He not only learned how to survive and swim in the water, he learned to love the water. Now he wants a pool in our backyard. ISR are ten minute swim lessons everyday for up to six weeks. Ten minutes doesn't sound very long, but the kids get tired. They are being instructed the entire ten minutes. The instructor, Mr Mike, is phenomenal with the kids. He gets down to business from the second they enter the pool until the end of the lesson. He is a professional swim teacher and not just a someone who was on swim team in the past teaching swim lessons. Your kid will learn to float/swim, guaranteed. My 22 month old learned to float/swim from the middle of the pool to out of the pool by the 4th week or so. Before we started I was a little nervous about how Mr. Mike was going to teach my baby to hold his breath underwater and flip to his back to float. I was pretty sure my baby was not going to understand the directions given to him or handle the lessons well. He screamed for the entire first week of lessons (Mr. Mike is used to screaming kids and handles it very well), but he made it to the end of the six weeks floating/swimming to safety. The whole process is pretty fascinating to watch. And seeing your child increase their skills and confidence in the water each day is extremely rewarding. ISR was definitely the best way to get my apprehensive children comfortable and confident in the water. This will be our fourth year with Mr. Mike. Our first graduated out of the program swimming like a fish, our second is having a 2 week refresher course, and our third will be starting his first lesson in June. Mr. Mike teaches from his home in dunwoody. He has an outdoor and small indoor pool and teaches year round. He teaches kids from 6 months to 6 years and offers two week refresher courses after the first year.

She started at the Trigger Fish level, advanced to Sea Lions, and just recently graduated to Manta Rays. The academy's structured approach--requiring specific skills to be mastered at each stage--has clearly paid off. She's athletic and attentive, and the instructors have done a fantastic job channeling those strengths into steady improvement. Each level seems to take her about 5-6 weeks to complete, which speaks volumes about both her effort and the academy's teaching methods. With only two levels left after Manta Rays, she's well on her way to being ready for our HOA's competitive summer swim team, which runs six intense weeks with six tournaments. The difference in her confidence and ability in the water is easy to see. Honestly, I may not be able to swim away from her when she chases me in the pool next summer! Watching her master the different strokes has been exciting, and I'm grateful for the academy's clear progression system and supportive environment. The upside for the owner and shop is that it appears they have so many customers they have zero obligation or motivation to care or fulfill promises. -- I spoke with the owner, Randy Wright, about six advanced courses I planned to complete. Randy said he was just on a call with the Director of SSI Training, who Randy would call back. Randy stated he would get answers to my questions and "call me right back." Five days and counting, no call back. -- Online, a week in advance, I scheduled and paid for an Advanced Wreck course. The day prior to the course I called to inquire if it was only going to be classroom of if we would be in the pool as well. The employee informed me that no instructor was available and the class would not be held. No one was planning to call and warn me before my one-hour drive to the shop and there was no offer of a refund! -- I've experienced the same lack of service is at both the Memphis and Marietta shops -- which seems to reflect the experience I had with the owner. If I blew off clients and did not keep promises, I wouldn't have a business left. So good on The Dive Shop for creating a model where me as a customer is undeserving of promised service. The only one professional in the shop is Lisa Collins so if you have to go to The Dive Shop, see her.

We knew going into this that it was expensive, but what we didn't realize is that for the VERY high price, there are still so many HIDDEN FEES! My son was there for 6 months (started in January) and we were charged $600 for a mat and activity fee. He was 6 months old.. had been there for not even a year, and our first "mat fee" was FREE. Not to mention infants have the highest tuition and it was still on us to provide their food - and i dont mean bottles - i mean snacks, baby food.. I didn't even realize that food was BARE mimimum ! If you have the money and are willing, it's 100% worth it, but if you are a working parent who doesn't have a ton of excess money, go somewhere else. They will charge you an arm and a leg. Talking from experience.

Our experience with Quad Academy has been nothing short of a nightmare. In May 2023, we provided…read morethe school with a proper written notice that our child's last day would be June 30, 2023, which is well within the required 30-day notice per their handbook. We paid the full tuition for June, but shortly after, I had to remove my child due to safety concerns. The owner agreed to a courtesy credit of $1,023.75, which was refunded to our card. However, on July 6, 2023, they made an unauthorized charge of $1,417.50 to my account despite our clear notice. When we tried to resolve this issue with the owner, she avoided our calls and emails by blocking us, leaving us with no way to communicate. Even when we attempted to contact the school directly, the administrative staff repeatedly said, "Can we take a message?" but no one ever returned our calls or emails. This left us with no choice but to move forward with serving legal papers. It's clear that the owner is trying to keep the courtesy credit of $1,023.75 by offering a partial refund of $393.75, which is far below the total unauthorized charge of $1,417.50. Despite several attempts to resolve this amicably, the school refuses to return the full amount or even communicate honestly. Additionally, the level of professionalism at this school is appalling. We received emails from the school that were sent to multiple parents in copied emails, discussing other children's behavioral issues. This breach of privacy was disturbing and unprofessional. Our child, who has always been a top scholar with high marks in Georgia, began to feel bullied and picked on by the teachers. She never experienced issues in her other academies. She repeatedly complained to us about the treatment she was receiving from the staff, which made her time at Quad Academy even more difficult. Since our experience, we've spoken with several other parents who shared similar concerns about being mistreated by the staff and having issues with the school's unprofessional conduct. It seems these problems are not isolated, and many parents have felt unsupported and dismissed by the administration. While this all took place in 2023, I am only now leaving this review because we have been unable to resolve this matter despite multiple attempts. It has taken this long due to the lack of response from the school and the need to take legal action to get the situation properly addressed. We have written proof in emails that support everything stated here, including the courtesy credit agreement, the unauthorized charge, and our attempts to resolve the issue. If you are considering enrolling your child here, I would advise you to think twice. The school's unethical behavior and unprofessional conduct are concerning, and we are now pursuing legal action. The owner's avoidance of responsibility speaks volumes about the lack of integrity this school operates with. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I strongly urge others to proceed with caution.
