We originally ordered the Brooklyn and the Godfather to go, but while we were waiting the smell alone convinced us to stay, and we seriously devoured both. Easily some of the best sandwiches we've ever had. Truly felt like a slice of New York tucked right into Concord, NC. We'll definitely be back to try dessert and grab one of their pre-prepared pastas for dinner. And on your way out, don't miss the little mint patty gumball-style machine by the door. Such a nostalgic touch and honestly the cutest detail. took a photo for my momma! Highly, highly recommend.

The food here is almost better than most of the Italian spots I'm accustomed to in Brooklyn. I ordered the chicken parm hero and meatball parm hero. Both were excellent! The sauce was freshly made with simple ingredients that were clearly high quality. The bread was crispy and warm authentically Italian (covered in sesame seeds the way I love) Best of all they have a small "Mercato" with carefully selected items imported from Italy. I was surprised and excited to find some of my favorite Italian cookies, breadsticks and chocolates. They even carry Italian beverages & wine. But best of all they have several prepared frozen meals like Lasagna, eggplant Parmesan and other favorites. They also had sauces and cheeses and pasta. The pastry case was filed with Italian staples like cannolis. If you're looking for a purveyor of authentic Italian items in Concord, this is definitely the spot! They have a nice outdoor dining area and a small area inside as well.

The location is a little tucked away and easy to miss, but there is a small sign by the road that lets you know where to turn. Once I got there, the experience was wonderful from beginning to end. The woman taking the orders was very polite and welcoming. What really stood out to me, though, was the entire atmosphere. The staff genuinely gave you a family-type feel, like you had known them forever even though you just met them! The three gentlemen cooking were all so polite and inviting, and one of them even came out and talked with me for a while and took the time to get to know me a little better. That kind of hospitality is hard to find these days, and I truly appreciated it. Now, THE FOOD! I ordered a whole chicken wing dinner with cabbage and macaroni and cheese, as well as a fried flounder dinner with cabbage and yams. Everything was seasoned so well! The cabbage was TOP-TIER! Definitely one of my favorite things I ordered. The yams were also delicious--sweet, but not overly sweet. You could absolutely tell they were homemade yams, and that matters! So many restaurants try to doctor up canned yams and call them candied yams, but they just do not taste the same. These tasted homemade and were delicious. Both the fried chicken and fried flounder were cooked perfectly--crispy, flavorful, and seasoned well. The cornbread that came with both meals was also sweet, soft, and moist, just the way I like it. The macaroni and cheese was good, although it wasn't my favorite thing on the plate. But I would absolutely try it again because it could have simply been an off batch. And honestly, with how good everything else was, the macaroni and cheese was the least of my worries! Between the delicious food and the genuine hospitality, Southern Prime Smokehouse made a great first impression. It felt less like I was walking into a restaurant for the first time and more like I was stopping by somebody's family cookout. They will definitely see me again!

Wow! The reviews…read moremade me do it and I'm so glad I did! We stopped in during the FIFA championship game and had the most delicious Smashburger and fries while watching Spain win! Inside the building you order at the counter for any of the restaurants advertised on the exterior of the building which includes this one. In contrast to other reviews, yes, there are drinks on site available. It's just a separate order. Beers, sodas, water, etc., all available. The burger? We both got the Slowpoke smashee. Double burger with cheese and the slightly perfectly crunchy edges of beef, pickles that zing, a sauce that just makes it all MELT in your mouth, and the fries which are literally the PERFECT crisp! On man! They are seasoned well, and fried perfectly. The burger was a bit greasy as expected and the perfect blend of seasoned beef, toasted brioche bun, sautéed onions that are delicious and perfectly sautéed, and that melted real cheese and sauce. It was so good my boyfriend ate his and ordered another one of course he had a stomach ache after, but yes, he devoured two doubles. It was that tasty. My pictures do it absolutely no justice because we dove in before I took them so they look a mess. It came looking much better than these photos of burgers we had already tore into from the excitement from reading the reviews. Service was great at the counter. Friendly. Your food gets brought out to you. The seating area is comfortable and casual and even includes some couches and several TVs. Perfect place to watch the game.

It was too hot to sit outside so we got it to go. We ordered online so all I had to do as pick it up. I ordered the single smash burger on a buttery brioche bun ($7.00), and it was a solid burger--simple, flavorful, and satisfying. The fries were definitely a highlight! They were crispy, well-seasoned, and very good. Other burgers were 2 times the single smash burger. If you're in the Concord area and looking for a casual spot for a smash burger and fries, For Crying Out Loud is worth checking out.
