Opened in Fall 2021, Elder Love is a little hole in the wall with super friendly staff, an awesome playlist, and (as it's street name would suggest) an eclectic mix of vintage and current brands. The assortment of clothes was small as of November 2021. But it was a nice mix of vintage designer and cool trendy styles, for both men and women. For such a small space, it also packs in a wonderful assortment of pictures and artwork, furniture, and dish-ware. It's location is also ideal for a multi-store trip. You can hit Elder Love, Collector's Corner, Goodwill, and the ACS Discovery Store in rapid succession since they are all 5 mins away or less from each other. Flash 50% sales in Mondays. BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER!…read more My husband and I dreamed of a wedding where everyone could stay together onsite, immersed in nature, with no worries about driving after a night of fun, and Camp Osito Rancho made that dream a reality. Our families stayed in the health center, lodge, and electrified cabins, while our friends embraced the adventure of summer cabins and tents. The venue offers so many stunning spaces, from the spacious dining hall for meals to the stage/amphitheater with fire pits--perfect for s'mores and late-night stories. We exchanged vows at the top of a hill near the outdoor pavilion, with a gorgeous backdrop of pine trees and a view of Big Bear Lake in the distance. We were able to offer our guests camp activities like archery and a pool day, as well as had room to setup other activities like craft tables and lawn games. The biggest perk was the complete freedom to choose our own vendors, allowing us to create a truly personalized experience (huge shoutout to Scratch Kitchen for catering--our guests still rave about the food). We spent a year making signs, collecting décor, buying solar lights, and crafting to transform this Girl Scout camp into a full-blown wedding festival. If you're up for planning the details, this venue is the ultimate blank canvas. Last but not least, the Camp Osito Rancho team is absolutely amazing. It's important for the integrity of the program and the safety and well-being of clients to address these matters. During my time at the shelter, the Director was rarely present. When she did come in, her behavior was deeply unprofessional and concerning. On multiple occasions, she: * Spoke negatively about other staff members and shared personal problems inappropriately with residents. * Appeared to be under the influence. * She had a male visitor in her office for extended periods, and the door was closed. * Spoke to residents in an unprofessional and inappropriate manner, using street slang and disrespectful language that made many of us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. This kind of behavior is not reflective of the trauma-informed, respectful, and supportive environment that domestic violence survivors need. I am disappointed and hope this feedback will be taken seriously to improve the experience for future residents. Thank you for your time and for the work you do to support survivors.
