This was our second time to visit big Cedar. We stayed in the cabins again. The views are amazing. The room is fantastic. If I had somebody's ear, the only things I would say is replace the beds because they're hard as rocks. Please put some washers and dryers in the cabinets and it would be perfect. Three stars...let me explain. 1 STAR for accomodations in the Springview Lodge (1 bedroom king). The room had a mildew/damp smell which Big Cedar is clearly aware of as evidenced by the dehumidifier next to the love seat as well as the rusted air vents. The furniture & carpet is old... like 1970s awful and needs to be replaced. For the price we paid I expected a very nice room. 5 STARS for everything outside of the room. Dining at Osage, Devil's Pool, Uncle Buck's was excellent! Boat rental was super reasonably priced at $55 per hour and the golf cart tour at Top of the Rock was great fun. So....I recommend staying elsewhere that's newer and less expensive than Big Cedar Lodge and just enjoying all of their activities and restaurants . read more

I didn't quite know what to expect. My parents wanted us to take us on a weekend getaway. We got 3 rooms in Falls Lodge. I expected the rooms to be nicer than they were. They just felt dated. The sheets on the beds were great but I hated the pillows. The room itself just didn't feel super clean or what I would expect for the price. The attention to detail just wasn't there. We had burned out lights in our room, our fireplace didn't work, etc. I will say the grounds are gorgeous and we enjoyed Fun Mountain and the indoor pool. The small touches of the lodge becomes magnified during the winter season. Lights @ night create a magical effect to this rambling hills & lake area. Each buildings architecture is outlined by white lights. The cabins decks & rooftop though out the woods all outlined with white lights. Twigs & white lights are mixed & sculpted to create deer, elk, bear, reindeer & horses (pulling wagons/sleds). The splash of colored lights become special and meaningful. (Santa is easy to spot) The blazing 3 story fire place is matched by the Christmas tree w/ a great Santa sled to greet us @ the convention center. While not Christmas, a new full Mastodon skeleton @ the main lodge is a impressive addition. I am very impressed by what has been done for my first post Thanksgiving visit. read more

Occasion: Business Conference As much as I can appreciate the beauty of this place, I'll be so happy to see it in my rear view later today. But this isn't really anything the resort can affect - it's just too darn cold this week to really enjoy a place like this. This resort is in an idyllic setting and has everything a family visiting the area could possibly want - fun zone for the kids, lake life, shooting for the parents, and many other things. It's also just beautiful to walk around and look at all of the Christmas trees and lights. The service is excellent too, and I've had some of the best food I've had at buffet style dinners while I've been here. The room is what most would consider lovely. I'm just not into the hunting aesthetic though - the four dead animals in my room and the GIANT, heavy, antleresque chandelier in my room add up to a creepy sleeping experience. Also, there's a beautiful cathedral window but it's a lot less beautiful at the crack of dawn when the room fills with light because it's not shaded. There were also a couple of maintenance issues and they struggled to keep the walkways salted or I probably would have given them 5 stars. I can tell that this is a top notch resort that probably appeals to most people. It's not my cup of tea but I can appreciate quality even if it's not my taste so it's still a four star experience. Wonderful property on Table Rock lake south of Brandon. Several nice scenic roads to drive around and see the area. Restaurants are a little pricey, but there is a store in town you can load up & save a few bucks. Spa experience was nice when I went & they gave a quality massage. I personally prefer Spring & Fall for the foliage, but summers on the lake are super popular too. Great experience. read more

What an amazing resort! My family and I enjoyed a 1-night stay over Easter weekend. We had wonderful experience. Our cabin came with a full kitchen, an upstairs and downstairs bedroom, and balcony that overlooked Table Rock Lake. Unfortunately, we were only here slight of 24 hours, but we were to enjoy a late night game of bowling and bumper cars at Fun Mountain. There are many indoor and outdoor activities to do throughout the resort, as well as various dining and relaxation options. I was even able to enjoy a delicious steak dinner brought to me by room service! Big Cedar is a great place for families, friends, couples, you name it! It's about 15 minutes out from of Branson, where there are a ton of eateries and fun spots to try out. I guarantee you will enjoy your stay here! read more

What an over priced dump! $700.00 per night for a musty room With completely outdated decor. Somebody had the brilliant idea to put a giant stained glass window in the west wall of the room that shined on the bed like a prism. They were no curtains to cover the window and if you wanted to sit in bed and watch TV you needed to wear sunglasses, a hat and SPF 50 sunblock. I felt like the antenna of an ant being burned by a magnifying glass! You are completely held captive at this resort because you need transportation to go anywhere and often times you have to wait a long time for the shuttles. Additionally, the "common "room in the middle of the Lodge doesn't even have a TV so when you are congregating with your friends you can't watch a sporting event together, etc. The highlight was watching my shuttle arrive to transport me to the airport so I could get the hell out of there. This is indeed a beautiful property just outside Branson, Missouri. It's kind of like going to a cowboy themed resort in Arizona. Beauty is everywhere, but it's very touristy and highly commercialized. Prices are VERY EXPENSIVE. I saw many Men's shirts in the gift shop for $100-150. As soon as I arrived, I learned there was no water on the property at all. No water means all of the restaurants shut down (except alcohol sales) because you can't cook or wash dishes without water. It eventually was turned on about 9pm. When you've traveled all day, you want to rest, and I at least don't want to get into a clean bed unshowered. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Being that I went during the shoulder season, there wasn't a lot to do. EVERYTHING costs money and even $32 to walk through the Top of the Rocks museum. A nice stay, but I doubt I'll ever return. read more

We recently returned from our vacation to big cedar lodge and we had a wonderful time. My family (2 adults and 3 children ages 11, 11 and 5) all loved big cedar and the amenities they had to offer. We stayed in a lodge and since there are 5 of us the space was a little tight but manageable and we was able to fit a twin size air mattress on the floor. My children loved fun mountain which can get a little pricey but we gave the kiddos a set amount to spend on activities and they had fun choosing which ones they wanted to. My husband, I and our youngest really enjoyed the bowling such a fun theme. I could go on and on about how wonderful big cedar lodge is but why dont you go and see for yourself :) I doubt you will regret it. read more

After reserving our group trip a year in advance, we were ousted from our 4 bd villa to accommodate the PBR and Garth event this week. We were offered an offsite home 5 miles away or cancel the trip. Big Cedar has become just another place to go. It seems as Johnny Morris grows older, the senior management of BIg Cedar is in chaos. Getting assistance with website issues in order to place activity reservations only leads to very long holds and no results. Calls that are routed by the operator to individual restaurants go unanswered. The calls are not routed back to the operator or voice mail; the phone continues to ring. The quality of service and food has dropped significantly over the past year. Just for the record, don't bother calling the corporate office in Springfield, you will simply be transferred to Big Cedar and it is apparent corporate is not interested in Big Cedar. read more

Be very sure before booking reservations! I had to cancel my reservations less than 48 hours after booking. This was for a stay a year from now in 2024. The resort charged a $100 without any consideration to my situation. In all my years of travel, I have never had a property charge a fee when the reservations are over a year out. It's not like they aren't going to sell the room to someone else. Very sad and terrible customer service. Shame on me for trying to plan ahead - life happens. read more

The weather is showing 90-100% chance of rain all day (I'm talking thunderstorms all day). I called this morning to find out their rain policy, and was told no cancellations within a 24 hr window. I asked if my kids are supposed to ice skate in the rain and was told, yes, they can. And we can ride the NOT covered tram to view Christmas lights in a rain storm. And participate in the completely outdoor family scavenger hunt in the storm. The only way they'll refund us is if they decide to cancel due to lightning! read more

We always stayed at Big Cedar Lodge. Twice a year we come here to relax and enjoy the grounds with our two year old daughter. Camp Long Creek opened this weekend and the lady over the phone assured us that the grounds will be nice. We booked months in advance. So we gave it a shot. We trusted them to not steer us wrong. As we drove into Camp Long Horn - we saw construction everywhere- this place is noticeably different. Nothing like Big Cedar. Not beautiful. Not quiet. Not clean. Construction junk riddled everywhere. The pool was not open. Noise pollution from trucks that constantly drove by all day. We have a great view of the parking lot and the construction junk. Our room was suppose to be a One Room Cabin that sleeps 4. How? We had one king size bed. When we called about the sleeper sofa - they had no idea what happened to it. Where is my child suppose to sleep? With me? With her foot in my face? That makes for a great vacation. I guess sleep is overrated. There is suppose to be an electric stove. Not a stove in sight. This is not glamorous and should have never been advertised at any part of a resort. It's terrible and I would never recommend coming here. Book at Big Cedar - do not recommend Camp Long Creek to any one I like. read more

I'm very surprised for the price you pay here that this place isn't cleaner and more accommodating. Let me start with, traveling into the heart of the bible belt is not my ideal vacation. Having Branson 10 miles down the highway did not make us rush to Big Cedar, yet the distant sound of banjo's in the distance was appealing! But it had been a stressful winter and we just wanted to get out of town and after a million trips to Eureka Springs, I knew it was time to try something new. I have heard from many different walks of life, year after year that we would love Big Cedar, after caving in and going, I have to agree that we in fact did love Big Cedar Lodge. The final selling point was that Big Cedar is more Ralph Lauren than Ozark Country, and I couldn't agree more. The resort is beautiful, huge and peaceful. It sits on the shores of Table Rock Lake. It has many different lodging choices, 3 restaurants to choose from (the two that we ate at were superb), 2 different spas, several pools, an airstream trailer selling ice cream, boat rentals, horseback riding, waterfalls, beautiful landscaping, on and on and on. We had a couple of massages, ate great food and hid away the rest of the time. You can make it as eventful or as peaceful as you wish it to be. I don't know if I could do a week get a way to Big Cedar, but a couple day retreat from our day to day routine was perfect for us. Not only are they booked at 100% during a pandemic (which we were willing to overlook) but this was eye-opening... One of the shuttle drivers shut the shuttle door on me while I was still on the step disembarking on Sunday, June 28th at approximately 11:30 am local time. I reported this IMMEDIATELY to registration and security and filed an official report. I have been unable to enjoy any of the other activities on property since and have had to cut my vacation short to return home to see a doctor about my injuries. Karen Lombardy, with security and risk management, said (and this is a direct quote) "IT IS OUR POLICY NOT TO APOLOGIZE TO YOU." All I wanted was an apology for being shut in a shuttle door and having to rip my arm out of it and they downright refuse. No offers to make it right, simply hounding me about whether I'm going to sue them or not. It's disgusting treatment and not okay. Strongly recommend NOT coming here since they don't give a care in the world about the safety and comfort of their guests whatsoever. I am livid that she would refuse to issue an apology and even more livid that I have had to cut my vacation short and not even be able to enjoy all of the amenities I PAID FOR to come here and they won't even say sorry. They've instead acted like it's no big deal and clearly don't care that it happened. The driver is claiming he had "no idea" it happened so apparently they're all going to pretend like it didn't happen. ZERO STARS. This is not how you treat guests at your resort. We had so many additional issues on top of this but they all pale in comparison to this treatment and reaction. Ruined my entire vacation. read more

This was the worst place I think I've ever stayed. I was mad after spending a weekend there. I'm furious after I found out how much it cost. My girlfriend paid because she had booked it to attend her son's wedding close by. The Lodge did return $400 to after her after she complained long enough but that still left a 3 night stay with over $1000 in room fees. Not including the food, which I paid for. The room was heavily infested with flies who buzzed in our faces while we tried to sleep. Mattress was uncomfortable. I got 2 spider bites while sleeping. We called for help with the flies and they sent a staff member who told us he wasn't a professional exterminator but that he would spray to kill them. We went up the street to the Devil's Pool restaurant to wait. That awful experience is reviewed separately. Earlier that day we had breakfast at Truman's. The food was obviously out of a steam table and not kept hot enough. I had severe stomach cramps that afternoon and stayed in bed the rest of the evening. Before refunding some money to my girlfriend the manager offered a free night. They have a 3 night minimum so he was selling her 2 more nights in a lame attempt to appease her. We will not be accepting the free night. You couldn't pay me to stay at Big Cedar again. read more

My family and I booked our 2nd visit for a 3 night Thanksgiving weekend so my grandson could see the amazing light display Big Cedar has as well as participate in some of the activities for children. Last year I booked a cabin that was a 2 bedroom near the marina. It was perfect! This year I decided to book a 3 bedroom cabin to have more room. This year 'not so especially for the price of the cabin plus the several issues we had'. One person wasn't able to go with us so when I checked in I cancelled that person as well as asked the clerk to cancel and refund the Nature At Night ride I had charged online for 3rd night. There was no record of the reservations on her end (I was told I could have it refunded on the scheduled night at Top of the Rock) but I did have a scheduled tram ride to see the lights 2 hours later. I told her that I hadn't made a reservation for that as we'd seen it last year. She cancelled it and refunded my charge. I asked her how I was charged for something that I hadn't made a reservation for. She said that 'sometimes a number is misplaced when a reservation is made'. I made sure after that I checked the charges I had. Onward. My family and I checked into the 'old rustic' cabin and likely the oldest. The master bedroom at night has low lighting. The jets on the upstairs bathtub didn't work. The fire in the fireplace hardly stayed lit so no fire per se. Unless the thermostat was turned up the room would stay cool. 1st morning: My daughter noticed a dead baby spider under the TV console. It was then that I noticed that the double doors going out to the deck had a significant gap at the bottom. OK. Stuff with towel which didn't work. Still, firewood didn't stay lit long. Onward: 2nd morning. My daughter woke me up about 6:00 a.m. to let me know a 'squirrel' had gotten into the upstairs bath (which she had a picture of) but at some point during the sudden door closure for containment it had left. I called the front desk and explained all the issues. They immediately had housekeeping come over to sanitize the bath, maintenance to fix the door and bath, and security. The jets weren't working because someone had turned off the switch on the breaker box. All the wood was waterlogged. A weather strip was going to be replaced with the doors open to the very cold outside but I said no need now. Finally, after such a frantic morning and it almost gone my family and I decided that even after the offer of a move to another cabin we would like to cancel the last night and leave. Big Cedar refunded $750 off the 2 nights and as well allowed us to cancel the 3rd night refunding our money for that night. We missed the Nature At Night tour but after I called my reservation and charge was refunded. As we were leaving I noticed a huge gap in the stairs going up. Where's the ongoing maintenance on these cabins especially at $1300/night! So, caution on renting a 3 bedroom or else you might be 'glamping' unwillingly. Johnny needs to hire Animal Control to proof his cabins and plug the holes inside and out. read more

We stayed one night in the "Valley View Lodge" of Big Cedar Lodge in February, as an overnight stop on our way to St. Louis from Oklahoma. Since we don't live that far away, we thought we'd check it out to see if it was somewhere we might like to visit again in the future, for a longer stay. Based on this one stay, we will not be back. We were so disappointed that we almost just checked out and left on the day we arrived. I will list the Pros and Cons next. CONS: 1. Overpriced for what it is ($250 a night in February!). Since it was a resort, and the photos on their website looked nice, we booked it. In person, it does not look as nice. In fact, it looks very old and dingy. 2. Our "Valley View" room had a view of the parking lot and a small building next to it. I expected a view of something nice for $250! 3. There are very few parking spots at the Valley View lodge and they were very difficult to park in, since it was a dead-end, narrow one-lane street. 4. The shuttle, which made regular stops late into the evening, would make beeping sounds backing out of this dead-end street. This makes it really difficult for someone to sleep with all that racket! 5. Motel-style entry to rooms was odd, since that means there is only one window to the outside, which faces the hallway where people walk by constantly. We kept the curtains drawn because we didn't want people looking into our room. 6. Low ceilings made the rooms feel very small. Look at the photo posted by Sam H. on 2/22/2023 to see what the Valley View room with 2 Queen beds looks like. 7. Rooms were very dark due to a limited number of lamps & low wattage bulbs in all of them. The closet had no lighting at all, so I had to use my flashlight to see inside it. 8. Windy road to get into the complex, which went through a manmade "stream". While I'm sure that's fun for effect, I would have not been happy if I had tried to drive my low-riding sports car through it. They really should post a warning sign before you enter, because there's no way to turn around once you start down the path. 9. We got a "thank you for staying" email before we even got there, which was very confusing. PROS: 1. Staff at registration were friendly. 2. Heating worked well and warmed up the room quickly. 3. Basket of snacks and complementary water in the fridge were nice. The cookies were very good. 4. Beds were comfortable. read more

Ate here for Thanksgiving dinner and it was great. The buffet was the best, the service was the best, and it was a fun place. It was a great dinner when you are not at home for Thanksgiving. Came her last weekend as a surprise girls getaway/ birthday weekend for my friend. I booked well in advance and check-in was quick and easy. Prior to our arrival I informed the lodge of our reason for staying and was pleasantly surprised to see a cake and birthday card for my friend! I was very impressed! There were so many things to do here! We floated around the lazy river, took a swim, sat around in the spa, and walked the gorgeous grounds. Plenty of family-friendly things to do. While we were here we had dinner at Devils Pool Restaurant which was great. Service and food were good. Also had lunch at Truman Cafe which was great to sit on the patio and enjoy the scenery and food. The only negative was our room size. For the two of us we were literally bumping into the oversized furniture (stubbed toes for proof) and felt cramped in the bathroom. The shared patios felt a little awkward and our room was right on the end next to the stairs so privacy wasn't possible. When planning my next trip I will definitely consider Big Cedar Lodge! read more

We enjoyed our weekend here with kids last minute. Stayed at the Falls Lodge. It was nice, but bathrooms are dated and TV's undersized given the size of the rooms. Staff are very friendly and service is good. Even though the properties have mask requirements, you have to be comfortable that the vast majority of people don't wear masks. Just a heads up. My family has come to Big Cedar Lodge since I was a little girl, and watching the evolution over the last 20 years has been amazing When they say this is Americas premier wilderness resort, that is not an exaggeration. Whether you're here with your family, for work or looking for a weekend getaway with friends they have the perfect fit. The lodges are more budget hotel style accommodation since they were some of the first properties built. I stayed in one this week and they were still very clean and nice. The conference center is incredible and I can only imagine how much business gets done at this place! I love that you can spend your days in Branson and your nights here, but there is so much to do on site (and a courtesy shuttle between all of it) that you could stay entirely on property with al the pools, academies, the kids club, and the incredible dining. If you're looking anywhere near Branson, you won't find a better experience than Big Cedar. read more

Super nice resort and well worth the price we paid. There are a few issues that really compromise the experience. The signage on the roads and around the property is horrible, especially at night. Some of the staff is friendly and helpful and some are unfriendly and some are even worse. I was honked at and yelled at by a shuttle driver because I was apparently going the wrong way on an utterly unmarked road, even though there was plenty of room for him to go around and be professional and/or helpful. With the collapse of Branson entertainment, don't know why we would come back here, especially in winter. Trying to even find some of the facilities and amenities took an inordinate amount of our limited vacation time. Did they have people trying to help? Nope. read more

While at Devils pool we swam for approximately an hour then proceeded to order food. While waiting for food we were told we could not use Devils Pool because we were lodging at The Cliffs. Silly since we were just told we could use the pool. We let management know we were told we could use the pool by Big Cedar registration. They proceeded to call security. Which I was surprised because we were compliant to leave but thought it was protocol. Once security, James Graves, arrived he did not address the situation kindly. He told us we needed to exit the premises immediately. I was compliant and let him know we were told we could use the pool. He proceeded to say that it wasn't good enough, he needed the name of the registration staff that agreed to let us use the pool. Why on earth do I need to get the name of every staff member I speak with? But apparently it's needed. My kids we uncomfortable with his presence and demeanor towards our family. I let him know he was acting irrationally and rude. We were agreeing to leave while the staff was boxing our food up and my husband was paying. To sum up the story, we were told we could use the pool. Then, they decided we couldn't. Then, called security and kicked us out. It was very disrespectful. It was handled unprofessional. Not even close to what was advertised. Valley View rooms smell like a nursing home, have electrical outlets that have thick paint painted all over them, mold in the shower, and it literally sounds like the roof is going to cave in above us when people walk. read more
