We were just stopping by to look around but I am definitely excited to be back and grab a few items when I have more time. After shopping BBP online for years, I was really excited to be able to go in-store and see how items fit in real life before purchasing. I bought a pair of action pants and love the fit - my biggest issue with BBP is how different items will fit differently and may break in differently depending on the cut and type of fabric used. It can make online shopping difficult sometimes as things aren't as cut and dry as making sure something fits your measurements exactly. That said, the person who helped me find the right fit in action pants said they break in quite a bit and to size down, and after wearing them for a few days I can see exactly what they mean! Also have to say how unusual and exciting it is to visit any brick and mortar and they carry multiple plus sizes! Anyway, I was so happy to visit and hope to make it back one day. read more

4 stars The store is beautifully organized and the colors remind me of the 70s for some reason. Maybe that is what they're going for? I didn't try anything on, especially after checking out the prices. I need overalls and there were some in the back of the store, but the price tag stated $225, so I had to put that back! Talk about sticker shock! The fabric is very thick and the I liked the fact that it's made in the U.S.A. And it's so so so colorful! awful business. they tout themselves as being size inclusive, but they aren't. they only make clothes that look good on one body type (guess which one it is). just because something might fit doesn't make it inclusive. if you can't style something to fit according to a variety of body types, it's not inclusive! all you have to do is look at the photos on the website. notice how something falls and fits on their main model, typical tall white XXS woman (target audience), and then look at how that same article of clothing fits people with different body types. clearly only flattering in hers because they only style it for her kind. business practices are predatory, return policy is crap, the quality was good for maybe a year. all you have to do is look at reddit to see. they love say that the INSANE prices are because of paying living wages ethics etc etc and they wave that flag fuckin' hard because it is literally all they got going for them. but if you have to brag about paying fair wages - you're doing something horribly wrong. american apparel did the same shit at a FRACTION of the cost, and they actually WERE size inclusive. typical gentrified bs. they don't belong here and they are proud of it. they love that they're gentrifiers and they've even said so. it's disgusting and shameful. all they care about is profit margins so they can open up more shops. they're scumbags. read more

I've walked into Big Bud Press before, but never purchased anything until my last visit. I first knew them for their colorful bags and basics. This time I shopped their apparel, not the basic loungewear, but their more tailored looks. I tried on their Pantry Button-Up Shirt paired with their Heritage Trousers. I love how they look together and the trousers have a stretch to them in the waistline so over time, they will stretch out a little- I bought both items in XXS. The garments are kind of on the pricey side, but I think they are quality garments. Plus, if its tough to find pieces that look good / fit well for your body type, you have to get them when you find them (at least that's what I think). Very cute clothes in a variety of colors and a great range of sizes, up to a 6X. I wasn't sure what the sizing would be like, because the pants are supposed to fit tight. Also this is the bigger store - they have a smaller one on Sunset. I hope this helps someone else out - I'm normally a size 12 in pants at Old Navy, sometimes a 10 if the cut is right. I went with the large at Big Bud and the fit was comfortable but still flattering. I don't think I'd be comfortable sitting down for long periods if I went with a smaller size, but the XL was too big. I also have a larger waist and hips, so keep that in consideration. The pants did stretch after wearing for a day, but I still think the large was the best call. Overall, a cute store with lots of fitting rooms and very friendly staff. For made in the USA clothes, the quality is good and the price isn't too bad, comparable to J Crew. read more

These backpacks have faulty zippers and they don't stay closed. I can't use these bags because of this, or I need to get them fixed with new zippers. It's not just a one off either, I bought two bags and I did not over stuff them, and the zippers don't stay closed. The staff wasn't helpful about it they were rude and snobby and accused me of somehow causing this when it's just that they didn't do good quality control. These bags would have never made it to the floor, I would have stopped production and changed out the zippers. read more

I've followed big bud press on instagram for a while, and also have purchased from their site, I finally decided to shop in person. Last week it was 10/10. Well stocked, very friendly, great service. Yet this week was completely opposite. We were approached by an unfriendly worker who singled us out for buying a lot the previous week. she said the manager made a rule about no transactions over $2,000. Firstly, their overalls are almost $250 for ONE pair. Their tanks are $38. My 3 siblings were in the midst of school shopping, this was their top pick since it is so size inclusive. 3 kids shopping for school clothes, with those prices, and that limit is way more of hinderance than a help. Secondly, we walked in with a group of 7, if needed to know for some weird reason(which apparently they did need to know), we're all divided in 3 houses. Even 3 different cities to be exact. They said $2,000 limit and we had thought they meant each person. Still annoying but the kids needed their clothes the next day so we ignored. The last two people in our 'party' to leave came back saying that they were told that the next time is PER FAMILY and that's what they had meant from the beginning. SO DOES THIS MEAN THAT JUST TO BUY FROM THIS STORE WE NEED TO DISCLOSE WHO LIVES WITH WHO, and WHERE? WTH! They say it's for fraud but their quality is great, everything was tried on. There would be no reason for fraud or even returns. After singling us out, refusing 4 pictures of the same ID, (never been ID'd here before, btw and her attitude about it was really 'don't wanna be here') , the rude worker returned to the back after only "helping" us. Once again, singled out. It's very clear she is who all of these comments about rude / bad service are about. add on all of these reviews on to her resume, because being around people is not her strong suit. .0001% chance of returning. catch me shopping online though Bc FANTASTIC QUALITY. I purchased a jumpsuit and romper online while I was working a very demanding work schedule. I did this to buy myself a little gift as a reward for a grueling work schedule. When the items came in they were way too small for me even though I already own stuff from this brand in the same sizing. Since my schedule was so intense I didn't have time to return in store until August 17th (I received my items on July 20th). I had no idea that the return policy was just two weeks. The store manager basically shamed me for trying to return within 30 days and wouldn't even consider an exchange. I love this local business! I mean, their online shop is amazing, but how lucky are we to be able to visit IRL in HLP? It's like stepping off of York and into a cool, colorful 70s lounge. The store is full of rad jumpsuits, amazing high waisted pants, graphic tees, jackets, bags, and enamel pins. The staff working onsite is always really helpful with grabbing sizes and offering ideas. Prices are fair for the quality and the fact that their stuff is locally made! Had such a positive experience at this location today that I had to write a review. Staff were incredibly helpful, kind, attentive, and thoughtful. The whole vibe of the store is so lovely and inclusive. At first the mid-store dressing room seemed daunting, but instead it was an opportunity for staff to be extra available and it was just complement city (with helpful feedback!) from them and other shoppers Broad selection of sizes with opportunity to free ship anything they didn't have in store. Unlike many others I didn't know about big bud press till they opened their highland park store down the street from me. Though once I popped in I recognized some of their wares from dog walks and drives around the neighborhood. I think there's been a renewed focus in the food sector on who is running the business, how they're running it, how they treat their employees and customers, where they're from and why they're here now, that has both pointed some well deserved scrutiny at the old guard and provided an opportunity for people who come from various backgrounds and levels of education/training to enter the scene. At the end of the day all businesses seem to be about a great product, but it's become increasingly important to focus on empowering and supporting great people too. At least it seems that way to me because that's the industry I'm in. As far as I can tell the fashion/clothing industry is heading that way too, with companies like Big Bud Press at the vanguard. They are completely transparent about their manufacturing process, their philosophy, their pricing, and their approach to retail sales. You shouldn't really be asking why something at a store like this is expensive and may take a while to arrive - you can ask them personally, or follow their socials and figure it out pretty fast. You SHOULD, however, ask yourself why clothing at the fast fashion brands (who often and openly steal designs and IP from artists like the ones at BBP) is so cheap. And if you really find yourself on the side of small, community focused business in political discussions but you buy all your clothes from the mega brands maybe there is some room to grow. As for the clothing itself, I bought a ringer t shirt from them that is super comfortable and is surviving my lifestyle well. I know the jumpsuits are a craze but have never tried one myself. If you take 10 seconds to visit their store or IG you'll realize their personality and aesthetic would be poorly served by the constraints of written language (especially on a Fn review site built for food). The whole place and brand is a ride, man, and the people that run it are good humored and nice to talk to. read more

BBP clothing is SO STINKING CUTE. Cute fun pins: I got a hot dog and a wild strawberry but it was sooo hard to limit myself to two. And great stickers and accessories. Their stuff is hand made in LA and you can feel the quality. The shirts I bought were soooo soft and just cute as hell. But most importantly their customer service is fucking awesome. I bought a bandana from them and one of the workers helped me put it in my hair (adorable) and I received so many compliments. There is a sign that says on lunch be back at 5??? I mean who has 1 person running a store and gives them an hour lunch break?
