norquin Canadian Quinoa and after ruining a night's dinner to a product that had major quality issues, thought I could return it and just get a credit back for my money spent. I was told that without my receipt their policy is not to do anything. No apologies. No exceptions. Know that when you buy something here you assume the risk should there be a quality issue. I spend so much money here but this has made me rethink my supporting a business that doesn't support its customers. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but I thought grocery outlet really deserves a shoutout. I have recently been shopping there every week for my groceries. Not only is it inexpensive, but you can actually find really cool organic health food products for half the price they would be at a normal grocery store. I've been blown away by the staff as well. The last three times I've been in, one of the store managers or staff has talked to me and gone out of there way to make sure I find what I'm looking for. One of the managers even gave me their business card for me to call and check for a product that was out of stock at the time. Another manager stopped to tell me about their wine selection and which one was his favorite. It was only $8 for the bottle. They may not have all the options you'll find at your average grocery store but the prices, unique finds and kind staff are hard to beat! read more

I've been to MANY grocery outlets, all over the state. This one is ok, but possibly the least satisfying. It has the most minimal 'wow factor' in regards to the deals being good deals. They don't offer punch cards either (all the rest offer one punch per$30 spent, resulting in an eventual $10 off). It has minimal produce. It's better priced than name brand stores for several things, but most likely averages out fairly even with WalMart. read more

The new one in Redmond is now much better and more like a real grocery store,more variety and products, fresher produce than the one in Bend. Grocery Outlet in Bend, Oregon is the place to go when you want to buy inexpensive and organic foods, find interesting products that are not usually anywhere else, and want a helpful staff. You are bound to have an excellent experience at this store if you extend common courtesy when asking for help, and you do not throw a tantrum about price mistakes, and expire dates. I have noticed some customers have terrible manners and mean attitudes towards these employees. Offer respect in conversation, and do not become an bratty adult, and you're likely to have a pleasant experience with this group of rockstars. The bagging here is a bit lazy and unthoughtful. While they are quick and cheerful to help, you do not get asked how you would like it, do not get all your cold together, and heavy items and cans are often with delicate produce. Just say to them "no thank you" and you should be able to bag your own- they don't usually have a problem with that, although you can see when they are annoyed. Prepared to be stared at for a few seconds beyond comfort and the occasional salty facial expressions. DO pay attention while ringing up, and check your receipt afterwards. Sometimes you may be overcharged with the wrong produce codes, or you saw two price tags together and at the check-out the result wasn't what you thought. Simple misunderstandings. They've always been cool if you just ask with kindness about any prices. You MUST now have your receipt for all returns, especially for produce, so it's optimal to check BEFORE you leave for expire dates, or accidental overcharges. You have to shop on a delivery day for the best produce. You may call them and ask what day their next produce shipment is arriving, do that, and you will get the best batches that last the longest in your fridge! Great place to spend your money if you are in need of an inexpensive, ORGANIC diet. The store is getting more and more of these choices every few weeks. Often it seems the new owners have something occurring that just makes the store that much better. read more

I always like shopping at the Grocery Outlets - one can get many things at highly reduced prices, and sometimes they are unusual items not readily found elsewhere. Of course, they don't have everything. They deal in over-runs and surplus items, though they try to keep a reasonable selection of produce, cheese, lunchmeats, frozen and canned foods, etc. stocked. If you like something and its a bargain, then stock up on it - it may not be there next time you come. Bend's Grocery Outlet is neither the largest or the smallest branch of this company. I've been in here two or three times this summer (2008) and I haven't found much that I haven't seen in other branches, and not all of that. But it's hard to judge based on just a few visits. If you live in Bend you'll find items here you won't find elsewhere, as well as those you will. Most of these will be a bargain compared to other stores. Good hunting! read more

I love this place. I'm so sick and tired of going to the big grocery stores and getting up to the register, spending 40 bucks on a single bag of groceries, swipe my club card for those "big" savings. I grab my receipt and see I saved a whopping 2 dollars. Wow... get the smelling salts! Ridiculous... They have some really cool and funky items that aren't sold in common stores or some interesting variations of common things you normally find... Most things are marked off close to 50%, as I've noticed... It's a great feeling to get up to the register at Groc-Out and see that on a $40 dollar bag of groceries at the other stores I save around $18!!! Super cool! Them are 1999 prices. I just found out about a raffle they have where you tear off the part of your reciept that says how much you saved, put your number and name on it, throw it in the box on the way out the door and if they pick your name you win the amount you saved. I love Grocery Outlet! It is quickly becoming my favorite store, especially when doing a Whole30! I always find Whole30 approved products for way less than other stores in Bend ... The 24 oz. Primal Kitchen Mayo is a killer deal! I also love when they have compliant Lara Bars. Safe Catch Salmon pouches & Poshi marinated vegetable are my current faves. They also have the best prices on avocado & olive oil. Just purchased a big bag of Bare Bones Bone Broth travel packets. They have the best price on MaraNatha almond butter ($4.99) whereas, I've seen it at other stores as high as $9.99! The Nori Seaweed Snacks are also a killer deal and when, I'm not doing the Whole30, I absolutely LOVE the seaweed chips! OMG ... so good! read more

I should have known better. I've told myself for a long time to just avoid the produce section in this store. They had some decent looking items though and I'm on a budget so I grabbed a couple of items. Two days later, the raspberries were moldy, the avocados I grabbed were totally rotten inside and the few other items I didn't beed to refrigerate had brought in a nice swarm of fruit flies. I just now called to ask a simple question about their beer and wine selection and not only was their manger extremely rude about answering the questions, he interrupted me mid-sentence and then hung up. If he can't take the time to help a customer on the phone, he shouldn't be working customer service. The best feature at GO is the Friday "5 @ 4" wine tastings with Andrew. Best deals and wine advice in town! The NOSH (natural, organic, etc) items are plentiful, but often actually priced higher than local health food stores. Great selection of cheeses, olives, oils, organic chips, moringa & spirulina smoothie powders etc. Lately they've been carrying Zuke's New Zealand grass-fed beef dog treats at a great price. The register and floor staff have all been very friendly and helpful. Steer clear of staples like sponges and Hefty trash bags - they're priced higher than local stores. Nevertheless, if you have time to peruse the isles, you will find great bargains. read more

Grocery Outlet is the "thrift store experience" of grocery shopping. You can't go with a real agenda, because you never really know what's going to be there. Go with an open mind and flexible shopping list, with the mentality of stocking up if you find something you regularly use. I'm super impressed with Grocery Outlet. I used to avoid it because it was the discount store. But I decided to give it a try and was impressed on the selection and prices. My favorite is that I can get cereal and bars and snacks that my kids love and lots of healthy options for the food I love! This is my "go-to" place for cereal, snacks, and other items that you would normally find in places like whole foods, but waaaaay cheaper. Yes, some things are on the verge of being expired, but I never ever buy anything other than dried or canned items here so dates dont phase me much. I wont ever buy anything fresh as the produce always looks old. And meats or dairy products I am too picky about to buy them here. This is an unusual grocery store. They've got a lot of overstock type goods so you find something different each time you come in. They have a great selection of reasonably priced wines here and you can sometimes find some really good wine at very low prices. It probably won't ever be you go-to grocery store but it's worth going in and looking around every once in a while. You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more
