He loves the chef prepared meals, companionship and activities that keep him vital. His assisted living apartment is spacious with 10' high ceilings, has a full size kitchen and refrigerator along with pretty granite countertops that is the same size as independent living apartments w/o the dishwasher or range. The larger kitchen space makes it feel more like a home and you can with plenty of counter space for a coffee pot, toaster oven etc. From his apartment my Dad loves seeing who's coming and going throughout the day and the beautiful evening sunsets. There's enough room for a full size sofa and recliner along with barstools at the bar...plenty of space for a family gathering. The bedroom easily fits a queen size bed and the built in washer and dryer are super convenient even though they will clean and do laundry regularly as you wish. The lobby is quite grand and opens to the second story balcony, there are four large chairs grouped around a fireplace where residents enjoy sitting, visiting, and greeting throughout the day. The whole building is state of the art and professionally decorated. The dining room is beautiful, the bistro has quartz countertops and is open and bright. The sizable bar area has sliding glass doors that open to a large covered patio overlooking green space that serves as a small putting green or game of croquet AND a fire pit! In another area, there is a large open air atrium with a beautiful water fountain with comfy chairs to relax and enjoy. They have happy hour every Friday before dinner, games and activities are planned throughout the day, movie night is every night at 6:30, my Dad's favorite activity is the acrylic painting class held weekly by an award wining teacher, Debbie Gaedke. They bring in entertainment regularly and use any excuse to have a party. 2019 we had our Christmas dinner at The Grove and it felt like the old days when we had our own large family gatherings. We always look forward to meals by Chef Dean. There's a small dog park that is a fenced in area w/o much for the dogs to do, I would love to see a couple of trees and/or shrubs planted to give the dogs a place to do their business in private or sniff around. There is a bench but during the summer it's too hot without a cover. That said, we are VERY happy they allow dogs!! Thinking of moving to the Grove? Tell them if my review helped, I love sending people their way as they are the best act in town. I have to add that the administrator has been there almost since they opened their doors and takes the time to touch base with family's and get to know her residents. We appreciate Crystal!

And during the final year (first in assisted living and then memory care) the staff consistently went far above any basic requirements of their jobs. They greatly exceeded my expectations! I only live a mile from there, was in the facility several times each week, and had ample opportunity to see these people at work. ALL of them were outstanding! In particular, I give special thanks to Director of Nursing Asya Williams and Director of Memory Care Danielle Cooper and to their teams for all they did, especially as failing health made Ede's life more challenging. When the time comes, I hope I can live in a place as nice as this. I commend them, and I recommend them. Prospective residents will have a hard time finding anything better in this very competitive market.

Each Villa is well designed and so easy to navigate for the elders - no stairs or elevators - and when the come out of their rooms, there is a living and dining area easily accessible. This is so valuable for elders with dementia. This thing that makes it most special is the love, care and attention the elders receive from the owner, Pete, the director, Bobbie, and all the other staff members. My uncle was well-loved and cared for 3 1/2 years.

Being a caregiver, leader or nurse requires you to establish a rapport and level of care with your residents, and Mrs. Christie and her morning shift has done just that. Our mother fell and it was discovered a week later that she had an infected sore on her knee from the fall. The nurse didn't discover it after the fall happened and it became infected. (It should have been treated with wound care.) Then she developed cellulitis. The doctor discovered the infection and moved her to The Health Center. The care here was mediocre. Her knee got a lot better. We felt she was ready to move back to her apartment, but for some reason (Medicare?) they kept her there? On day 11 she died. She was of sound mind and high functioning. Because of all this stemming from an infected knee and leg. Someone is guilty of neglect. Don't assume someone is watching or checking on your parent. My brother and I spent a lot of time with our mother. We appeared to be pretty active in our mother's life as I never saw any other visitors in the assisted living facility. 2022: Our mother moved into assisted living in March 2022. We have taken her off campus for various family trips (approx 5). Each trip we have either been given too few of her medicines, not all of her meds, etc causing us to scramble around to call Westminster Oaks, finding a local pharmacy, and picking up needed meds on our trip. This has truly put a damper on our travels...canceling activites, stressed out (due to someone's oversight), worry about meds mom is missing due to carelessness, time spent calling and getting medicines when on our vacation, etc. After each trip we have brought this to the nursing staffs attention through phone calls and e mails just to be reassured it wouldn't happen again. This is really concerned my siblings and I. We have to wonder what she is missing daily at WO. Mom is paying A LOT to live there. Mistakes like this are unacceptable!

Here's what it's like when you live here for a day, a month, or a year. You'll share the house with up to 8-10 other families, one per room, depending on how many families are in need at the time. You'll find company when you want it and you'll be left alone when you want it. The kitchen will have stoves and microwaves and sinks and dishwashers, and you'll find a refrigerator full of food. You're welcome to help yourself; you have other things to worry about today. Local churches and charities have stocked it with labeled and dated casseroles, baked goods, etc. You'll start the day with doing the chore assigned to the room you're staying in. It won't take too long, and as long as you get it done by noon it's all good. After all, there's no maid here and you're only paying $10 a night. If that's too much for your family to afford, you can pick an extra chore and do that instead of paying anything. When you want a drink, you can pick from Keurig single-serve coffee and tea pods for free, and if you prefer a Coke product, the vending machine will only charge you a quarter. But you'll need to keep that in the kitchen, please, to keep the house clean. And if you're in need of stronger drink, there are restaurants not too far away -- but the House that Love Built is a dry house. And when you leave the Ronald McDonald house, you'll never go through a McDonald's drive-through without dropping in what you can for the next family in need.

I appreciate everything about my treatments here, including the office environment and greeter as well as Vanessa who checks patients in and more. I really love my oncologist, Dr. Morris. He is incredibly savvy and kind. All the nurses are wonderful as well. I previously got treatment at the Mayo Clinic and I love my experience at TMH Cancer Center.

We have been through some scary times with our treatment and I am grateful for Dr Marina who really seems to know what he is doing and for Dr Russell who has the best bedside manner of any doctor ever. The issue is the complete chaos that the offices are running in. It seems organized, but after many visits I can attest that it is not. We have had our orders misplaced numerous times and I have to remind the staff we are still waiting. if you have to call the doctor or to speak to a nurse, I wish you luck. I have attempted phone calls so many times and it is a full time job to first - get someone to answer. They don't. 2nd, if you leave a message about 50% of the time the messages will be delivered to a department in a completely different building/department/medical area or administration! I've been called back by digestive disease, maintenance, different doctor offices that aren't even in the cancer area..just to name a few. What is really bad about that is they tell you they will return your call in 24 hours- so if someone calls you back after waiting a day- you start the clock all over when you try again. There have been times that I have played the phone game for whole weeks. It is very frustrating and when you are dealing with such a serious diagnosis, that experience doesn't help. I feel like they are sorely understaffed. And I hope it isn't because they are trying to keep to a budget because after looking at the amount of money my insurance is paying for our treatment, I know they can afford a few more people to help!! I want to share this experience because there is an option in Tallahassee and I am wondering what our treatment days would be like if we had chose the other provider. I do want to give a shout out to the infusion center side. They must see hundreds of patients a day and do seem like a well oiled machine. However, they have had bad days too. Our meds always have to be prepared after we are in the seat and they have cleared us for treatment which means we have to wait for the pharmacy to make it. Some days this takes 30 minutes. That's how long it should take. So when we have to wait for two hours I know something is wrong and have to start asking. My advice, don't be afraid to ask if they now you're still waiting. They are busy and may not realize it. If you find yourself in the situation where you are looking at options for treatment, my best wishes to you and your family!!
