Management was standing around talking to a customer about personal stuff while there was ONE line open with 8 people in line and 2 self check out lines open with 7 or 8 customers in each of them. By the time I got to the cashier, my frozen food was thawed out. The produce, especially the fruit is terrible quality. Many of the outdoor plants have no prices. The last few times that I purchased baked goods, they were dry and tasteless. From this day forward I will drive to a different store. This is specifically the Giant Eagle in Berea OH.

His poor butt and man hood all the way up to his belly swelled and was fire engine red. I immediately took him to the sink to wash it off. After a half hour the swelling went down and looks much better. I want to know what fragrance is added. Because that is the only thing I can think that triggered this. I was apprehensive about using it because it had a very strong smell. NOTE when the baby came back from visitation with dad, he handed her this ointment. It's not inexpensive by any means, but it is convenient and not higher than whatI'd expect from any comparable store. Having said that, it sometimes feels like they're trying to do too much. It's like they're trying to offer too much. The store often feels claustrophobic to me- with any open space shoved to the brim with merchandise. And it's not necessarily essential merchandise. For example- they have a DVD bin. Is that necessary? Also, near the produce are a few racks of clothes and dresses. Are there a bunch of locals looking to try on dresses at their local drug mart? I think space would have been better served by offering less stuff and maybe more produce. I do feel like they offer interesting food and flavors sometimes. It's interesting to see what impulse items they have on the side shelves. The workers are always very nice and personable and are a bright spot to every visit. If I were to offer a suggestion- decrease the items you offer by 15-20% to make more space in the store. Get rid of items that make the store feel dated and junkie like DVD's and weird clothes. And focus on all the other great stuff you do offer.

First, this place is very clean, and aisles are labeled very well. The employees on my visit were exceptionally polite. Prices here are reasonable in comparison to other grocers. Selection here is another story. I visit grocery stores all over the country in search of local/regional products. Though it offers Ohio-based products, Heinen's has more than its fair share of products produced my multi-national corporations. I'm totally not against that. I do, however, want to see more than a brand or two that isn't Vlasic, Oscar Meyer, or General Foods.

I would suggest management have a little sit down with employees and explain if they don't want to act friendly towards their customers, perhaps working at a neighborhood grocery store is not the job for them. One thing no business has is "too many" customers. I like to shop and support local and small businesses whenever I can, so hopefully this was just a one-off experience.
