Loved the beautiful location on the lake. The menu is simple food done really well. The prices are affordable and the serous spot on!

Damn!!! I can't believe it has taken me almost two years to finally visit this place that is only four miles from my home. It is no excuse but honestly, it is in the boonies!!! The location is a small marina on the lake and the ambiance of a boat parking site is evident but don't let that fool you. The food is wonderful. We're not talking Michelin stars here but good solid basic food that'll please your appetite. On Fridays they have an all you can eat fish and chips. Before you bemoan the AYCE aspect, let me share that every part was awesome. The fish was light with a perfect breading. It was not greasy and came with fries and hush puppies. All done splendidly. This place is also known for their pizza and burgers. A return trip or three may be on this summer's schedule. My only negative is no alcohol. Cmon, with a lake view and fishing cabin atmosphere, who doesn't think of a nice cold beer.

Just chilling with a view for dinner

All about the view of the lake and some good comfort food. Nothing fancy but great casual place to hang out for a good meal. Thursday night special was steak and gravy and it hit the spot. Good size pizza for $11 and plenty of fried food options. Whether boating into the marina or just need some time on the deck with a lake view, Boonies is worth the trip.

Great spot, great food and value. Double burger was huge fresh and delicious. BLT was very good Biscuits and gravy and sausage was also excellent. Very clean restaurant and the staff was very friendly, I will be back. Also grabbed 4 pieces of pie to try each flavor and they were excellent as well.

They use best cheeses. & Fresh veggies highly recommend this friendly pizza place, they have helpful staff & clean tables. Our First time there on a Thursday evening. We got a to go orders, A supreme large mouth watering meats with toasty toppings. As expected the crust on the pies were delicious & cooked just right soft & chewy moist not overly worked it melted in our mouths. No. Flash frozen pie crust used mmm here. Better than Chicago pizzas. And their version of cheesy bread the cheese was delicious with hint of garlic salt? I could Not stop eating it We got it to go with a small cheese pie, but as soon as we got the whole order, we opened peeked at the cheese bread. That was all it took, We had to sit down right then & there to eat some. One piece became three or four I lost count. Something I noticed while we waited for our order was that there was a steady stream of patrons coming in for take out orders and the least of these orders was three pies many were four or five boxes. If you love a good pizza. I recommend you try Dough Slingers. Call ahead they are busy. Only con we ran into was confusion about when they are open the Web site gave one set off open/ closed time the phone message was different so call well in advance. Post script I found out why they have such a weird schedule they provide Pizza for the high school games. So I'm sure all the. Locals are aware when they are going to be closed, but call them. I'm thinking a couple of more pies in the oven will not matter too much as long as you can pick them up early. If not go to some great food at the what ever the seasons games are going on. I'll try to take photo next time before we devour it & leave only crumbs.

Another fantastic find on our trip to Johnson City... another box checked: PIZZA!…read more We found Scratch Brick Oven and at first I thought we were in the wrong place because it's tucked into a residential area. But the second we parked, we could smell that wood-fired oven doing its thing. That smoky, toasty aroma? Instant confirmation we were exactly where we needed to be. Is this place fancy? Ahhhh... NO. And that's part of the charm. We went early for dinner (around 4:30ish). A few people were coming and going. You fill out your order on paper sheets and they make 12" pies, perfect for individual tastes. We ordered a plain cheese as our barometer (because you always judge a pizza place by the basics). I built mine with pepperoni, red onion, fresh mushrooms, and roasted whole garlic cloves. While I was trying to be subtle snapping photos, Theodore opened the door to the wood-fired oven and invited us to take a look. OMG. I LOVE a wood fire oven, and this one was glowing red hot. He explained the pies cook in about six minutes. They're thin crust but sturdy enough to hold their toppings once they cool and set a bit. Just look at the pics. Again... not fancy. Paper plates. Plastic utensils. But honestly? You could serve this on a paper towel and it would still be phenomenal. MIND. BLOWN. The crust is perfectly balanced and crunchy. The red sauce? Perfection. They smoke the meats in house, and that pepperoni was unlike anything I've ever had. And the roasted garlic? Absolute game changer. I imagine they already have a huge following, but if you haven't tried this place yet... put it on your list. Immediately.
