Situated opposite the Bolton St DIT, Dublin City Comics has a nice, not overly-stocked ground floor shop area, with comics, trade paperbacks, graphic novels, models, t-shirts and so on. The comics are sold at dollar prices so this can be a good savings on the prices you'll pay in other comic outlets. Downstairs is a large room with a flatscreen TV, an area for assembling models. comfy sofas, a computer, and inexplicably, a baby pen complete with multicoloured balls. Christy and Doc, the owners, intend to turn this into a GeekEasy, a nerdclub for movie watching and so on which will have a membership fee (to be confirmed) as five euro to start, then ten euro a month. So, more than your average neighbourhood comic shop! I'll be back.

Named after republican James Connelly, this book has cool texts on decolonization, racism, Irish history, and more.Their selection is well curated and great for leftists and history buffs. Everyone in the store while my partner and I were there were speaking Irish and it was exciting to be in the presence of folks speaking their native fanily language. Definitely check it out.

I then noticed a particular game which have been mulling over buying, Pandemic Legacy. Here they are selling it for 85 EUR. In a gaming shop around the corner it's 69 EUR. An Irish based gaming website is selling it for 60 EUR. It's madness pricing like this. If Gamers World wasn't around the corner and Sub City was priced more in line with online prices, I would shop here. Spend a little bit more to shop local. But 25 EUR more? Go way outta that. Needless to say Sub City was empty and Gamers World was jammers. It's presented well inside.
