We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor water slides, something you won't find hardly ever. We played putt putt golf after. The entire perimeter of the property is dedicated to fun activities for kids. You can tell it is family owned and they take pride in it. From the fully stocked pool towels, the spotless rooms, the clean fresh scent everywhere, and the well maintained facilities and amenities - nothing here has been allowed to slide. Everything is open longer than other hotels, the service is fast and friendly, outside is well lit and spotless. Chain hotels around here charge more, and offer much less. I highly recommend!

The lumpy carpet desperately needs to be replaced or stretched in the hallways, the exterior needs to be washed down and de-spiderwebbed (maybe toss on some paint too?), they need more help at the front desk during the busy times, and I could go on. We were in the main part of the lodge this time. People were constantly lingering on the stairs. The door to our suite didn't even feel secure or safe, it jiggled on the hinges even when locked and bolted. We could hear every single noise coming from the hallway at all hours of the night. The lodge has SO MUCH POTENTIAL and incredible views, but it is straight-up out of the 70s/80s and not in a fun or nostalgic way. The bed was comfy, I will give them that. And there is a lot of stuff to do around the lodge campus; pools, spa, golf, restaurants, live music, and movies. We didn't partake because we honestly didn't expect much. So, it may be surprisingly glorious... but we didn't take a chance. We checked out 2 nights early from our weeks stay. Because we paid in advance, we did not get any sort of refund. I guess this is okay, we just went to stay with family, so it was all good. We had so totally hoped for a better experience. Sadly, we had a worse one. Please fix this place up! It could be magical if given the right ingredients and love.

The older lady was rude and continued to state I booked 2. Another young lady came over and stated it was an on line glitch and cancelled the second room but the Manager Mel would only refund me half of the room fee for a second room I never booked. Now I have to dispute the charge. Don't book on line. The room stunk, the door doesn't seal when fully shut. You can hear everyone around you because it's poorly insulated and just a dirty property. I would never stay again, very disappointing for the 1st time at Lake of the Ozarks.

The hotel sent up maintenance with a can of something and he sprayed the door. After he left the wasp came back. They moved us to another room. This balcony also had a wasp. The walls of the room are shockingly thin. There are a lot of children at tbe hotel and next door to us was a little boy, maybe 5, with his parents. They were very loud. We heard sounds, screams we should never hear in a $350+ room. Also there's problems with the air conditioning. It turns on or off and u can keep it at 67 degrees for the air or it switches to heat! The TV doesn't change channels and the volume is preset.

By the grace of God, I found a spot and luggage all of my luggage up the hill by myself sweating all the way. Arrived in the lobby to be greeted with no air air-conditioning and a 45 minute wait in the lobby to check in. I have waited in more enjoyable lines in Disney and Silver Dollar City. The only positive part was getting to know other people in line as we all remarked at what a disaster the situation was. It was a bit of a trauma bond situation as we exchanged parking trauma, as well as our current predicament, waiting forever to get to the front of the check-in line. I finally got to the front of the line only to be told that my credit card on file could not be charged and I needed another credit card in order to get my room key. Deep breath. I really needed a change in latitude and a change in attitude right about then as well as a stiff margarita. I was advised by the front door clerk that a gentleman was going to take me to my room after the check-in process. This was a bit misleading because all the check-in clerk did was hand me off to another rep for Margaritaville that simply drew on a map instructions on how to get to my room. There are many buildings and very odd ways of getting places that are quite confusing. They had moved our welcome reception to the JB deck, which was a bit difficult to get to, but I was able to run into a very helpful employee that took pity on me as I loved my luggage even further to another destination. I was told the next morning the coffee line was an hour long and people didn't know which was worse their wait for the coffee in the morning or their weight in the lobby the day before with no air-conditioning. The rooms were quite nice. I did like the large beds and the living room. The convention food was also well done as well as the amenities, including the shopping in the bowling on property. Adding stuff would have alleviated many of the issues that I experienced at this property and I am positive that they would be able to turn around most of their issues by just hiring more employees.

I must say, the final product is quite a beauty! Check-in was a little challenging because of misinformation, but that was the only bump in the road. My room was extremely spacious and clean. (Minus a little stain on the shower curtain). The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job preparing the room. (The water gets nice and hot, and there are a couple of settings on the shower head.) I was here for a conference, so I was all over the building! Some of the rooms were a little chilly, so make sure you have a light jacket on hand! The conference center was extremely accessible, as there was a skywalk to get from my room to the main building. I had three meals provided by the hotel (there are other eateries inside), and they were all delicious, and versatile. The hotel has a little snack shop that I purchased an ice cream cone from, it was a nice treat that I didn't know I needed. All in all, the facility was extremely clean, and most of the staff will speak in passing. -- I hope to come back to Margaritaville when it is warmer so I can take advantage of the beautiful lake, and other outdoor activities on the grounds. --Parking is kinda spread out, but there's plenty. No offer to change rooms but we later learned EVERYONE on the bottom floor had a room that smelled like pure mildew.
