Came earlier on Sunday and got to experience Cosmic Bowling!!! And they had a special: $45 to rent the lane for an hour with up to 6people bowling (shoes not included). This is a fantastic deal and we enjoy family time bowling and eating their FANTASTIC snack bar food, like chili cheese fries, breaded wings (the best), nachos and hot dog & fries for the teen. Rim Bowling is an absolute hidden gem that when people visiting the mountains took more advantage of. $8 games and $4 shoe rental is an absolute bargain compared to Bowlero or even Big Bear Bowling which charge by the hour. Because it's by the game, you can take your time and enjoy some food or drinks without feeling rushed. What has improved as well are the hours. Before, it was only open Thursday - Sunday with leagues on Thursday, which would only give three days for public bowling. Now, it's open every day except Tuesday starting at noon. I also enjoy the old school feel that has kept a charm without the needing for fancy lights, sounds, etc. read more

If I could give one star, I would. I have been going to the bowling alley since I was a baby. My family grew up here.. we had most of our childhood birthday parties here. I had family here from out of state.. it was my 40th birthday party.. something I had looked forward to, for a long time. My husband booked a birthday party for me, my friends and their kids. We love the pizza there.. so we were confused as to why they had asked how many pizzas we wanted for the party, but ordered a few extra (and paid for them) just to be safe. When we arrived, we were asked if the Dominos pizzas were for us.. we said no.. that we had ordered pizza at the bowling alley. We were then confronted by the owner.. saying "yes you did order these! They are for your party!" We were confused, so asked to speak further. He said that they had made a deal with Dominos, so had shut down the pizza place. Understandable, but to charge us an insane amount of money for $5.99 pizzas, is insane. If they had told us this info, we would have eaten before hand, or just ordered from the snack bar. When we had asked the owner about it, he said "you mountain people will never like change! This is why you aren't my customers!" Ummmm EXCUSE YOU?! I don't care that you bought it almost a year ago (at that point) money is tight.. we had decided to spend our hard earned money on this. For a SPECIAL birthday.. and honestly, you ruined it.. by saying "I'll just cancel your party, it's fine, you mountain people don't matter to me!" When I had 8 KIDS waiting to bowl. You should be ashamed. Also, when my friend's child had spilled her drink, the worker was extremely rude to A 7 YEAR OLD. Made my daughter and her best friend cry. I see that this place is under new ownership. This is just a friendly review of constructive criticism. Please as a small community keep this place true to its original retro vibe and charm. That means playing oldies and keeping the original staff and aesthetics. The staff are the face of the place. It's comforting and welcoming to see the same girls. We know them and love them. Especially Kandice!!! Happy to see the addition of cosmic bowling, but I was not happy hearing the song from Wicked and the music of Camila Cabello. I want to hear the music from the 70s and 80s that they usually play. I don't want to hear what I hear everyday at work. I live in Redlands and was saddened to see Empire Bowl's remodel and how cold and unfeeling it and the staff now are. It has lost its decades of cultivated charm. The fact that this lovely town has a bowling alley is just plain cool. The place was clean enough, a couple of arcade games were in disrepair, but overall if you're coming to bowl, there are no complaints to be had. Cheese pizza was good and large enough to feed the five of us. I will definitely be returning each time I am in Crestline! read more

Ok, first I want to say that this is a great place, and the food is really good for a bowling alley. It was a friend's birthday and we all had a great time. BUT, I cannot f*cking believe how rude, impatient, and full of hostility the manager was. I never leave yelp reviews but this woman was so god damn mean I had to say something. I understand we had a large group, and it took us a few minutes to get situated and figure out who was paying for the games- but absolutely nothing warranted this type of behavior- from a manager, nonetheless. I didn't ask for her name because honestly, I was a bit scared of her response with the way she was already acting. She was a woman with curly naturally red hair, and this happened on April 12th. She was so unnecessarily short tempered. You are literally a manager at a bowling alley!! relax !! when we went to buy shoes she completely snapped at us. And our lane was having issues , which isn't our fault, and having to ask her for assistance was daunting. Everybody in our party noticed her being nasty. My extremely composed and respectful friend had to ask for another person to assist us because truthfully this woman was getting too out of line. Cool little bowling alley. I'm not giving it 5 stars for a high end or high tech, it's just such a quaint place. They only have 16 lanes but completely equipped with two different food sources (not saying restaurants) there's a Subway and a separate pizza place; Guiseppe's Pizza. They have a full bar and video games. Been here a couple of times, everyone is very cool and the lanes do in fact have updated scoring with pop up pointers after each roll telling you where to place your ball to get the ultimate pin knock down. read more

I'm not sure when the last time the county or sanitation department was here but the lady cooking the pizzas, wings, fries and all of that was handling cash and touching the food without washing her hands or wearing gloves the whole night. It's about 15 mins driving from our cabin. $3.50 per game before 4 pm. So it's $10 per person for 2 games plus shoes rental which is pretty good price. The place is kind of small but clean. People here are very friendly. We'll come back. read more

I took my family there for bowling.. They had a bowling special with pizza and soda.. The place needs to be updated some.. Still looks the way it did when I grew up in Crestline in the 90's... They did have computerized lanes and television screens.. I found it very difficult to use a house ball for my young kids and the rest of my family. The house balls are not marked for weight or sectioned off by weight.. Which was quite challenging when you are paying by the hour.. Spent 15 minutes looking for a ball... Maybe look for them before you start.. Also... They only have a few small balls for young kids.. Which is difficult if there are already one's bowling. 5 stars .. We had an 80th birthday party here and couldn't be happier. We used the banquet room upstairs and were allowed to decorate it as we wished. It was a 50's Sock Hop and it easily held 45 people. We also had use of 4 lanes downstairs, with beer and wine. Everything was perfect. The staff did an exceptional job of getting us what we needed and accommodate all wishes. We had chili dogs, pizza, chips, soda etc.... I found the pizza surprisingly good and hot. I highly recommend this spot for functions of say 15 people or more. The banquet room upstairs is private, and quiet. And the price was very fair. Thanks everyone. We stayed in our friend cabin in lake Arrowhead for a week and decided to come down the mountain to bowl. The place is outdated and needs lots of work but I give it a 5 star because of the experience. The staff is super friendly, the prices are very fair and most of their balls aren't scratch or dented If you're looking to do something indoors with friends or family, this bowling place is a nice place to visit. After having a bad experience with Victor Bowl, we drove the 50 minutes of winding mountain roads to get to Rim Bowling. We're happy we drove made the trip just to bowl a couple games. The facility and extent of activity isn't expansive, but for a small community, it fits the bill. You have a choice of food with Subway and Pizza. I tried the wings, which I usually don't try and thought they were good. Facility and bathrooms were reasonably clean. Bowled 2 games without any technical issues only our hooking gutter balls. They have a bar too with a few beers on tap and an area for watching the game. With the lake nearby, mountain air and quaint shopping you could add this place to a nice day out. read more
