We grabbed a booth (you can seat yourself when you go in). Make sure you go in through the ENTER door. We started with waters while we looked over the menu. The waters were 32 oz to go cups! It's been 10 days since our visit and I think I'm still sipping on that water. It was a LOT of water. Our order consisted of a two hot dogs, onion rings, milkshakes, and a hot caramel cake. The hot dogs were good. Not great, but good. The onion rings were very nearly burnt. Probably just a touch too crispy. The milkshakes were ok. But one thing moved this review from a 3 to 4 star: the hot caramel cake. Holy cow. I know it was relatively simple but the yellow cake cupcake, in a bowl filled to the brim with hot caramel sauce, and a tower of vanilla soft serve....YUM! I'd come back here just for that. The service was hit or miss depending on who stopped by the table. All in all, I'd return but I'd try a burger and get a hot caramel cake AND a hot fudge cake.

My dad and husband both ordered the "Hungry Man" breakfast platter ($9), and my mom and I both ordered the Two Egg breakfasts ($8), plus we all got coffee. For my plate, I got eggs scrambled with cheese, plus bacon and the gravy biscuits. Mom got hers with scrambled eggs (no cheese), and the same sides. My hubs got sausage (theirs are patties), gravy biscuits, two eggs over-medium and grits. My dad got bacon, grits, eggs over-hard, house potatoes with onions and a side of grits. The food was fresh and filling, and quite tasty. The biscuits - which were the one thing we all wanted - were fluffy and smothered in their southern gravy, which was more savory than I expected...if that makes sense. We all really liked the flavor. The final bill, after taxes and tips, was just under $40, for all four of us. Not a bad deal for a quick and tasty meal.

It came with a fresh side salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing. The Chicago style Italian Beef sandwich was on a fresh soft substantial bun and came with mozzarella cheese and a great dipping sauce. Very good. The owner's wife said everything was fresh made when ordered, chicken handcut, burgers hand patted, and only the fries were frozen. This little family friendly spot seemed to be a stop for workers in the area looking for a good meal at a good price. If you are in the area it is worth stopping by. I'll give it 5 stars because it does a great job of being that local diner.
