It appears the owners have a vision for this place to be a family focused stop with ample fun activities. They absolutely succeeded. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor water slides, something you won't find hardly ever. We played putt putt golf after. The entire perimeter of the property is dedicated to fun activities for kids. You can tell it is family owned and they take pride in it. From the fully stocked pool towels, the spotless rooms, the clean fresh scent everywhere, and the well maintained facilities and amenities - nothing here has been allowed to slide. Everything is open longer than other hotels, the service is fast and friendly, outside is well lit and spotless. Chain hotels around here charge more, and offer much less. My friends and I were at the Lake of the Ozarks over Veterans Day weekend, and we chose the Lake House Hotel for our lodging. We had a very nice time. A special shout-out to all the staff, especially Gena and Mary Jo at the front desk; everyone was SO friendly and accommodating, from reservations to hosting us in the breakfast room to answering questions to checkout; they definitely are dedicated to hospitality! The Lake House is a family-friendly hotel; all the rooms are the same, with either a king bed or two queens, and have the option to adjoin with a neighboring room. There are outdoor games, like miniature golf, bean-bag toss, and little animals on springs; because of the cold weather, we couldn't take advantage of any of them. They have an indoor pool with water slide as well as an outdoor one, and two jacuzzi tubs indoors, which we took advantage of after a day out in the cold. We were able to have a first-floor room facing the woods (rather than one facing the parking lot), which was nice. Our room was clean and had space for two queen-size beds, a table and chairs, a bureau with TV, and a nook with a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. A difficulty we encountered was the thinness of the walls and ceilings. Although the hotel wasn't full to capacity, we could hear everything as people talked in the halls or as they moved around in the room above us. The beds were comfortable, but the noise level occasionally made it difficult to sleep. For breakfast, they have most of the usual full breakfast options, including coffee, juices, milk, make-your-own waffles, cereals, sausage and eggs, and biscuits and gravy. Unfortunately, they didn't have any fruit, and one of the days their oatmeal machine wasn't working. But the offerings are plentiful, and we were able to start each day fortified with a good meal. I think if I were traveling with younger kids, this would be an ideal place to spend a weekend. And the staff is wonderful! Thanks for such a nice stay! read more

Fabulous hotel and very affordable. The rooms are immaculately clean and the whole place smells good when you first walk in. Crooms have air conditioning and a dehumidifier which is a nice bonus. Extraordinarily pet friendly! They have a picnic area at the back of the building with complimentary poop bags. A wrap around playground for kids of every age keeps the little ones busy. Also has an indoor pool with water slide that is a lot of fun. they use some kind of salt water and chlorine system to keep the pool water crystal clean and I swear it made my skin super soft. If you are on a keto diet or diabetic their breakfast is amazing, even with the covid crazy. three different kinds of egg dishes, two different kinds of sausage, and cheese make for a hardy breakfast. Honestly, I've driven past the sign for the Lake House Hotel and without actually seeing it, I didn't really pay attention to it. It was only because of a quick trip before school started for my daughter, that we were looking for a place to "just sleep." Other reviews spoke about how this was a "clean" hotel and that was enough for me to give it a try. The price was much more reasonable than the "chain" hotels in the area. And the photos showed a pool and a slide. Something my 13 year old daughter really needs when we stay in a hotel. We spent two nights there and the first evening and the ENTIRE next day was spent in the pool and water slides. My daughter LOVED the place! We ended up not doing the other touristy things that we drove to the Lake of the Ozarks for. If you have young or early teen children, I think that you need to give this place a chance. They have shuffleboard, swings, a basketball hoop and other playground activities, the place is very well lighted and while we didn't bring our dogs, the hotel is pet friendly. And what was kind of cool was that the owners live at the hotel. They were always watering plants, doing laundry... And were just were involved. Unlike a lot of the place where they employ a person to just sit in the office and take money. The rooms have a small refrigerator, microwave and desk. The only oddity was that the toilet was in the room with the shower/tub and the sink was outside of that room. It's not a bad thing at all but just, different. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. There's no view but, of the parking lot. And if I was to give the place any negative mark, it would be that the cars are parked right next to the building, only a few feet away. It really didn't matter since we weren't in the room all that often. Honestly, I was completely surprised by the place. For all that the owners have done to the place to make it family friendly, you owe it to yourself to at least give it a look. I'm positive that when we come back, we'll end up back in that hotel. :) read more

My daughter and I stayed here one night on Oct 27, 2017. We really enjoyed the hospitality of the Lake House. Privately owned and operated by an incredibly nice couple who provide just the right amount of homey touches to make you feel welcomed. There are lots of things to do for kids at the hotel including indoor/outdoor pool and water slides, small mini golf course, shuffleboard and playground. Everything is clean, well kept and carefully maintained. They also provide breakfast in the morning with a wide range of choices that are different from other places Ive seen. The rooms are basic but do include a mini fridge and microwave, coffee maker and hairdryer. They are clean and fresh. There was plenty of room for the two of us. Prior to our staying here we had searched other accommodations in the area. Everything was horribly overpriced, even the chain hotels like Holiday Inn etc. The Lake House Hotel was recommended by a friend. We were reluctant since it was an older hotel, but made reservations for two nights because it was cheaper than the other hotels for just one night. Fast forward to our arrival. We were pleasantly surprised. The owner Mary Jo met us upon check in. She was extremely helpful explaining the area and some things to do. The lobby was clean and welcoming. Upon reaching our room, we were pleased with how clean and welcoming it was. Although it's an older hotel, the owners do a great job of of keeping it clean and friendly. Highly recommend you stay here if you visit The Lake. We arrived early and was allowed to go ahead and check in. That was very much appreciated after a long drive. While checking in my daughter was babbling about Pokemon, her obsession. We dropped things off in our room and as we went to leave to look around the gentleman that checked us in said to her "I heard you talking about Pokemon" and gave her some kind of a Pokemon book. We were in the area, buying a condo and this hotel was recommended to us by our realtor. The most important thing to our traveling teens is a pool. This indoor pool was awesome and they had so much fun on the water slide. The outdoor pool and slide looked like it would be fun in warm weather. Breakfast is included and was not a basic continental. It had plenty of options and everyone was happy. There is a putt-putt course, basketball court and large playground onsite. Everything I could possibly want in a hotel. I travel to the Ozarks for a family reunions and found this hotel to be extremely pleasing. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. The owners are on site almost every day and are friendly. Even after missing a room service cleaning one afternoon we decided to nap in, they came back in the evening while we were at dinner and cleaned our room. I traveled with just the girlfriend and I but this place would be exceptional for entire families as they have indoor and outdoor pools mini golf shuffleboard water slides integrate free breakfast in the morning. If I am ever in the Ozarks again I will definitely try to stay here. read more

Our go to hotel for the ozarks. Very nice rooms, awesome beds and yummy breakfast with pancakes, eggs, sausage and biscuits n gravy to name a few. The owner Mary Jo, her husband and son all rock with hospitality. You feel as part of their family and not a guest at the hotel. Plus the price for us with 2 kids is great. In the summer the outdoor pool/water slide and jumpy house are perfect entertainment for the kids and in a fenced in area so it's easy to keep an eye on them. We stopped here on the way to a family event in Kansas and we spent the night here for my sons birthday so we wouldn't be traveling on his birthday and spending all day in the car and they were awesome. They whipped up a breakfast birthday pancake (whipped cream and gummy lifesavers with a candle on top) and my son thought it was the coolest thing. They even found a small toy present to give him. First time staying here. We were just looking for a one night stay before hooking up with family for the weekend. We found a gem! Extremely clean. Owners are amazing. Genuinely friendly and make you feel like you truly are a guest at their home and not just a customer. The indoor pool was great with a neat little slide that even I couldn't stop going down. The outdoor pool and slide looked equally as fun (and clean) but it being Memorial Day weekend water is still a bit chilly. Breakfast had a ton of options for everyone and is included with your stay.
