First off...the bartender, Emily, was great! 2 of us sat at the bar and ordered a couple of 25 oz beers then ordered some food. I got 6 garlic parm wings which were decent. Also 4 sides. Coleslaw (good) baked beans good but warm, not hot) green beans (same thing and a baked potato (probably should have been baked for another hour. My friend got 1/2 slab of ribs. These were awful. Tough, stringy and they didn't taste good at all. Emily gave us a $10 credit and the kitchen took them off the menu for the night. One worker commented something to the effect that they weren't their regular ribs. Possible whoever does the food inventory decided to try a cheaper alternative and that was a huge mistake. The service was excellent and the environment was very comfortable. We came to the Old Crow Tavern after visiting Bay's Park. My spouse loved the beer he had two glasses. We shared an order of deviled eggs with bacon and bologna bites with sweet sauce and side of mustard. My spouse was in the mood for a burger and selected the classic with cheese and bacon. Next time he would add onions. I had the brisket platter (3 large slices), side of homemade chips and apples (apples are canned). I would have like fresh cooked apples. The food was delicious. Second time in and was not disappointed with our options. Even for a larger group with children, and the fact they ran out of brisket this visit, the staff, the environment and food was enjoyable. Music was a tad bit on the loud side, it was hard to hear our waitress and her hear some of us ordering but, no real complaints as they played Metallica, Queen, and several other greats on the playlist. The place crowded up easily by 6:30 but everyone nearby seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Our table all had the same remarks, "food was surprisingly GOOD" and they'd "come back again". Our server, Savannah, took wonderful care of us. I've never had anything but excellent service here. Sliced Turkey dinner was excellent. The menu says it comes with Texas Toast (hard pass) but they have switched to corned bread drizzled with honey (delicious!). The homemade chips are wonderful and the slaw is equally wonderful. My wife got the pulled chicken, which is really good, and the same sides. This is our second time here, in one week, and it is the best smoked food in Tri Cities. Each time I leave I plan my next visit. It is a noisy place, no issues, with many TVs playing sports (perfect call!) so this fits my style perfectly. read more

I visited here around 4pm on a weekday and the restaurant did not have many customers. However as time went by the older crowd came in for an early dinner. My colleague and I were still eating lunch though. I tried the 2 meat platter with brisket and sausage. The sausage was like Eckrich, even though the waitress said its homemade. I asked if it was beef or pork and she just nodded her head yes. I guess I should have known at that point. Brisket was mostly dry as a bone. The baked beans were ok and the Mac n cheese was pretty good as well. My fav may have been the spicy bbq sauce tho. I didn't even eat any of the cornbread. My colleague who also ordered bbq was not super impressed with his meal, as it's pretty hard to find good Texas style bbq outside of Texas. Greeted right away. Friendly service. Clean restaurant. There are multiple tables and plenty of seats at the bar. I chose this place based on reviews and its location. Glad I did. It was great. A little expensive but I guess everything is these days. The cheeseburger was cooked just as I had requested. The hand cut fries were delicious, filling and not overly greasy. The raspberry sauce and butter sauces are a MUST ORDER. They charge $1.00 per sauce although the menu said 2 for .99 cents. I probably could have gotten an adjustment on the bill but I didn't feel like waiting and honestly, they were worth the price. The BBQ and spicy sauces on the table are free and were good as well. The bathrooms were clean and odor free. The baked beans are good; they have a lot of meat in them. The pulled pork was good; you put your own sauce on it. I love the toasted bun on the sandwich and the hamburger. We will be back and we will take all guests who come to visit us. It was $29.00 for two of us-water to drink but worth it. read more

I was in Kingsport for a couple days of training and found the Ole Crow Tavern through a recommendation from the hotel staff. This was an excellent choice! I got the 2-meat platter with sliced brisket and smoked turkey. Both were well smoked and tender without being mushy. The brisket had a nice smoke ring. Their Mac and Cheese was amazing - creamy with lots of cheese and a little heat. The Baked Beans were also great - not sure if it was pulled pork or brisket, but the meat added some punch to the beans. I finished off with their blackberry cobbler and ice cream - tasty and not too sweet. The ice cream went well with the blackberries. The only downside was they didn't have any coffee options for the dessert, but I guess I shouldn't complain since it is a bar, after all. Don't let the "tavern" side scare you off, was decent volume to allow table conversations with out yelling (6:30 on a Friday). We found this place because of a ZachBites on Facebook. Zach was right on spot! Delicious! We shared the Bologna Bites Yummy! Smokey Seasoned BBQ sauce and a Mustard sauce to dip the pieces of Bologna! Delicious! I have been Dying for the Wings that Zach talked about. They were Amazing! I had the Asian & Raspberry Chipotle. They were cooked to perfection, moist and meaty on the inside and a nice little crispy crunch of the skin. I loved the flavors I choose, and I dipped in Blue Cheese, Yum! My boyfriend had the Pulled Pork sandwich on a yummy looking bun with homemade French Fries! I got to taste the Fries and they were perfect! The Pork he said was delicious. We were Sooo Full when we left, but did save a little to go. The Server was very attentive and he was kind. The place inside is really cool! The Bar was covered in coins set in resin very neat. The walls were paneled by strips of wood whisky barrels, really cool! Screens with Sports, good music (not loud) playing on the speakers. We can't wait to go back and try something else yummy!!!! Mediocre at best. Some stuff was a big hit, but the others brought everything down. The ribs and brisket were good, but other stuff like the mac & cheese chicken tenders wings were just disappointing. The mac & cheese felt so plasticky like it came out of a Sysco bag. I've honestly had better at Panera. Our waiter was decent, but it was visible that I didn't like my meal and she pretended to not noticed. After dropping off the food and asked me if everything looks good she never came back and asked how it was. This was my second time going there and it had the same problems bad service, some good quality, food, and some the same as a fast food place which is incredibly disappointing for the price of everything. On top of that, our waiter stood by while we paid and were pressured to tip a more than fair amount for mediocre best service. The whole experience would buy very fast. We arrived around 8 AM left at about 840. As soon as we sat down the waiter, was there ready to take our drink orders which was nice. We ended up ordering the nachos for an appetizer and each of us got meals however, the entrées came out not even five minutes after we got our appetizer. The whole experience felt very rushed and felt as if they were trying to get us in and out very quickly, which is not something that many people look for when paying for what is supposed to be a good quality restaurant. And of course you can stay after your table has been cleaned, but that is not enjoyable and makes the customer feel very unwanted. read more

The food was DELICIOUS, especially the BRISKET, and the atmosphere was upbeat and pleasant (a little noisy but not unreasonable)...but what really made the experience excellent and memorable was our SERVER, Savannah. This bbq restaurant was a busy, loud, & delicious dining experience. We got wings and deviled eggs for appetizers, various platters for entrees, and quite a few sides. The wings are smoked and grilled. Great flavor, though the buffalo was not hot. Deviled eggs are sweet relish, good but not everyone's recipe. All the smoked meats were fantastic. The brisket, the pulled pork, and the pulled chicken were all flavorful. We tried the raspberry chipotle bbq sauce for an extra $.99 & while I had to pass because it has cinnamon in it, several at the table gobbled it up. My friend and I went there this evening to a relatively empty restaurant. There were a few customers there but not many. There appeared to be three waitresses and a bartender working but we never saw a manager the entire time we were there. We waited 10-15 minutes before a waitress finally came over to get our drink order. After placing our order, our waitress never came by to check on us for several minutes and my friend's drink had been empty for awhile. She finally brought him a refill. For an almost completely empty restaurant, we waiting quite awhile for our meals. When our food was finally brought to us, everything on my plate was cold than my side with was lukewarm and greasy. I assume our food was leftovers from earlier in the day or had been sitting back in the kitchen for an extended time not picked up by our waitress. I would have complained but again there was no manager in site. Plus the serving sizes were very small. I ended up stopping at a fast food restaurant to get something else to eat feel full. We could tell other customers in the restaurant that seemed annoyed like we were with the whole dining experience. At one point I saw one of the waitresses talking on her phone as she rolled silverware so I assume she was cut but it wasn't a good look when you have customers receiving bad service. Excellent! This place needs more reviews and customers. My gf got the salad with chicken and it was HUGE for $11.99. everything was fresh and with a great presentation. I got the Smokestack Burger cooked medium that has a smoky tasting burger along with brisket bites, bacon and caramelized onions. The fries are much better than most places ...skin on and cooked so they're not floppy (my pet peeve). One of the best burgers I've ever had and I'm 65 years old. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce used on the burger as it was a tad sweet (unless that was coming from the onions) I believe but their spicy bbq sauce on the table was terrific so next time I'll just use that. Both the sweet and spicy sauces were great. If you like the sauce at Southern Craft it's in that flavor zone . Liz was our server and she was aces. If there's one thing I'd change it would be the house music. It's like some Euro-Pop genre... doesn't exactly go with the rustic BBQ/Tap Room vibe they're creating here.. Americana music would fit much better. I know most managers don't give more than a moment's thought to this because I see it everywhere from Mexican to Chinese to Italian restaurants. The hostess and waitress was very friendly and helpful. First time and last. Bologna bites was really good. only had part of what we ordered so we had to choose something else. The steak was not good at all both of us got different steaks potatoes was cold and even got fresh ones and they were cold in the middle. Was offered something else but after everything was not good we said no. The meal was not worth the price. There should have been a discount of some kind. 30 dollars for one and 27 for the other. My husband asked to go to Texas Roadhouse and he got a very flavorful tasteing steak for 20 dollars and bigger in size. Saw this place on TikTok several times. Had the day off decided to give it a try. It was terrible. Me and my husband got the 3 meat combo ribs wings and smoked sausage I got house fries ( out of a bag) bbq beans they were good but cold. My husband got collard greens cold and a loaded baked potato raw and cold. Wings were over cooked and cold at the same time. They had 2 servers on one was also the bartender.
