Wel, BigBoyz saved the day. Trying to send a rifle off to be rebarreled. Post office was trying to charge hundreds of dollars and then refused to ship. Went to BigBoyz and they repackaged my rifle, even gave me a lighter case, bubble wrap and cardboard box. They then were able to ship the rifle. They went far and beyond what I expected. My experience with Big Boyz has been nothing short of negative. My wife and I had our eyes on a couple guns for quite some time. With the bans coming into place here on July 1st, we decided to "pull the trigger" and order the pistols online. We ordered the pistols on the same order and had them shipped to Big Boyz. After they arrived they gave me a call to come by and pick up the pistols. When my wife and I arrived they would not let my wife pick up her pistol because the shipping label arrived with my name on it. They said that I had paid for it and so it couldn't be transferred. They said, "it's the law" according to the ATF. I called the Virginia ATF field office and spoke with one of their firearms investigative field agents who stated that the law required the legal OWNER of the gun to be the one to fill out the paperwork and go through the process. This would be my wife. Dave, the owner of Big Boyz, refused to listen to the ATF agent, and told the ATF agent that the law did not say that. It's funny that when confronted with the truth of the law, you just disagree for the sake of being right, even when you're wrong. They refused to transfer my wife's gun to her. I still was able to get mine and my background check went through no problem. So the issue wasn't like my wife was buying a gun for me. She was not. We bought our guns, and I was able to get mine and she was not able to get hers because of a policy, that they claimed was "law". They claim the first line I have no problem with them having a policy in place that may be stricter than the law. But, don't claim it's the law, then be shown that its not the law, and then refuse to transfer it on the grounds its illegal. It's not. When I was leaving Dave was speaking out loud that they will "continue to abide by their policies". I re-iterated, that the keyword in that was POLICY, not LAW, said have a good day and walked out. Dave proceeded to follow me to the parking lot saying, "don't walk away from me like that" and said if I came back I would be trespassing. So, in sum, they treated me extremely poorly as if I was some sort of criminal (yet still gave me a gun after my background check came through), would not let my wife get her gun, when shown and told directly from an ATF agent that the ATF and law has no problem with this transaction, told me not to come back and trespassed me, and still have my wife's gun that we've already paid for... DO NOT COME HERE! Vote with your dollar, we have a right to bear arms, and they would not let my wife legally exercise that right. read more

Have bought several guns from them at reasonable prices. As a reloader, I have found powders and Brass that has been not available at other stores and prices very competitive. Always stop by after leaving Salem Gun Shows as I did when Roanoke still had them (when they had brains). The customer service is outstanding, the parts they have at the shop are first rate, I have had some gunsmithing done and it had turned out perfectly. The owner or whatever is an absolute a******. All of the guys work with him are nice but Mike, he needs to get his crappy attitude in check. I will never go back there after this. I watched him treat a customer like garbage. Quality AR parts but mediocre quality guns at best. Something you would see from a part time, low end gun collector. Quantity of guns does not mean much when the mass is up from sub-par generic manufactures. Try Greentop in Richmond, VA. A lot better guns and people. I watched him belittle a man in front of his six-year-old daughter because he asked for a clip instead of magazine for his daughter to shoot her 22. Obviously the guy did not know much about guns and just wanted to shoot with his daughter and Mike seemed to think it was funny and felt like a man. smirking and seeming annoyed the poor guy did not have mikes gun knowledge. I honestly felt bad for the guy but honestly even worse for mike, its sad he has to be like that to feel good about himself. Dude obviously has a small pecker and is miserable. Go elsewhere. I've always been please with the service I received at Big Boyz, but up to this point, I have only dealt with the men who work there. I have two grown daughters, who own a business, and were interested in purchasing hand guns. We came in last week, one decided on a gun. When purchasing, a lady stepped behind the counter to handle the transaction. I had never seen her before, but by the way she talked to some of the male employees, it seemed she was in charge. I offered to pay with my credit card, to which the lady very loudly protested, insisting she couldn't take that, which hadn't occured to me, so no problem. Then my daughter turned to her sister and said, "hand me my money" (they have a JOINT checking account, and had just stopped at the bank. This daughter was driving, so when she got the envelope of money at the drive thru, she handed it to her sister). At this point, the lady could have asked, "is this your money?". Instead, she turned into a drama queen, very loudly saying, over and over, "I can't take that, I can't take that, I can't take that", as the three of us kept telling her that they had a joint account, and it was her own money. She couldn't hear us through her dramatics. The store was full of people, a steady stream, the entire time we were there. When she finally took the money, she continued her diatribe. The three of us were embarrassed and humiliated. Again, she could have simply asked if it was her money. This lady, at the very least, needs some training in customer service, and how to deal with the public. We were at two other gun stores that day, and were treated in a professional way. Great gumsmith service, very knowledgeable and they have a nice selection of firearms.

Good local shop with a really decent knowledge of firearms. They will work with you on any subject related to firearms. Along with that they also have the lowest prices on all there rifles and long guns, PLUS they are builders of some of the most rugged AR's seen. There is a video of one of their builds on their webpage that is really serious, "ie" drowning as well as dragging the firearm with a 4 wheeler. I purchased a Canik pistol there and it was a fast flawless transaction. The pistol was special ordered and I was told it would take a week before it could be picked up BUT the next morning I received a call and was told that the order had been shipped overnight and can be picked up that evening !!
