Prices were fair and options were plentiful. Met a few friendly people on my visit and would return to this nice local store. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me was a lack of used, consignment or out of print games. I know that's a rarity so it's not a negative, just worth noting.

A friend brought his MTG cards to town and was looking for someone to play. Being an old "veteran" of sorts, I took the opportunity to play again for the first time in 10 years. The process was easy. In fact, I'm not sure if my friend even asked permission or paid a fee. We walked in and grabbed an empty table and started playing. It was a Saturday afternoon and before long the place started to fill up with people. Some guys came in with a game called Urban Insanity that they were demoing. Kind of a modern/post apocalyptic rendition of the more well known Carcassonne. We ended up jumping in on a game of that. Before I knew it I saw beers floating and passing around. There were other tables popping up with all sorts of other games going on. People setting up what was bound to be an intense game of Warhammer in the far corner. Another guy quietly painting figures with his headphones in. A great cacophony of noise from all of us playing Urban Insanity. And another amalgamation of tables near the front of the shop that was getting kicked up about some other games. It was like watching a movie and I realized this was a pretty happening, fun place. There are actually taps here - so that's where the beer was coming from. Quite the surprise to me. Lots of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from too. Magic the Gathering and other table top games go without saying, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the extensive board game collection they have available for purchase from here. I feel a draw in my soul to eventually come back for another event to highlight a new game some time in the future. Looking forward to it!

Very racist and rude people work here. My husband, a huge gamer, stopped in there today. He was…read moretaking clothes to the consignment store nearby and saw Boardwalk and was excited to check it out. He walked in and despite there being several employees there, no one acknowledged him or welcomed him in. The employees just stared at him like he was a foreign creature. While he was in the store, he heard an employee enthusiastically explaining a lot about a game to another customer. He was surprised and shocked at how knowledgeable and informative the employee seemed to be. So my husband saw some type of figure/game that he was interested in and wanted to know more about it. He went to ask an employee more details and the employee was very cold and just said "uh, I don't know". They didn't even take the time to research, ask another co-worker, or anything. They just seemed really uninterested in helping my husband. Although he was planning to buy it, he ended up just walking out because he didn't feel like he was appreciated as a customer. First time there and last time there. He had to come back to the consignment store in the plaza later in the afternoon to pick up the stuff and just looking over at Boardwalk and seeing people go in and out made him sick to his stomach. The feeling of his business and money not being good enough for them. Very sad. Will never recommend.
