Anyways, after going to various shops in Michigan getting quotes on paint, certain mods I want etc. Fantasy has done nothing but assist in every aspect and do great quality work. I'm getting ready to have my whole car repainted, add some more custom touches to it all from this shop. Guys that work here have been nothing but honest, helpful and friendly. Thanks for bearing with my preamble. We could not be happier with our experience refinishing our steel cabinets with Curt. Our kitchen has original St. Charles Kitchen cabinets. These are highly sought after, and we knew we wanted to keep them in the new version of our kitchen, but in a different color. A friend suggested powder coating and I got to work doing my research. Curt is the main choice in Detroit for having items powder coated. His website showed work he'd done big and small for cars and motorcycles... And one set of steel cabinets. I knew he was the guy for the job. He's down to earth and honest. It was always nice to chitchat a bit as we came and went from the shop. His stories of his escape artist dog never failed to get a laugh. The work itself was impeccable. Curt was upfront with us about the possibility of flaws in the paint depending on the surface he was working with, minor imperfections, you know. But nearly every piece came out looking as if it had always been the grey we had picked. We were blown away. We highly recommend Custom Concepts.

The only problem was that all of my husband's searches on various aftermarket Jeep parts websites were telling him that the factory rock rails had to be removed permanently. My JL's stock rock rails are pretty bad ass. I *really* did not want to lose them to some lousy side steps. So like the determined person I am, I scoured some online Jeep forums. One in particular led me to ACE Engineering & Fab. Of course, I went straight to their website: https://aceengineeringandfab.com/ When I saw the price tag ($535 per pair), I knew my husband would be a bit taken aback, but he came around after he did his own research. The "side steps" we bought aren't actually just that. They are "Rock Sliders." They look handmade. Stout. Solid welds. PROS (some per their website) + mostly simple bolt-on installation*** + works with or without factory "Rubi Rails" + 2" steel tubing + 0.134 wall thickness + black textured powdercoat + lifetime structural warranty + well-protected during shipping + they text you the FedEx shipment number + and... Made in the USA! CONS - It takes a while for shipping. Overall, it was a very simple task for the husband to install these rock sliders. It definitely helped to have a lever bar and an air ratchet. The only hiccup was when two of the fasteners or whatever holds the nuts in place broke off as he removed the Loctited bolts. He cussed up a storm. "But you said you wanted more time in the garage," I retorted. ;)

And when you get to this point in the fix this terrible thing is going to happen so make sure you have a what-cha-mah-jigger so you're ready." Yes. They know their stuff, but it's also really clear they honestly love what the do. Not just the grease monkey bits. They're freakishly hooked on helping and I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. Rayvon at the front desk was always so professional and friendly. No sooner after I dropped my car off they started working with my insurance directly. They got all of the supplemental repairs approved with no issues and they even offered to help get me into a rental. The communication was great with them giving me updates along the way. And the cherry on top... Very opportunistic…read more I took my car in to be serviced. I told him what the dealer had informed me and he said he would do a diagnostic. He NEVER actually did a diagnostic and just fixed what I told him they said was wrong with the car. He says that he'll fix it but he doesn't know if it'll stop the engine noise. I was told that the diagnostic would gather the information needed to make a sound decision about the repair. It was a ripoff and I'll be reporting this business to everyone that I possibly can report it to. He should have never fixed my vehicle when he knew that my car still would not function properly after the repair.He's fixed an oil leak and still charged me $90 for an oil change as if he wasn't going to have to put oil back in the vehicle after the repair. He's suppose to be mechanic and be thorough. He took advantage and then got upset when I told him that the credit card charges are too much because he's going to write those off on his taxes. DO Not patronize this business if you want someone who's honest and ethical. He also never called me back after I called with concerns about all of this!
